  4. Understand that I know almost nothing about making maps. I think you need to learn how to use the Terrain Editor to place objects on a map. Can some one with map making knowledge help this guy out?
  5. The odd-looking biplane twin in the 8mm footage was the Vickers Valentia, an obsolete bomber-transport still in use because nothing else was available.
  6. Found an interesting modder-made video of the East African air war. The interesting footage starts about midway, and features some personal 8mm film footage of the obscure, obsolete aircraft operated by the Brits in 1940. EDIT: Should've said South Africans instead of Brits. The main event was Egypt/Libya, and featured the same eclectic mix of obsolete aircraft as East Africa.
  7. Thanks, I am feeling better and got some work done on the Citroen TA. While the civilian vehicles are intended for use with the industrial objects, they can also be used elsewhere. Quick and dirty concept shots of TA and CR42 WIPs, combined with some WW1 pilots and a hangar from the 1930s airfield objects. Guys can have a good time customizing their installs in the near future.

  9. A good suggestion, but there is more to it. Most of the 1940 desert vehicles I am making were originally civilian vehicles adapted for military use. In effect, I am reverse engineering them back to civilian vehicles so the original military versions can be used around airfields. On reflection, maybe I should just keep it as simple as possible and make them all the same size?
  10. Good point Stephen. The small batch of civilian vehicles are intended for placement with the industrial objects. Do you think they should also be scaled down to match the buildings?
  11. Hat tip to Wrench for explaining this in an earlier post. GROUND objects, such as buildings, are scaled down to 63% of original size but terrain objects are not. I'm guessing the reduced size maps are more suitable for long range missions with intercontinental bombers?
  12. Been slowed down by a touch of the flu, but the modest selection of civilian vehicles is nearing completion. Everything is shown actual size, but the released buildings will be scaled down to fit Third Wire's 63% game world convention.

  14. This morning, finished the Citroen TA model and began converting trucks to their civilian equivalents.
  15. Really nice work. Your mod is VERY impressive. Might you also make some Russian biplanes, such as the I-15? If so, then modders could combine many of your 1930s aircraft with many of the 1930s aircraft I am making to create new mods of the Spanish civil war (1936-1939) or early Sino-Japanese war (1937-38).
  16. They are being developed as stand alone aircraft to be released one by one. While doing that, I'll also develop ground objects, etc so everything can eventually be combined into a mod package.
