  1. Scout, watch the "review" after a mission ended. The sim tells some data and detail from your actions there. So, these at least are known to the sim; and if you mention these data, they might be compared?
  2. Richard Wagner (* 22. Juni 1893 in Kiel; † 28. Seefliegerabteilung in <a href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiel-Holtenau" title="Kiel-Holtenau">Kiel-Holtenau. Sorry, WIKI in English didn't have him. Short: he flew for DORNIER ; from 1924 to 1928 he flew some records on the DORNIER "Wal" seaplane. He died in an emergency landing on the Sims lake, through a "waveless water situation", which is feared by pilots, as you can hardly estimate your distance to the water.
  3. Baldric, you can write all names into the upper slot, with a comma between them; they will wander to the left, while you write on. The same with the report; you can write on and on. When you press the arrow to the left on your keyboard, between letter keys and numpad, you will get to the beginning again, arrow right gets you back to the end of it.
  4. Update 09/09/09 22:11 Berlin time (GMT +2) itifonhom, Germany, added. the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  5. Welcome to the madhouse, Itifonhom! Got your PM and will put you on the map. Ah, now I got it: E.T. phone home ! Right?
  6. Exactly, Ben! I have not yet tried all the fighters in the sim - and then there are the two-seats!
  7. Thanks a lot, Mack! I'll use that as a guideline. So, Creaghorn may be right there - the sim can't possibly manage too many kills. Cause you say, 80% are confirmed. That means 8 out of ten you reported. But as you only reported 10 from 20 kills you really made, that would be a confirmation of 8 from 20. Then it's about the same with me. Maybe the sim doesn't "believe" so many kills. All ziss butchery for ze fazzerland, ant zen zey do not even give me der whol confirmashionz. How shall I ever get ze Blue Max ziss vay?! Oh, I know - I vin it at Lou's competishion!
  8. What has god to do with this? It seems he only watched it happen. And mercy may be the luxury of the "chivalrous knights of the air" - nothing for the trenches. I'm not like that. I rarely ever cross the lines. But when enemy fighters come to our side to kill my comrades or me, I do me best to shoot them down. As quick as any possible. Before they kill my flight or me. But I'm not mercyless. I wouldn't fire at a craft, that made an emergency landing. Jasta 12 often forced opponents to land on their side. If I could do that, I would. But how can you possibly "hunt" some other pilot? When I tried that, the other enemy pilots mostly killed all my flight members. So, I have come to the conclusion, that it's best to damage as many of them as possible right at the beginning. And then shoot them down. Call it butchery - I call that war. May be the same in the end. But surely not a hunting party.
  9. Pol ,Winder - is that so? Does the claims manager only want ONE pilot's name? Creaghorn, then I must live with that. I'm not on a hunting party here - I have to fight a war.
  10. There was a pilot of that name, I saw in Wiki German. The composer died 1883 in Venice.
  11. Just checked that pilot: 25 claims - 5 confirms. And that's how it is always for me - an absolute misbalance. But okay, thanks for all your work on this, Lou.
  12. Okay, here is a claim report of a pilot, who has 27 claims by now; and 5 confirms. This report is THE FIRST one; it is still pending. Later ones got rejected or confirmed. Can that be right? Do you have that too, Lou? Here's the report: 5/;5/;1917 ;16h;18 ;Flanders ;Aertrycke ;Reconnaisance ; Flying: Albatros DIII early. On this day claims: ;4 ;Sopwith Pup . ; On our escort fo reconnaisance craft, we where engaged by 6 - 8 Sopwith Pup from RNAS-9. I sent my wingmen to defend the 5 DFW C.V from FA 13, Aniche; while I got jumped at by three Pups lower. In a desperate turnfight, I shot down the ace Arthur Treloar 'Art' Whealy at 15:48 h; NE of Ypres. Then I fired several bursts into the craft of Harold Stackard; his craft crashed at 15:51 h. Now I engaged the third Pup and it crashed only a minute after Stackard, at 15:52 h, northeast of Ypres. With three of my wingmen near me, I climbed towards the front line to reach the DFW C.V, when I spotted a single Pup following them. The fighter attacked, but got hit by a rear gunner's machine gun fire. When the Pup turned away, I followed him, and a turnfight began. The other pilot was Oliver Colin 'Boots' Le Boutillier. He tried his best with the handicapped craft, but I got him; his craft crashed at 16:03 h. All our DFW where still flying. Three of my men had to make an emergency landing, but are alive and well.. Witnessed by: Joachim Heubenstamm, Eberhard Steiner, Richard Oppenfeld, Wilhelm Jaroch, Theodor Osterkamp Status : Pending ;75
