  1. That VF-84 Skin started as 4096x4096 and worked in game, I did not realize that the file was 14 megs or so (it zipped to less than 3 megs) when I did the first distribution of it. I really think looking into the decals is worth your time but if you are not willing to look into it thats your choice. The country decals are "built in" in game as are nose numbers. Cheers Beer
  2. AD I missed your post about helping with the PHM. I could use it. The new gun does not work it is 180 out. (not sure but maybe it is the direction I created the gun, a cylinder either drawn barrel end to turrent or turrent to barrel end...would this matter?) The harpoon canisters (8 total) are way over your 10 side rule. The transparent windows are not showing correctly in game. I would be delighted to have you tweak it. Note I still have unwrapping troubles but if you unwrap it I can skin it over if you have to totally rebuild sections. The missile workers get Surface to surface missiles going yet? Email me or PM me and I will send the files. beer at retrorelics dot net
  3. Using decals is pretty cool to, look for the decal tutorial on this site of search for decals in the forums and see what you can pick up in knowledge, column5 and some others are decal masters. Cheers Beer
  4. I have read post where when the AGP setting in the bios were changed from say 8x (or Auto) to 4x that that solved the problem...since you have tried the other stuff try that. Cheers Beer

If you are interested in hooking up for the some of the week long festivities leave a note at the Dayton Airshow board we have been running for a while. http://pub39.ezboard.com/fodbcombatflightsimsfrm4 Due to a lack of participation, the conference room was not booked so the LAN Party part has been cancelled. http://simdayton.homestead.com/Index.html is a Dayton Links page http://www.usats.org/ is the official Airshow page The Blue Angels, Thunderbirds and Snowbirds are scheduled to appear all four days of the Air Show. 8. Impressive! I got a Tbred 2100 that is going in the ASUS A7V8X board when I pull the 2.4and put that in the Abit NF-7S when I get home. Was setting up the Abit NF-7S board and was having overtemp troubles when I put the 2.4 in it, I think I had some excess thermal paste on it and it got squirelly, put it back in the ASUS board (never had overtemp trouble before with it) and it had the same trouble, pulled the cpu cleaned off the excess paste (happened while sliding the fan around), and the cpu is stable again. Ran outta time and had to come to the ship (else you would have recieved the new system for your magic :D Abit NF-7S 2.4 AMD (may buy a 2.7 for it) 1 gig 3200 DDR Samsung RAM Radeon 9800 That 2.1 need to be unlocked? to get it to think it is a 2.6 like your screenshot? See ya Thursday nite :D Cheers Beer
  9. I got a Tbred 2100 that is going in the ASUS A7V8X board when I get home. Gonna drop the 2.4 in the Abit NF-7S when I get home. That 2.1 need to be unlocked? to get it to think it is a 2.6 like your screenshot? See ya Thursday nite :D Cheers Beer
  10. Do you have MSFS? It may have found the Microsoft Flight Sim (same .exe name different directory). Rename the Microsoft exe then apply the patch it should find the Strategy First version only then. Then rename the MSFS back to it origional name. If ya dont have MSFS don't know what to tell ya. Cheers Beer
  11. Radeon 9800 Pro on the above machine. Cheers Beer
  12. OK got the wife a new card Asylum GF FX 5600 and dropped it in for a quick test. CPU OC to 2115 from 2000 (AMD 2.4) About 1000 points increase from the GF4 in the 2003 3D mark (Direct X 9.x test). The 2001 3D mark was slightly less then the GF4 4600ti. Well short of Fates 2003 Mark, the diff I believe the Clock Speed of the graphics Processor. The card tested is also 256 megs of memory, this did not seem to help much. The Card is 8x AGP where the GF4 4600Ti is not. Cheers Beer
  13. PC Pilot...I don't have a day job! LOL I am the nite relief for the Captain when I do work. The words are memorized, my previous ship was an ROV support vessel, we spent alot of time at the dock waiting for work or waiting on parts for the ROV, I used to sing that song live around the Beer cooler at the dock. Great fun! I think my next one will be Kid Rocks "Cowboy" Cheers Beer
  14. Live showing next Wednesday Nite 4 June, at that Bar on Bourbon Street (Rumrunners I think?), New Orleans, Got the Rig Manager and his Boss to entertain (this could make or break my shot at any new construction Captains/Mate Jobs) :D I will see if I can get someone to DV it fer me 8). Another live showing likely at the Dayton Airshow in July. :D Cheers Beer

This is FRAPS with the game at 800x resolution. Put into MS moviemaker and output as a wmv http://www.retrorelics.net/jim/FilesDL/Movie_0004.wmv Cheers Beer
  16. Welcome Preventer :) Lets see if we can stir up some overclocking interest here! Cheers Beer
  17. Fates I am coming fer ya! Better save up fer a new card or learn to speed up the old one ATI 9800 inbound, and Preventer is gonna out do your 2001 score with a GF3 and a 2100 AMD on my board :) Cheers Beer

  19. Its at 7200, the Soviet DD was over 10,00 and worked, I am getting better at the lowering the count but I think many expierenced modelers will think that the 7200 is still too two high, I am also not doing .lod of various poly counts as I probably should be for what shows up at various distances. Also no damage .lods. I guess those will be next as I gain more expierence. Cheers Beer
  20. The ODB and other squads (GFA, 87FIS) from Janes USAF are planning on meeting at the Dayton Ohio Show (Mid July). Being the 100th anniversery of flight, it promises to be a good one! Will post pics and an article (likely in conjunction with Fates) hopefully with streaming media (wife was pissed when I picked up the camera last month :)) Here is a link http://simdayton.homestead.com/links.html Cheers Beer
  21. Half Life was a great break from Quake 2 (another excellent game). I am looking forward to this title, online multiplayer/lan play was a blast. Nuthin like blasting the player next ya to bits (especially if they are your friends kids!) Cheers Beer
