Talk about split-decision on who gets to fly that bird, the left or the right cockpit... I mean, this gives the "side-by-side-cockpit" expression a whole new meaning! Would require twice the nr of terrorists with "crash-course" experience to bring that bird down...

If you liked that then prepare to "laugh it up, fuzzball..." - Looks like I've found the larger picture that belongs to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYW7lum1ilU

Wings Over Europe 6 : Fires of Liberation #2
TX3RN0BILL replied to kei nagase's topic in General Discussion
Six out of five stars!!! Very nice vid!!! -
I visited San Francisco once back in 2002, seemed like a nice town, but being part of the U.S. and shunting the military like this... I don't know if that's a good thing... I wonder what would happen if Al Qaeda struck Spike tower and the Golden Gate... They'd be begging for help I guess...

Tom Clancy's Air Combat Announced
TX3RN0BILL replied to Fates's topic in General Flight Sim Discussion
I wonder if it's based on any books... in existance or to be released... I must say I'm a Tom Clancy novels fan, but less so of the games based on his books... -
But the Mongols and the Turks haven't... Well, I wonder if we'll ever get to know if the americans would succumb to the russian weather or not...
-
If by that you mean that nobody would like to live in Russia besides russians, then I could agree with you... But I still believe that a nuclear winter would be worse than the russian winter...

How Come all Combat flight Sims are stuck in the WWII era...
TX3RN0BILL replied to SkyStrike's topic in The Pub
The only AAM I know that Germany tested successfully was the Ruhrstahl X-4... it was to be a great success but the BMW plant that made its engines was blown to bits so it remained a prototype, unlike the Henschel guided missiles which saw real combat service... -

Even worse, I've never had a WW2 sim where I could use a guided missile like the Henschel missiles, or the guided bombs like the Fritz-X (which were so good they sunk several ships) - but no, I always have to carefully aim the dumb iron bombs... Well, at least rockets are present... Oh, the glory days of Aces over the Pacific and Aces over Europe... -
Nope, I've already voted, as have otherss who have contributed to the posts in this thread, and like them, like to keep an eye on the thread, hence, most naturally, since voting is only made once, you're bound to see much more views than votes... Just as a case of deductive logic...

That looks very similar to the Mig Light Fighter project that's supposed to compete with the JSF... http://www.totalairdominance.50megs.com/Fighters/MiG-LFI.htm

I knew that they'd reverse-engineered the F-5 but that they're touting it as to be the equivalent of the F-18... That's just !!!

Belo vídeo sim senhor! Só gostaria de saber o que é que o heli tava transportando que estava tão pesado que não conseguia levantar vôo...

You mean BIS? Or the Democratic Republic of Sahrani with their Sahrani Liberation Army? You're really working on behalf of the Queen's Gambit! (ArmA's upcoming expansion!).

Hmmm, almostpilot, would you know of any possible release date? 3rd quarter of 2007 is almost gone now...

I only got WoE, don't even know if the others are around where I live (I need boxed games, I don't trust downloads). I know there's a great interoperability between these games therefore I went for the latest I could find... And taking into account the rather poor terrain compared to Operation Flashpoint (which has quite a bunch of community-made WWI birds available, and I'm hoping they make it into ArmA as well), I think I'll skip FE entirely and wait for whatever is coming next...

Better than this I think is only "Tie Fighter" from the X-Wing series where one could achieve the rank of Grand Admiral and still be strapped in a Tie cockpit...

Well, Crichton and Spielberg at least will still be untouchable because both the novel and the movie say that the dinosaur's DNA sequences were incomplete so they used DNA from reptiles and amphibians to plug the holes with whatever they thought would fit... hence, we got some kick-ass dinosaurs to see in the Jurassic Park trilogy...

How Come all Combat flight Sims are stuck in the WWII era...
TX3RN0BILL replied to SkyStrike's topic in The Pub
FL Hausser, I remember being aboard the USS Intrepid in NY and that had a A-12 aboard... Don't remember seeing the "guts" of it... But hey, at least I flew around a bit in the A-6 cockpit simulator... I think I landed once well on the carrier... was fun... As for Thirdwire simulations, I agree with eraser_tr, I don't think the way Thirdwire would represent new planes would put Governments in danger, because there's nothing stopping community members of portraying them in existing simulations, so... Bring on the Rafales and Gripens and Eurofighters and Berkuts and the whole rest! -

Wolf65, it's actually great honor to some of the planes being better than their successors... I mean, no F-35 will be able to fully replace the sturdiness of the A-10... But in terms of simulations I must agree that it's a pity that there is no more innovative ground taken... I guess the new stuff is bound to be left to the community to make... -
My wonder is why they didn't release just VBS2 to stay above water, making BIS also responsible for VBS2 and not only BIA, so that both could profit, and later, when they'd finally get everything right, get one great ArmA (I believe most people wouldn't have minded waiting instead of getting a half-finished product), instead of ArmA + ArmA2... Surely with the success of VBS, VBS2 would also be a success, but as it is, the ArmA community feels like it's a guinea pig to see if the tech works for VBS, instead of the other way around... I wonder which clients, VBS or OFP, are more important to BIS, since they can say all they want that VBS is from BIA and not BIS, if there were no BIS then there wouldn't be any VBS for sure...
-
Rhodite, OFP and ArmA are two things that aren't the same... OFP was well-made and whatever BIS couldn't do, the community made the effort to make better and it deserved its many awards... no matter how rough that gem was at the beguinning. ArmA, on the contrary, was a disappointment when it first came out (worst of all, the czech/german release fiasco as it was already acknowledged by BIS as being rushed), the fact that some of the bugs from OFP had been brought to ArmA, some stuff which was good in OFP was made worse in ArmA, and to top it all off, BIS now announced ArmA 2 before having fixed ArmA to any large extent... and I'm not even going to comment about VBS... All in all it's a shame because patch 1.09 sounds like it'll be probably the last patch that ArmA will receive, and even that doesn't sound like it'll solve half of the worst problems that game suffers from (the fixed-plane flight model being IMHO the one that puts me off the most, taking into account it was fully functional in OFP for its purpouse) ... And now it seems that the modding community is largely holding back, awaiting ArmA 2 to be what everybody expected ArmA to be, and with reason, taking into account all the time that passed between OFP: Resistance's release and ArmA's release...

Ah, them glory days of infancy... still, nothing beat Wacky Races except for Inspector Gadget, GIJOE, and best of all, Transformers...

Well, bring on the truly innovative new tech, like naval rail guns! All the rest is more or better of the same, but I'd like some new weaponry to toy with in Cold War 2 scenarios... :nyam:
