  1. I've been running SP2 since RC1, and have installed on about 10 different PC's and laptops without a single issue. My boot times and general response times have felt slightly better, but I don't have any hard numbers. ;) While I'm paid to be skeptical of all patches/software, I have to admit my experience with SP2 has been good. From a security standpoint, it's something that has been a long time coming. The IBM article is a little misleading. IBM SHOULD have been ready for the new port stuff, the beta patch has been out for 8 months or more. The reason this is going to break some apps is not really MS's fault, as not allowing just ANY port access to a box is something that should have been that way since the beginning. SP2 is just going to force programmers to actually think about security for a change. :D
  2. Be aware, it's also going to break some apps. By default, XP SP2 locks all posts, you have to reopen some if you do any game hosting, etc. It's a great update, just go in with your eyes open. ;)
  3. I'll check it again tonight...
  4. I had missed the X-Plane tie-in, that does sound interesting.
  5. Happy Birthday Nick!
  6. Damn, that's nice. I'm gonna have to check this one out...
  7. I tested and it's working here as well. Maybe we had a server issue for a few minutes, but try it now and see if you can get it.
  8. Just stumbled across this today while reading the Fireing Squad site. Someone finally attached the Flashlight to the Machinegun. Grab it here: http://ducttape.glenmurphy.com/ Under the crazy presumption that a roll of duct tape has to exist somewhere on the Mars facility, the Duct Tape mod allows you to do the obvious, and stick a flashlight onto to your machinegun.
  9. I am currently riding the bus home while typing this on my iPaq 4350, which is connected to my new Nokia 6280 via BlueTooth. The cell is connected to the Inet via AT&T's Edge Network at about 95kbps. I'm also on ICQ chatting. Who would have thought this would be possible even a few years ago... Of course, this just means I never get away from work... :P
  10. Good Idea, I'll create one tonight.
  11. Yell the next time you try MP, I would like to try it out. As for location, I've fought my way back to the Marine HQ and am currently fighting my way through Alpha labs and Administration. And you are right, it's a damn freaky game, I jumped several times tonight. ;)
  12. Alright guys, this is why I discourage politics discussions in the forums, they alway, ALWAYS end up with one side pissed off at the other. I always let them stay open until the namecalling and yelling starts, but it always ends up getting out of hand. Consider this the friendly warning, and the topic is closed. If you guys want to continue this, please take it to PM or email.
  13. Well, I just got done playing some of the most intense FPS I've ever played. Best Buy had Doom3 on the shelves here today, so I ran over and picked it up. I've been playing for an hour or so, and I have to say it's definately one of the creepiest damn games I've ever played. ;) It's running pretty good on my 9600Pro/2.2Ghz box here, with settings to medium (800x600).
  14. I'll try and get it hooked back up for you tonight. ;) I finished the rearrange, but I need to get everything plugged back in.
  15. I'm doing some rearranging in my den and the Teamspeak/FSHost server is down for a couple days. Hope to have it back up by Wednesday.
  16. It's now up in the Project-1 Addons area
  17. Finally, some real exhaust! You can grab Deuces Dirty Exhaust mod in the Strike Fighters Oject Mods File area. Biohaz File Library
  18. Why are you reading this? Go out and enjoy your birthday... ;)
  19. Yes, luckily they have pre-made SAM sites you can just drop in the mission. it would be really tedious having to drop those all in by hand. ;)
  20. Even though I've been swamped at work the past few weeks, I've been doing a little behind-the-scenes work recruiting. I would like to introduce some new Biohaz staffers to the fold, most of which I'm sure you will recognize. First up is VVanks, who is going to help out with news, graphics, and other assorted odds and ends he doesn't know about it. ;) VVanks has been a longstanding member of the flight sim community, and I'm sure you've seen his name around the different forums such as the Ubi LOMAC scene. He's also a great talent for graphics, as you can see on his site at http://wyn.vze.com/. Buff and Eric2020 are both well-known Project-1 fans and will be helping out on that front, as I just can't keep up with all the mods and such by myself. Eric runs the Strike Fighters Yahoo group as well as maintains the Project-1 Resource Listing. Buff, we just hired him for his looks... :P Last but not least, we have a newcomer to our site, Mongoose. While fairly new to Biohaz, you've probably seen him around the web as well. He brings a wealth of news experience, as he has a background in broadcast journalism, and was active in radio for 28 years. Mongoose not only has experience gathering and writing news, but was also involved in commercial production and script writing. God knows we could use some experience around here... :D So, everyone give the new staffers a warm Biohaz welcome! I know I am personally very happy to have them all aboard, and am greatful that they've stepped up to help. Thanks guys!
  21. That's easy, 2 block south of my house. ;) You familiar with the area?
  22. Everyone's taking time off I think. I know I've been buried at work the past week. The pics are awesome, BTW. I need to dig out my old pics from the B-17/B-25/P-51 when they came through Walla Walla about 8 years ago, I got some great in-cockpit shots.
  23. Wow, that looks much better. I can actually pick out all the real roads! I live about 2 miles south of Felts, and the area looks very realistic.
  24. Cool, can you post some pics of Spokane area if you get a chance?
  25. This is indeed bad news. It looked like a promising title.
