I am in the process of upgrading to a very similiar system. ABit NF-7S rev 1.2 (rev 2.0 is the latest board) 2.7 AMD 1 gig 3500 OCZ matched DDR RAM Radeon 9800 Pro I have been having trouble from the git go, and hope to get my machine back today. I had the two tone (european police siren) at boot, I then swapped the RAM for the higher quality OCZ RAM and managed to get the system set up (using a 2.4 AMD), I did not try a 2001 mark but did get a "Stock" 2003 3 D mark at 5550. When I changed the 2.4 to the 2.7 the system refuses to post, tired of messing with it and swapping various components I took it to the shop. Hope to pick it up today, will post my progress, lets see what we can get outta these! Cheers Beer

Big Beers excellent adventure begins in the wee hours of Wednesday, as Beer and Brew load up the car and head West to Dayton Ohio for the 100 th anniversary of flight airshows. It is the first interstate gathering of ODB's and other squads from Janes USAF multiplayer. Anyone interested in tracking the social and airshow aspects are welcome. There is the possibility for a live Beer Cam (compliments of Earthcam) broadcast as the party continues. @ NAS Brunswick, Maine just after I was getting out in 94 they made all the clubs consolidated. The O Club, Chiefs Club, and E Club became one. They then Changed the BOQ to house Chiefs and O's. NAS Brunswick Maine has dodged the bullet but they sweat each round of base closures. Never made it Cecil Field, when I was in JAX (1990) I did 4 month's with VP-30, my off time was spent at the "Road House" 1700-0200 shooting darts for four months...man what a blast! OK I did not graduate in the top of the RAG class, but I did become a pretty good Dart Shark :D This year they made it so civilians (like myself) can get to the golf course without going on the Base. OK here is a slight update... I get off the ship this Friday (pulled four weeks offshore instead of the usual three and three), and will start the vid shooting next week. Ira, my deck foreman has given me his Black Cowboy hat (he owns a ranch in Texas...so its authentic). As Brew and I pack up the Vette and head "West" to Dayton Ohio for the Dayton Airshow we will try to get some clips of us "heading out West". Gary Coleman rejected my $100 offer to appear with me in the reshoot of the video so I am still trying to recruit some vertically challenged participants, as well as some ho's... I have a work-around for the ho's should that not pan out. Perhaps a finished product End of July. Cheers Beer 8)

Thanks guys, as I said its work in progress, there was no readme put in the zip file, to use the ship (keep in mind it is not landable) unzip all the files to the /objects directory and run the antishipping mission. There are two built in antishipping missions, one is against a tanker, the other is against the cargoship. The cargo ship comes up 75% of the time, if you see the tanker, end the mission back out and restart the antishipping mission. The cargoship.lod is just an easy way for me to test the objects I make. Enjoy, I am adding more stuff to it, and hope to have a better presentation later in the month. Cheers Beer

Sorry Ranger those are not mapped their colors are assigned in form the Materials editor in 3Ds Max (so you can not change them). I am not very good at unwrapping yet, in fact "Mike Who" mapped the PHM for me, all I asked for was the hull and the house. I will try to include more items like the radome etc. Since I have not released the new and improved (visually PHM is better unfortunately the gun works backwards...) I may be able to include those items in the future. The good news is I learned a lil about the unwrapping feature in Max 5 and mapped the superstructure of the CV-59 myself today. So my unwrapping is getting better (not as good as my rapping though :D ). Cool weathering and primer, looks like a 3rd world neglected Navy Vessel. To get sharper quality increase your DPI (dots per Inch) on the skin you are working with, there is a decal tutorial floating around somewhere...the bugger is elusive I thought it was at this site, checked McFlys, and SIMHQ, nojoy, it may be on my HD somewhere. ANYONE HAVE THE DECAL TUTOIAL??? I will post it for DL if some has it. Cheers Beer

Fates and I have the same motherboard as you (we are running 2.4 AMD's). Two things stand out. 1. the Soundblaster (Fates and I are using on board sound) 2. That Corsair RAM is not "approved" by ASUS for your board. I have 3200 DDR Samsung I Believe Fates is running 2700 DDR Samsung Perhaps pulling your soundblaster (Disable it) and seeing if that is it cause. Also ensure that the onboard audio is disabled (you know that I am sure, but had to mention it) so it does not confilt with the SB (run one or the other) I have successfully used the following video cards with SFP-1 on that ASUS board. GF4 4600ti, GF FX 5600 256 ATI 9800 Radeon Pro Fates is running the Radeon 9700 AIW Pro Don't think its a video card issue. Cheers Beer

That VF-84 Skin started as 4096x4096 and worked in game, I did not realize that the file was 14 megs or so (it zipped to less than 3 megs) when I did the first distribution of it. I really think looking into the decals is worth your time but if you are not willing to look into it thats your choice. The country decals are "built in" in game as are nose numbers. Cheers Beer

AD I missed your post about helping with the PHM. I could use it. The new gun does not work it is 180 out. (not sure but maybe it is the direction I created the gun, a cylinder either drawn barrel end to turrent or turrent to barrel end...would this matter?) The harpoon canisters (8 total) are way over your 10 side rule. The transparent windows are not showing correctly in game. I would be delighted to have you tweak it. Note I still have unwrapping troubles but if you unwrap it I can skin it over if you have to totally rebuild sections. The missile workers get Surface to surface missiles going yet? Using decals is pretty cool to, look for the decal tutorial on this site of search for decals in the forums and see what you can pick up in knowledge, column5 and some others are decal masters. Cheers Beer

I have read post where when the AGP setting in the bios were changed from say 8x (or Auto) to 4x that that solved the problem...since you have tried the other stuff try that. Cheers Beer

Impressive! I got a Tbred 2100 that is going in the ASUS A7V8X board when I pull the 2.4and put that in the Abit NF-7S when I get home. Was setting up the Abit NF-7S board and was having overtemp troubles when I put the 2.4 in it, I think I had some excess thermal paste on it and it got squirelly, put it back in the ASUS board (never had overtemp trouble before with it) and it had the same trouble, pulled the cpu cleaned off the excess paste (happened while sliding the fan around), and the cpu is stable again. Ran outta time and had to come to the ship (else you would have recieved the new system for your magic :D Abit NF-7S 2.4 AMD (may buy a 2.7 for it) 1 gig 3200 DDR Samsung RAM Radeon 9800 That 2.1 need to be unlocked? to get it to think it is a 2.6 like your screenshot?
