  1. Oh believe me, you have no idea how sick I am, hehe.
  2. I wrote this for another thread but then I did not want to go so far O/T. It covers something I've mentioned before so please forgive. Here I go again. Sound of the wind and other sounds are amplified by feeling them in a rumble chair like I use. You don't have to even run it loud. I hear what you guys hear but I feel what you guys don't. A force feedback stick is immersive if not really representative of real life it does increase your sensory inputs. A FFB stick may affect my accuracy but I'ld rather have the sensation it provides than not. So a rumble seat, game chair, Butt Kicker what ever you might call it increases the sensory inputs immensely and more true to life than a FFB stick. So, you hear Archie barking all around your rickety assed crate and your engine maybe takes a piece of shrapnel and starts to run rough, you know how that feels-anxiety, oh bloody 'ell, imagine that you feel the effects of this. The percussion of the closest Archie bumping your wire, stick and canvas bird about. Your steady humming and smoothe vibrating engine suddenly lurching, coughing and spitting with you praying the vibration doesn't totally stop because when it does, she's dead. And you? Well I wish I could have all of you over to my domicile one at a time to see for yourself. It may not be for all. But in my ever so humble opinion you just don't have a virtual WWI cockpit without this. Complements OFF BH&H very nicely I say. My best to you and thanks for reading, Jim p.s: please don't start showing up unannounced
  3. Siggi, enjoy the sun while you may. You've got what seems like a sweet new WWI sim waiting for you at home. Best to you and family, Jim
  4. That was fun Lou. My wife was shouting ,shoot shooooot!
  5. It's been in there all along. Fun, huh?
  6. Be glad you are not playing a trench war sim. Shell shock must have been brutal IRL.
  7. BuB,drop your clouds to 2 if you want an increase of fps. You'll see little or no graphical difference. Maybe try it for a look/see otherwise it seems to me you are getting satisfactory fps.
  8. Salty, you sure picked a great time to enlist. Welcome!
  9. As far as impracticle goes how about the grappling hook idea early on. Lou I've seen a few pics now and then of the Davis. Always thought Ild like to have one in sim.
  10. Easy thing to do, don't worry. As you can see your question was understood as intended and our fine lads answered you very respectfully. I might add a reason to choose OFF is this wonderful forum itself. I have gained so much for being a member. Information about OFF, WWI history, beer, making arrowheads, computers and gear, and then there's the commaradarie. Do yourself a favor join us now and maybe get another sim in the future.
  11. Steve, this sim has been a constantly changing, learning and growing experience for me. Just when I get used to one thing there is another change. Some of that has just been upgrading my gear. But then I tried skinning too. All the patches and Dev improvements makes flying this sim a "dynamic campaign" in itself. And I love it!
  12. Hellshade. Thanks for your post. I thought maybe it was just me being a fanboy. But no, you see these things too. It's not my overactive imagination. It does almost feel like a new sim, 3.5 indeed. How did I get so lucky to get in on this sim? Seems the sky is the limit for our OBD heroes.
  13. Check your six my brother! It has been reported that a certain german has infiltrated the British ranks and may be flying a Brisfit. What nefarious intentions he may have are as yet unknown. Beware your new sqaudmates.
  14. Hi m8, there you are! Good to have the work. Good for us to have you more active here. The new patch has really made a difference. Hard to define how, somehow. I flew an Se5 and it seemed to be in hi-res. Maybe my imagination but the sound seems different too. Find some time to fly and do keep us better entertained will you?
  15. You give me the idea of us OFF fliers maybe sending a little wav file of ourselves and that be mixed/ combined to provide the din during briefings. Probably stupid, maybe too much trouble. Just a thought, but you are right. Sounds like a resteraunt with females in the mix.
  16. Quote HPW "Ooooh, I like the new artwork on the main screen! You even have a 'tross on the front to make Olham a very happy camper. I assume OvS is responsible for the new screen? Great job! I also like the more periodic looking artwork in the setup and loading screens. Feels even more immersive." I agree with you HPW about the new art look and feel. I may be wrong again but I think the new graphic look is the work of Pol and Paarma. I really like it alot.
  17. I do the same Duce. Works all natural like.
  18. Did a flight with the new Scenario option. No story just pics. I'm really impressed with the changes made in this patch. May not show in pics but I saw improvement in many aspects.
  19. I'm not so vain to think Winder did it for me. But in a thread "what would you like to see?" I had said that I would like to see people, crewmen etc, and to have buildings you can enter and see/do things in there. The new patch gives us that now at least to a degree and it is one of those immersion things that I appreciate. I'm rather glad to be the first to report it. Thanks so much Winder. It may be a somewhat minor aspect of the new patch but it took a lot of work and time and is very good.
  20. Holy crap! Awesome changes! I love the new look, more atmospheric of the times IMHO. Found some crewman in a hangar. Was he always there? I see no change in FPS either. Thank you. I did a Scenario flight and I swear the whole sim runs smoother. My frame rates dipped in heavey action in the clouds but there was no stutter. Hardly seems possible.
  21. Pol, done. Thanks for letting me help a little and thanks again for all you do. Hey those trenches look like an improvement. I'm at 95% download now, getting close.
  22. Pol, may I post this patch info at the Aerodrome Game/Sim forum?
  23. I got some pics somewhere.... I could not find my old pics and what with the new patch I decided to take some new ones. Well as I've said many a time if you go fartin'about you never know what you're gonna see... some of this is new to me. Was it there all along or is it the new patch?
  24. Thank you OBD this is great! Before we know it we'll have even more planes too. You guys are the best!
