  1. While we're on the subject of sounds, does anyone know what the correct entry to the [basesoundfile] section of the aircraftobject.ini is to get the "bombrelease" wave to work? I tried BombReleaseSoundName=, but that didn't work. Thanks!
  2. Alright, alright. I apologize. I had internet access (and a few beers...) but not access to my game install when I posted that. I was being a little impatient... I tried adding that entry, but it still didn't work. I then remembered that I have an OTC install that is just WOE patched up with OTC on top of it (no other add-ons). The aircraftobject.ini in OTC had the [baseobjectsound] section with all sorts of sounds, including the tire touch. I dropped that .ini in to my WOE\objects folder and replaced the other one that was in there. All works fine now! Thanks for the help!
  3. I don't have [baseSoundType] in my AircraftObject.ini file. What do I need to add to get it to work? Should I add: [baseSoundType] LandingSoundName=TireTouch' ???
  4. I added it to one aircraft, and it worked. So that's good... But it's going to take a while to add it to all of em.... :( I'm still curious as to why it went away in the first place... I don't suppose something can be added to the aircraftobject.ini to make a universal change, can it?
  5. Funny...that entry isn't on ANY of my aircraft, add on or stock...?
  6. Anybody? I searched and didn't see a fix for this anywhere. I could have sworn that up until recently I was hearing. I'm pretty sure it was there when landing with the Harrier...
  7. Hey CA_Stary, I just found some issues with missing tiles near Buckeborg (sp?) airbase. See pics below: I would have thought it to be a tile issue and have nothing to do with trees, but I've tried this with both the stock WOE terrain, and with Max's tiles and had the same problem both times. Does anyone else have this problem?
  8. Like the title says, I noticed that I wasn't getting the tire touch sound when landing. The file is in sounds folder, but I'm not hearing it. I looked through the aircraft data files, and the flightengine.ini file and didn't see any reference to the tire touch sound. In what .ini is the tire touch sound called out? I need to check to see if I changed something... Thanks!
  9. I'm in the same boat. I'm holding off on WOI for now, until I know I'll be able to put it all together. Please let us all know how the migration works!
  10. Ok. Now I have one more question. The original AmericaNW terrain (and the ANWgreen) have a nations.ini (22kb) that I'm supposed to place in the flight folder. There is already a nations.ini in the flight folder, that is a larger file (35kb), but does not have the "orange" nation that is in the nations.ini that comes with the ANW terrrain. The only other place I found the nation "orange" is in the AmericaNW_Nations.ini. So I have a couple questions: 1. I think the larger nations.ini is more recent. What will happen if I overwrite it with the one that came with ANW? 2. What will happen if I don't put the ANW nations.ini in the flight folder? 3. What is the best thing to do? Thanks!
  11. Yeah, I do. I was really asking more because I wanted to understand why what I did didn't work, when I thought it should, even if there is an easier way. That sort of thing will drive me crazy. Thanks for the help!
  12. Thanks! Can I ask what those two files are? (Just so I learn something from this...)
  13. I looked in the KB and didn't see this in the 3rd party terrain section, so here goes... I downloaded the America North West Green (ANWgreen) terrain from major lee's a while back. To that, I added the America NW Mountain Thaw package, and then Dueces American North West Series Upgrades. After pointing to the correct CAT file (GermanyCE) and making sure the folder and all the INI's had the right name (ANWgreen_xxxx.ini), I dropped that folder in and it worked just fine. So next I thought I'd try a less green and not so snowy version of the same terrain. I took the same terrain folder that just worked fine, copied it, and renamed it ANWbrown. I changed the ANWgreen.ini file to ANWbrown.ini, and changed the full name= to America North West Brown. I then took the original ANWgreen tiles (not the mountain thaw ones) and dropped them into the folder, overwriting what was already there. So at this point, I figured I'd have the exact same thing as my ANW green terrain (that worked moments earlier) only with different tiles. When I go to fly a mission with this terrain, I get a CTD as soon as I hit fly. Air start or runway start doesn't matter. I'm assuming there is something I forgot to rename, or that maybe there is some file other than the .bmp's that I should have copied in that I didn't. Anyone know what it could be? Thanks!
  14. Totally with you on that one... I'm gonna hold out and see how things go for a while.
  15. I'm excited to check this out, but I think I'm going to wait and see how it runs. The listed system requirements seem to be substantially higher for WOI when compared to WOE and WOV. I'm looking forward to hearing some reports from the first few to buy it!
  16. I can help with some of the beginner stuff. Let me know what I can do.
  17. I searched (the forums and the internet) and couldn't find the answer to my question. The MK 20 Rockeye listed in the weapons data isn't available until 1972. However, I've read in books (Flight of the Intruder, most recently) and seen in other internet sources that the rockeye was available in 1968. The AUS version of the rockeye in the weps pack is available in 1968, but the US version isn't available until 1972. I was wondering if some of those who are more knowledgable on the subject could help me out with one. Should the correct date be 1968? Or is there something else that I'm missing? Thanks!
  18. Thanks. I believe that is in the Weapons Pack PDF as well. I was looking more for a way to determine what class a specific weapon is. For example, if I'm trying to load a durandal on an aircraft how do I determine what class I need to add to the station (ie - RCKT, BOMB, CGR, etc...). I can always guess and check, but I wondered if there was a way to tell based on the weapon data. RCKT was it. Thanks!
  19. The title pretty much says it. I want to load out my F-18 and F-16 with BLU-107's, but I can't and I'm not sure what weapon type needs to be added to the stations in the data.ini so that I can do it. And while I'm on the subject, is there some way to tell what "weapon type" each weapon is? When I open the weapons in the weapons editor, I don't see anything that would indicate what weapon type (Bomb, LGB, ARM, IRM... etc) would need to be added to a weapon station so that the weapon can be used. So how does the sim know? Magic...? Thanks!
  20. I completely agree and was just about to post the same thing. Gotta pick an aircraft that has multi-role capability to keep things interesting. Givent the max 1980 time frame and multi-role capability, the only one I can think of is: F-4
  21. I aggree. I think the TW series could be a much more satisfying experience if the A/C, flight modeling, and avionics were left alone (we'll maybe tweaked a little and made more in depth) and the only change was a more immersive dynamic campaign experience similar to that of F4AF. More communication/cooperation with other flights, more missions being carried out at the same time (ie - things happening along the way to the target, not just once you get there). I usually find myself only being able to play one or two campaign missions a day, since the trip to and from the target area are pretty much the same every time ( zzzzzzz....).
  22. Alright, thanks! I appreciate your help.
