HTS for F-16 Blk 50/52
malibu43 replied to malibu43's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
So if the weapon type was left as 'EP', whould the HTS and Lantirn/litening be able to be loaded? -
HTS for F-16 Blk 50/52
malibu43 replied to malibu43's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Cool, thanks. Is there any reason that both those stations would have had 'EP' instead of 'TP' and 'DLP'? The loadout ini's for Strike and SEAD called out the Litening Pod and the HTS pod, so it's quite apparent that they were intended to go there. I'm wondering if there's something I don't know about they way the 'EP' type works that I don't know about and maybe it should be left that way. Anyone know? -
HTS for F-16 Blk 50/52

That's kinda what I figured. Thanks! -
I downloaded the F-16 Blk 50/52 and noticed that it has chin stations right where they should be for the LANTIRN/LITENING and the HTS. However, the allowable weapons class for each one was listed as EP (ECM pod). I changed the Targeting pod chin station to 'TP', but I'm not sure what to do with the HTS. I can't find one in the weapons pack to use, and even if I did, I'm not sure what the appropriate allowable type designation should be. Can someone give me a pointer in the right direction? I did a search, and all I found was another thread where a similar question was asked, but no answer given. Thanks! *edit* sorry, never mind. I found the HTS_POD in the weapons pack. Is it functional?

Maybe one of the resident experts can help me out with this next part... I used the .cat extractor to look for for the original Gau8FireEffect, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I couldn't find any effects for that matter, other than what's already there in the effects folder. In addition, the 30mmFireEffect that I'm referencing now isn't in the effects folder either, but it still works. So I guess my question is where does the game get effects from if they aren't in the effects folder? If I knew this, I could do a fresh install of WOE and hunt down the Gau8 effect, and hopefully figure out where it went and get it back.

I was just messing around in a mission and realized the the gunfire effect (Muzzle flash and smoke) is not there for the A-10 anymore. I'm playing merged WOV/WOE. I have the weapons pack, weather mod, and comm mod installed. I have some add on aircraft installed as well as the Isreal DES terrain. However, when I installed all these, I was careful that I didn't add anything change any of the weapons or effects that could be associated with the A-10. Does anyone know what could have happened, or more importantly how to fix it? Thanks.

I have several aircraft that have 2010 or something similar as the service end date, however, I can't create a single mission that starts after 1985. That's as far as the drop down will go for any aircraft, and some aircraft utilize weapons that were not available until after 1985 (Sky Shadow for Tornado for example). I know I could just adjust the start date for the weapon, but I'd rather just be able to fly missions up into the early 90's. I looked through the acraft ini's and the terrain ini's looking for dates that may need to be adjusted, but I couldn't find anything other than the aircraft service start and end date... and those were already ranging up to 2010. What am I missing? Thanks. By the way, I'm flying merged WOE/WOV. I have the isreal DES terrain added too. That all are limited to 1985.

I was messing around with Razbam's AD-4 trying to see if I could set it up so that every time I loaded that A/C in a WOV single mission, it would fly off a carrier. I changed nation name from USAF to USN, and double checked that carrier based was set at true. When I loaded up a single mission, though, I was still on land. I then loaded a single mission with the f-4J, which is already a navy aircraft and is flown off of the carrier in the campaign, but I got the same result. Started off from an airbase on land. After I thought about it, I don't remember ever starting on a carrier in randomly generated single missions. So my questions are: Can you start on carriers in the randomly generated single missions? and Is there a way to specify that a specific aircraft will always start on a carrier? Thanks!

Not to jump the gun, but I'm going to start with one of what will definitely be my biggest dissapointments of 2008: My "repaired" 360 died this AM. Did not even have it back for a week. :fuk: you microsoft!

Of course they're selling them, and not giving them out to people who have already paid $300 for their fine product...

Granted I've never played GR on a PC (only xbox) but I'll agree that the reason I played the crap out of the orginal GR on xbox was the tractical side of it and the ability to play the same level over and over again in a completely different way. The new GR and Rainbow 6 games totally leave out the tactical/planning portion of the game. Boo...