  13. Ah, a fellow Canadian! Thanks for the link, Shred!
  14. Wow, great pics, Sitting Duck - makes me take off my officer's cap and perform a deep bow to the modellers. I had not thought in the least, it was THAT MUCH detailed to build!
  15. Wow, Zoomzoom - didn't know this page! That is brilliant!!! Thank you very much, Herr Leutnant!!!
  16. Yeah, clobber the basterd, Zoomzoom! Advantage of height would be good - and then hammer down on him.
  17. Danke, Creaghorn, werd ich heut abend mal lesen. Hab ich beim ersten Mal verpasst.
  18. After some research, I can present you my results about the Seeflieger base Norderney. There was even a supply railway line from the harbour along the base to the stores south of town. There has also been heavy Naval artillery at several spots on the island, and the railway used to connect them all (so it went much further). But I couldn't find aerial pics of the artillery. No pics found of the WW2 airfield they had on Norderney. From all that, there is only one of the concrete ramps left, that was used to get the seaplanes out of the water. The railway was still in use in my childhood; when we visited the island, it brought us into town.
  19. Guys, we have so many craft here already - just fly them. The other craft will surely come sooner or later, New Nupes are in development, also the Fokker E.V / DVIII The dev team love their baby, I'm sure, and so they will carry on making it "the whole experience" of WW1 air combat. Just be patient and fly your missions.
  20. Have never experienced such "teleporting" - you are absolutely certain, they where your Flight 1? You read the names? That they where not on TAC, could be, because they came from high up, or from clouds or thick mist - cause when you can't see them, they don't appear on TAC. As for the long flight route you where given: just click "optional flight", until you get a distance, that suits you. I do that all the time, until I get flights of 40 - 50 miles. I need action, not hours.
  21. Here is a site, where you can see, how many Cronyns are spread where. They seem to have settled mostly near their arrival point in the new world. The name might have Polish roots, from Kronyn? http://names.whitepages.com/last/Cronyn
  22. For marching, I can contribute a little. In our army duty time we first have the Grundausbildung (general training or so), which I had at the pioneers. We did two long distance marches of 25 kilometers each time. On the first, we still had simply boots, and our heels where down to the raw meat. At the second, we had laced boots, and I put plasters on the heels crosswise before - then it was okay. They tried to train us marching plus singing, but I sabotaged that, cause I didn't like the songs. So, when we where just fine in the same marching step, and the sergeant shouted "Ein Lied!" (A song!), I changed my step. The whole middle row behind me now did the same - brattapram, brattapram!! When they where almost through, i changed quickly back to the right step - brattapram, brattapram!! The sergeant freaked out, screaming his head off, our marching sounded as if a goat was s**tting on a snare drum, but after several attempts they gave up about the singing, and we where now named the most unmusical battery, with a Camel walk. But we didn't have to sing those songs!
  23. Must check AMAZON and EBAY for Bob Pearson - would be nice to have, for a skinner!
  24. What I really wonder about, is the fact, that I have so many claims, and so little confirms. My pilots all have something like this: 27 claims, but only 5 confirms 35 claims, but only 9 confirms 17 claims, but only 3 confirms When I look into (game folder) > campaigns > campaign data > pilots > pilot claims I will find the earliest claims still pending with numbers of 73 or 68 or 86, and later claims being confirmed or rejected. Could some of you please check, if you find that too?
  25. Your system should do fine, I'd say. Make sure any background programs are off. For configuration, go to "Workshop", "Graphics config" > "File" There is "Change display options"; set resolution there. There is also "Custom settings" ; set your sliders there (try 5, 5, 3, 4, 4, 3 there first, go higher if no stutters) There is also "Window" > and there then: "Overrides" and "Texture Info" To set those, check the thread "You want more eyecandy?"
