  1. False I'm afraid. I don't have a "wii". I have, however played with my friends "wii" quite vigorously but haven't broken it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The person below me has read far too much into that statement.
  2. Funnily enough I've just reinstalled SFG and patched up and I too was pleasantly surprised. Had a blast really, no fancy weapons or planes. Vanilla except for Widesky (can't do without it now) and my own HUD preferences. Sometimes it good to get back to basics - if only for a short while Trouble is that's it's very hard not to tinker with it. "Oh, I'll just add such and such a plane, or mod". Must...resist... Yeh yeh I know I could copy the vanilla and mod that to my hearts content but when you have the willpower of a thing that's got no willpower you're screwed.
  3. Calm down...calm down You asked for it lol.

  6. A desert scheme is on my to do list Would be slightly fictional as the Halifaxes operated in the desert were mainly MkII's & V's (Merlin engines and triangular fins). Also they were modifed to MkII series I (special) by removing the nose turret and fairing it over. The so-called "Tollerton" nose. Also many had their dorsal turrets removed at this time as well. The pics in your second link are not actually in the desert scheme. They are just badly faded copies of well known shots of aircraft in the standard Bomber Command scheme. Desert scheme for the Halifax was merely painting over the green camo with midstone and leaving the brown as is. This was done in-theatre and was often quite crudely applied. Undersides were left night black (even though they were often operated during daylight in the western desert theatre). Egypt also operated the Hali after WW2 up to the early 1950's. WOI...hmm.
  7. Is your WOE fully patched up to Oct 08 ?
  8. Another WIP...Coastal Command (Met) Halifax III. Ignore the codes and serials (haven't made the correct ones yet!). Oh and the camo is too green as yet, but you get the general idea. dsawan - the Bomber Command ones are in the downloads section if you want 'em. 4-skin pack (haha pardon me lol).
  9. Hey you might be onto something there. Time travelling assassins...
  10. Neither do I apart from what I can remember from school (very little). However I have no problem navigating their excellent site. Think of it as way of learning French. Telechargement sounds way cooler than download...so from now on I'm telechargmenting things, not downloading 'em !
  11. Really cool ! But can they be trusted ? You know as well as I that Dohar has always had a greedy eye on the oil fields for it's own ends.
  12. Personally I'm still waiting for the invention of a time machine. Someone can go back and tell us what really happened. Can't have been invented though because sure as eggs if someone did go back they'd try to prevent it. Causality notwithstanding. Seeing as he's still dead (in this universe:-)) I take it to mean a time machine hasn't been done now or in the future. Unless they have a very good ethical policy of non-intervention. Seriously though, it's one of those mysteries that will always provoke conspiracy theories. Would be kind of interesting to speculate the direction of US policy had he lived.
  13. In her element: 158 Sqn's C-Charlie heads back to Lisset in North Yorkshire after a successful mission to Duisburg. 14\15 October 1944.
  14. False. Although when I was still at school a lad in the back of the class threw an apple pie at the board whilst the History teacher was writing on it. ======================================== The person below cannot look without touching.
  15. I'll admit it...I used to be very blase about the Mig's in this series. Not any more thanks to the excellent work that you all "Mig-guys" and "red" specialists have done. I have a very healthy respect for the Mig 21 especially. They are now some of my favourite a\c to fly in WOE. Excellent work.
  16. Your welcome Aleckx ! Like Jeff said, good to have someone who takes the time to read (and more importantly, understand) the KB.
  17. Being able to put down a damaged a\c and walk away from the crash would be a major step up for definate. Hate to think how many times I've had to bale to save my virtual backside when I'd much rather have tried to land. Never say never though. We were bitchin' about not being able to start & stop engines not so long ago.
  18. Looks nice. Fuses the old and the new. Like the new "sensually carved" engine pods ! Looking forward to the film.

    OMG!

Cruel bar-stewards. You should all be ashamed.
  23. 633 Sqn was on the box at the weekend. And as is the way with such things you just have to watch it...again. The superb musical score and those lovely Mosquito's tear-arsing around meant I just had to turn on the PC and run my WWII install. Funny how such things work, had it been "dogfights" on the History channel I'd have loaded up a mission with whatever aircraft was on that. Having just watched Nasa's greatest missions on TV also I felt the urge to fire up my very neglected edition of Orbiter. But then sanity prevailed and it was off to the pub for my tea.
  24. Cool pic FC ! Here's a sunset shot taken across the bay in Agia Napa, Cyprus in September. Was strolling along the beach before a night out, very tranquil had to capture it - definately one of those moments to savour.
  25. Here's a WIP. Redone the skin with the historical camo pattern. If there's enough call for it I'm going to do a selection of 4 group Halifax sqn's and possibly a Coastal Command version. Still a bit to do, both skin and decal-wise - no ETA cos I'm pretty busy.
