It'll be a slow process, but I suggest adding mods one at a time then testing. Some of the newer mods and aircraft (esp' those made for WOI) should be ok. It's the older ones that might give you the most headaches. -

Hmmm....this opens up possibilities. Us Brits invented the t'interweb then eh, ok. We had a hand in it shall we say. Whilst working at CERN. hmmm, ponders... Internet closely assosiated with p0rn. This then ,is the cerne abbas giant. Ancient like stonehenge but not as ancient. A connection ?

Modern UK terrain?
Syrinx replied to mppd's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I really like the idea of a fully up to date 2008 scenario with NATO being what it is a present. Lots of scope for conflicts in light of recent events. However, saying that...on a personal level I'd love to fly Lightning's out of Binbrook on defensive flights so this sets a cold war 1960's-1980's timeframe and that's already been covered. Oh I dunno, it's the sweetshop scenario for me this ! To be perfectly honest I don't really mind, it'll just be cool to fly from the UK. Lots of possibilities either way. -
Opinions Please

WOV + Widesky + Green Hell 2 is superb. The best at the moment, no doubt. That low cloud over those lush and steamy green forests is a pleasure to fly through...slide back the canopy and enjoy. Loosen your flying helmet and take the pressure off those hotspots, the muffled sound of your Spad's engine in your ears, the smell of fuel and oil is inescapable. The rush of cooler air through the open canopy mixed with that damp heavy mist. Ah...then a shout from your wingie. Taking fire, somewhere below a fifty cal opens up. Big red hot tomatoes sail lazily upwards, you look down, transfixed, then...whoosh that red tomato is flashing past your cockpit. Training takes over...no time to feel or think. The canopy is pulled shut as you push the throttle through the gate and begin that crazy jinking that's kept you safe so far. Head on a swivel as you search that impenetrable green jungle below. The radio crackles into life, somewhere down there is a platoon of grunts nose to nose with Charlie. Map coordinates are shouted, you hear clearly the sound of small arms fire through your headphones. Still jinking, you check your kneemap. Another shout from your wingie. Napalm cannisters spinning end over end hit their intended mark. Whoosh, through the corner of your eye you see the huge swathe of orange death mixed with the black oily smoke spreading over the small clearing in that Green Hell below... Yep. Does it for me -

Must admit...I loved it ! Nice one Dave.

Modern UK terrain?
Syrinx replied to mppd's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hey, you're all welcome. But remember...you can buzz but don't bomb ! Seriously though, this is a great idea for a new map\theatre. Hope it takes off (see what I did there, eh ! see it ! Hey Mike, come and have a look at this ! ) -
Glad you liked it Tank. If you can, try going up North. If you think Londoners are friendly you'll love us at the sharp end The only place in the States I've ever been is Florida, the usual Disney trip etc but I'd love to see other parts of the US. Always wanted to go to places like Montana and Wyoming. One day.

I'd go for that one Lazboy. Great idea. Most of the important bases are Eastern, Northern England & Scotland anyway. Be nice to take off from Marham or Lossiemouth, cross the North Sea then attack enemy occupying forces in Norway. Be able to buzz my house too, wake the neighbours -

Visibility Problem
Syrinx replied to Red Dragon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hehehe. Contacts, I'd be lost (literally) without mine. Everything's great up to about two-feet away then wham, the world's a blur after that. Server, my eyesight went downhill mid-teens too. Still, the specs have\do come in handy. -
Thanks Gocad. Think I worded it incorrectly, would be silly to have separate role designations for different squadrons. Duh. What I meant was that since 11 sqn were the first to operate the Typhoon in it's ground attack capability they'd be getting the FGR4's. Certainly seem to getting up through the numbers quickly...we'll be on the FGR7 before we know it.
