  1. Hi, CW3FS To change your controls, you hit "escape" in a flight / QC; then in the menue appearing on the right, you choose "controls". To change any of them, do NOT try to overwrite the preset one first, by click "add new assignment". Now you can make a new assignment on the keyboard, or press the button, you'd like to use. After that, you could delete the previous assignment, but you can leave it as well. In the wingmen commands, you'll see "help", "attack my target", "spilt" and "return", for example. All of these can be put on a button of the stick. I use TrackIR 4 with the sim, and it is absolutely fantastic! Hope, I could help. Have fun! Olham
  2. Hey, Ronbo All former RB3D players, I read posts of here, are overwhelmed with OFF "Between Heaven and Hell"; and so am I. But it will feel much more realistic, and therefor harder to survive (unless you choose easy settings). I can't think of anything else, I'd like to fly more (except, perhaps, Oleg's "Battle of Britain" - if it ever appears). About the skins: it is unbelievable, how many skins I could choose from. I'm flying German planes mostly, and the team did ALL the skins of the aces, very beautifully. You can choose any of these for your own plane, if you like. And, yes, you can create your own skin, but it's more work, than in a pre-configured "ace paint shop". You have to have Photoshop or another program, to work on bitmaps with. But some of us did many own skins already. Best see our sticky thread about skinnig (it has an extra place, you'll find it on the forum's first page/list of content)
  3. That was a real great fight! I had a similar one against aces in Pups, with a D III. I managed to survive it, and kill three of the six. But, as I had lost all my men, or they had got carried away by their opponents/fights, I didn't get a single claim allowed (errenious)! That was hard! My new wingman with Jasta 15 may be like your Otto Gund - I'll report, when we reached the first 10 flights.
  4. Thank you, Jammer You will soon come up with something similar? Your slideshow is promising! And nice music - please, show us some moving action!
  5. Leutnant Hasse Wind, I vellcome you on ze right side of ze lines - ze Kaiser's side! Here, you vill get ze tough planes vizz ze right amount of ammunission, and almost all have TWO gunzz! And you can paint your bird however crazy you like - vee are ze "flyink ssircuss"! It may not last long, sso: enjoy your f(l)ights! [see the thread "a tear comes to the eyes" by ROOSTER. It IS hard, to live longer here. But as long as it lasts, it's worth every second. And all you said about this sim, is true! Welcome!]
  6. ROOSTER, 21 missions flown is a helluvalot - at least for me! So, don't give up! You made a mistake, and in war, one mistake could end your life. In your case, it "only" spoiled one sim pilot's carrer. Spaatz's kills-to-mission relation shows, that he was already one of the more careful pilots. He didn't make one or two kills per mission. He could have lasted longer. Learn from the incident. And climb back into your cockpit. I wish I could show a log with 20 and more missions yet. (I'm working on it!)
  7. GAW & RICKITY The Freak Brothers are still printed here in Germany (at least some years ago), as Special Editions, in Rotbuch Verlag. I have just found "The Mexican Odyssee" again. And I have little books about only Fat Freddy's Cat. All absolutely great stuff - can read it every year again.
  8. Yes, and I want an Albatros! We could then pedal with'em on the Steuben parade.
  9. I'm pretty disappointed about that. I had been Forum member since October 2008, and had made two donations in that time. Also, in addition to that, I had given money for Icky's new rig and monitor. Don't know, what tackled them...
  10. Luiz As far as I know, you CAN hide in the sun or clouds. Before the sim appeared, the developers had said so, I think to remember. I spotted a flight of 5 planes on my screen, but they remained labeled as "bogeys", when I came close enough, they should have turned into friend or foe. The same should work for the player/pilot.
