  1. Welcome back, Barnstorm - you'll like it here, I'm sure. By the way - how is it going with donations to the forum? I'd like to make one.
  2. It WILL help a lot, for your situational awareness, RICKITYCRATE! First, you may get dizzy from the wide view angles you cover now. But then, you can check much better and quicker, who is were.
  3. Hey, Siggi Hope, this doesn't get too "nice & friendly" for your calibre. You're a well regarded gentleman here now, I'd say - if you like it or not. (Hehe!!)
  4. If that had been my aerodrome, were you landed, they wouldn't have bothered. It happened to me several times recently, that I didn't reach my base, or just on the last drop. After warping that was - somehow it doesn't manage fuel too well. Cause, before each flight, I fill in the petrol for one-and-a-half flightpaths ( roundtrip: 60 miles; fill in for 90 miles). That way I have some reserve for dogfights. But warping, I always seem to loose more.
  5. WomenFly2, you don't have to worry about your "status" - just send us more, and post more often; that way you will become listed as a "valued member" soon - although you always have been right that to us all anyway.
  6. 01:02 h after midnite in Berlin - download worked well. I'll look at it tomorrow, so I can't say anything right now, but thank you, Gous. 01:02 h after midnite in Berlin - download worked well. I'll look at it tomorrow, so I can't say anything right now, but thank you, Gous.
  7. Hahahahahaaa!! Now you could have seen me perform a barrel roll without a plane! Geeez! Some days, it is SO MUCH FUN here, you don't want to leave! But I have to - I'm cooking with/for friends today. More fun! God, life can be so fantastic!
  8. Yez, Rick, evvrybody knows, ze Dshermans are fantastic marksmen! Mmuahahahahaa!!! I had collisions before the last patch. After patching, the wingies stayed away more. But they aren't wizzards. When you turn into them, they can't react quick enough sometimes. Situational awareness and overview is the key, I think. Cause, when I happily turned with everyone in the furballs, it happened all the time. I just couldn't check all directions - someone might be directly under your plane. Pressing "return" every now and then seems to help - as if they can locate you better then. I do that in dogfights even, when I haven't ordered them to attack. And then they stay behind me.
  9. Well, I just looked up the word "panache" - and then it fitted you so well (Lol!) Regard it as a very honour - they don't do that with everyone.
  10. Could I use that with my ATI card as well?
  11. How could they know??? (Lol!!!) Good one, FATES!
  12. Thanks a lot, Siggi - I'm sure it won't be wasted on him. And I'll write him a message.
  13. Fair enough, and the honest way. I'll do so too, when I've come to grips with this all. Right now, I find it very hard to survive even three flights in a "hot" area" - so I'm still learning.
  14. It's no big thing. In "controls", look for "next target" and put that command on a button or key you want it. I did that with all the wingmen commands, cause sometimes I need some "help", or want them to "return". Works quite well - it's just one set up, and offers you much better fighting chances. So, I have the "help" call on a button, I can reach with my pointing (?) finger. Helped me a lot in a furball with numerous SPADs. My wingman 1 came straight for helping me out - it almost made my eyes wet. PS: targets marked, can be switched to by "F4" (you see the enemy plane then). When you're in that view, and press "next target" again, you can switch through them all and see, what they are. It's a cheat, okay, but good for learning.
  15. As no one asked for it yet, I'd like to make a demand for someone else. I know, that RICKITYCRATE wanted one very much, but he is at work now and can't take chances. May I ask you for him, instead?
  16. Quote: It's a lot more dangerous up there these days. You can say that! To the claim problem: I noticed, that the wingies don't follow too well, whe I climb steeper than 10 on the instrument. But you can mark one Fee as target first, and order attack. Then they'll do their climbs. As soon as you're up there with them, you order "R" return, so they don't spoil your day.
  17. How did you get the line under your pic, Widow? When I try to change my sig, it is in the right big frame?
  18. As long as she's laughing warmheartedly, I'd say, it's all right with you two. She could have given you a strange look - that would have made me worry (Lol!)
  19. Hi, Siggi At start, you could fly with 75% throttle, until they are with you. (When I warp, they are always all there right with me after that - but wait with warp, 'till the last one is airborne). I confess, that I kept the blue text on, that tells me, when I downed a plane. Takes some off the immersion, perhaps, but I KNOW I killed one - and then I can look up the time and position, for the claim report. I had it once or twice, that I didn't get a claim report, although I definitely shot a plane down. Don't know, why - s**t happens. Sometimes.
  20. Don't know about your head switch. Does it work in fixed angles, or not at all? If you can't find "glide view", you must check "controls" for something like "toggle views" or similar. If you put that on a button, you should be able to change views. In "Quick combat", you can choose ANYTHING! You can even start on the runway. There should be a menue on the left, were you can choose your opponent's plane type, and how many they are, if they are advantaged or disadvantaged, were you start, weather etc. Engine start should be "E", but the starting process takes a while. It shouldn't be necessary in mid air.
  21. Wow! Great pics of the process/progress, Achim made on the D VII. Couldn't check the rest yet. Thanks for sharing, WomenFly2!
  22. Never had a look at airspeed, too. It only worries me at the point, when the wings of my Albatros crack away. But as I don't know exactly, at which airspeed they will do that, it's useless for me. When I can "feel" the craft's behaviour and situation in the air, I'm fine. With the Alb, I got there. (Well, breaking wings recently tought me a lesson, I hadn't know yet - don't dive like the SPAD you're hunting!)
  23. Hey, Winder - stay cool! I knew the "help button", but thought, that most pilots still hadn't thought of the idea to create an own photo, or didn't know, how to do it. So I offered advice. But, off course Red-Dog's post No.2 would have had to be made to you (Lol!)
  24. For ze case, zatt you vill join the Kaiser's Luftstreitkräfte, I vellcome you! Vee could need every hand zatt can hold ze stick! (Laughter) You vill find yourself in ze priviledged posishion, to tchoose ze Jasta, you vant to join. So, vellcome! Ant if you should join ze crumpets, I vill meet you in ze skies over Flanders!
  25. There's also "DXTBmp" (freeware - must GOOGLE for it). With that, you can browse through the skins ( but still they'd be the base texture files). I'm thinking of taking the work on me, to show at least pics of all the ace skins of Albatros planes. But that alone is a helluvalot of skins. Paarma and OvS must have found little sleep, when they did all these.
