  1. Rickity, here's a website of the airial photographer Werner Dittmann. There are photo albums (many!) and SANKE cards! And I can read a little Sütterlin, so post the Marseille text, MK2! Cheers; Olham
  2. My goodness - I could really do with a better monitor. I'll be with it!
  3. Very impressive collection - they look so close suddenly. Especially with Udet I had this impression. Wonder how he felt in this funny special uniform (looks like one of Goering's designs).
  4. Krasny and Ras; TrackIR will improve your overall view, and situational awareness immense. It will NOT improve your shooting skills. Shooting will rather get more difficult, as your head moves now. But you can press "precision", that's like stiffening up your body and neck. Now you can't check your six so quick anymore, but therefor aim and shoot more precise. Your shooting skills must be developed. Forget the gunsights. Find out, were the tracers meet (when you have two guns) - that's your "hit spot". Do some Quick Combat, and shoot at planes. When they come from right to left, shoot somewere in front of them. The faster they fly, the more distance in front of them. That is deflection shooting. It will sooner or later become a feeling. You will now feel, were to shoot. That's when you've got it. Then, you can become an ace.
  5. Click on "add reply", and below the text field, you will find "manage attachments". There, click "search / durchsuchen", there search for the folder and picture, click "open / öffnen", and then click "upload". That's it. See you!
  6. The best reward to me is, that you really seem to enjoy it. And now that you told it, you may as well show some air combat pics of this flight in the skinning section. Have fun!
  7. Hey, Widow - when you start FRAPS, there are choices for framerates and screensize. Try half size, and frames max 25 or so. That should also make it smaller. You can later still view it full screen. Just try.
  8. Hey, wazzamatta here? Everybody feeling insufficient suddenly? That's what all the real artists feel most of the time - that it should be better. But why not let each other benefit from your ideas, your spirit. And ask for advice and improvement tips? Rooster - did you take the skins out again, or can my system just not open them?
  9. I would have also voted for Udet, but dictators don't let people vote even. Udet, when he had become a Luftwaffe general, finally killed himself, when he saw, which direction everything went in Germany. A real shame - the fatty should have rather done so.
  10. Thank you, Tuba, and all. We will try the setup on Thursday or weekend, and I'll report after that. Edit: Typhoon wrote in his signature: "The only stupid question is the one not asked" (or similar). I think, this forum is a great opportunity to get the most possible out of the BHaH, WW1 combat aviation, and even anything else, as this is a community, we won't find so easily elsewere. I wish, everyone would drop their shame to ask a "stupid" question. You'll always find gentle people, who are more than willing to answer them.
  11. UncleAl: Control X - cancels any existing Warp Thank you for the reminder - haven't known this; very useful, Uncle.
  12. Thank you all! I have dug out the rudders again, and tried them on a plane, that's more forgiving, than the Albatros. I made two QC scrambles in a Fokker Dr.1, attacked by S.E.5a. Although the Dr.1 started with disadvantage, it was quickly above the attackers, and appeared to be incredibly agile with use of pedals. I could even almost do "impossible" things; like 180° turns with no more than a 30° bank. Only aiming and shooting will take some new learning now in combination with this new rudder. But I could already down two planes in each scramble. So that looks promising. Thanks again.
  13. Enemy aces can be downed by you, but not killed. Nor can you in any way change the outcome of the war, so NO for both. And NO: my name is not Pol (Lol!)
  14. Flieger Test Dummy just did a "test ride" on the Dr.1, with HOTAS Cougar and his pedals reinstalled. My god, what a ride! I thought I saw one of the pilots of an S.E.5a vomit out the cockpit - dizzydizzy - but they had no chance to get behind this plane. Shot two down in this scramble, and now I'm hot for more. What this plane can perform with realistic rudder, is incredible!
  15. I only know the pier of Brighton (I think it was). My neighbour has made a flight through Germany, and even found the Berliner Tor (Berlin gate?) with the 4 horses on it. Wonder, how he got refueled?
  16. Oh my - didn't I mention, I was rather a pc idiot? (But, well - perhaps you mean, if I get to grips with it, everybody can. Lol!)
  17. Widow - here we agree. Even on a 19", the view can only concentrate on the mid section - for the corners, you must really look there, away from the mid. So, I don't want a widescreen. It's a bit like panorama fotos - funny to look at, but you can't see the whole at once.
  18. So you're from Texas, eyh? Running 2 x 285 GTX's, you may only need an extra water tower for cooling. (Lol!!!) Well, for the settings of the overrides, maybe CAMELJOCKEY might know the best?
  19. Aren't we merry men already - with a combat flight sim, leaving nothing much to desire, and a forum, that could hardly have any better members, Gous? Cheers, mate
  20. Take the S.E.5a then - a solid, reliable plane; even when you fly her tired or half drunk. Have fun!
  21. The Dr. 1 is not as beautifully shaped as the Albatros. I found it hard, to think of anything, I'd like to see. So I did a version first, that looks rather German military field grey. It's close to a plane, I've sent a video of, in the main forum. More will follow. PS: most work was, to make new, clean Iron Crosses - I didn't like them to be on a white band always. But on the sides, they are a bit too large.
  22. And still believeable for an Allied plane - good work, RedDog.
  23. Nevemind, Lou. He's in THAT mood again - I assume, Jasta 12 just kicked his boot again.
  24. This looks really helpful to me about the IP adresses. I've copied and save this, and will use it on Thursday's meeting. Thank you very much, Tamper!
  25. No, we all mess around sometimes. I even regularly, when trying to win the war single handed, and save every flight member personally. You have compared the pilot file with other intact files? Or you could make a new transfer with another pilot, (after saving his data), and see, what it needs?
