  1. If I read correctly, it's this: XAIM-4H The XAIM-4H appeared as the final iteration of the GAR-1D aerodynamic layout, intended to correct many of the deficiencies of the AIM-4D in the anti-fighter role. The USAF funded development of the XAIM-4H in 1969, once the AIM-4D’s limitations in anti-fighter combat had been highlighted in the skies over Vietnam. The XAIM-4H employed a modified AIM-4D airframe and IR seeker, but added an active optical proximity fuse. This alleviated the traditional Falcon requirement of a direct hit for warhead detonation, potentially making the XAIM-4H more capable against maneuvering targets. The XAIM-4H reportedly introduced a new warhead and enhanced maneuverability as well. Hughes produced 25 XAIM-4H test rounds between 1970 and 1971. At least two intercept tests took place, with XAIM-4H missiles destroying QF-104A target drones on January 26 and July 17 of 1971. Ultimately, this penultimate anti-fighter Falcon found itself as a victim of budgetary constraints in late 1971, with newer variants of the AIM-9 becoming the standard “dogfight” missile for USAF fighters. A class addition of an aircraft that hasn't gotten nearly as much attention as it should have. A long range killer as well as a close-in knife fighter, and can carry almost anything and deliver it with precision. Power galore & fun to fly.....what's not to like??????
  2. Another wonderful addition to the game. It REALLY shone when I ran into a S-400 nest, and we had to get low & fast in a hurry. It was (in 1 word) dizzying!!!
  3. That SAM & AAA nest off to the left was 9 miles off the EOR. Imagine my surprise blundering into it...
  4. AD Suppression in the Weasel Version (with a little flair for the dramatic)
  5. Rolled in from a steeper angle to minimize TOT... Coming back with all the pieces still attached is always a good thing...
  6. North Korean Urban Gentrification... My wingman shooting Sams.. Getting shot up on the pullout annoyed me, so...............Annoyance removed...
  7. I used the F-D_67 on a Ground Attack mission over Vietnam, circa 1973 with a 2-ship formation in cloudy weather, and 2 Mig-21s in the mix. Here a shot of my framerates (which remained relatively steady), and the RWR working.
  8. If you're in that big of a hurry, you can go first......