  11. Leutnant Mahlo, Jasta 2, Bertincourt; 1. Oktober 1916 Kameraden! I have the sordid task, to inform you all here, that our Kamerad, Flieger Rudolf Spaatz, did not return from the Alarmstart, some of our Jasta made this afternoon. Groundcrew saw him perform a tight turn towards a Nieuport, but due to bad view, he hit trees besides the runway and crashed fataly. I am particularly sad, cause I made several sorties with him as a wingman, and I can say, he never failed me there. With seven confirmed kills, he was one of our best aces. Two more confirmations, and his promotion to Feldwebel were in my post from the Hauptquartier, half an hour ago. He would have been proud to receive both. I know, that you all - that we will always remember him as a most friendly Kamerad and one of our heroic fighter pilots. Meine Herren! Please raise your Glass with me now, and when we've emptied it, smash it on the floor. Salut!!
  12. Wonderwarthog (like in Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers?), For the Force Feedback, I think UncleAl is the man to ask - perhaps in a PM? The screenshots are on C: my files, there the OverFlandersFields folder. You make them with F12.
  13. Bleech!!! Zis guy iz shootink up all der beautiful Albatros! Vait, until vee meet, Tripehound! Isn't it great to have TWO of them guns?
  14. Maybe best to see, what Gous is coming up with in his tutorial, WIDOWMAKER. I can't help you really, as I don't know, how the various menues and tool of Photoshop are named your side of the north sea. But so much: I don't work with the original layers, as I can't get to them. DXTBmp converts the dds files into 24 bit bitmaps. I usually choose a skin, that is close to what I want to get. If it's bright wood, I'd like to have in another tone, I choose the wood with the "magic stick" (?) and go to "picture", "variations", and add red or yellow, until I'm pleased. If I want stripes on it, I frame the area with the rectangle, and overpaint the field with the colour wanted, but only with a covering/intensity (?) of 20 percent. If that's too faint, I repeat it. Now I have a shimmer of new colour, with the wood structure or weathering still shining through. Now I go to "picture", "variations", and vary brightness or darkness, or colours, until it gets right. If I want yellow or white parts on a dark fuselage, I cut them out of a white or yellow skin, and place them in the right position of a dark skin. It's good to have 4 - 5 skins chosen, that may provide you with the right parts. The wolf head was a jpeg from the web, I changed just a little with "variations", and "finger" (?), which I used to wipe up more fierce eyebrows. It's rather simple, how I work.
  15. Thanks, Beanie! You fly Albatros planes in OFF (as your avatar would say)? How do you get on with them? For skinning, I think they are great, cause they are beautifully shaped planes; and you can use almost any colour on German side. Keep them coming!
  16. Haha! I pinched myself not to write that, Widow, but had the same thought, I admit. Vanessa - you're getting us pretty mixed up here! (Lol!)
  17. This was made in Phase2 already, but might still be okay for use as desktop. So, if anyone wants - feel free to use it. The Albatros is an own skin I made for my neighbour.
  18. Just grabbed together more Albys. Some of them might still be shots from old Phase 2; or at least in a lower resolution than I use now.
  19. Thanks a lot, Widow - but no reason for jealousy. I even think, you're doing a much "deeper" job on the skins than I do. I haven't even come to grips with that NVIDEA stuff - maybe I only installed the PDFs, cause that was all I found (Lol!!!)
  20. Hi, Widowmaker You're getting on great - and on the German planes, you can do almost anything. I downloaded the NVIDEA stuff (the upper file of the two), but can't open a dds file in Photoshop. How is the plugin to be used / activated?
  21. QUOTE: that was the first time it made me duck, i felt like a right twat as i sat there laughing to myself, or should i say at myself... No reason to feel ashamed, I'd say - rather a good example for immersion. Like in a sad moment in a good movie, you may have tears in your eyes, although you know, it's all acting and cuts. Speaks for this sim - and TrackIR.
  22. Thanks for that, Widow Great stuff around here - good you got this extra place for skins. I'll have to take closer looks later. And will post more of my designs, too.
  23. Thanks for your invitation some time ago, to come here, Widowmaker I was just too busy with other problems (you know what I mean - Lol!) But now I just grabbed some screenshots to post here. Will add more later. The "Blue Wolf" is a D Va, I'm flying in Jasta 15, April 1918. The yellow "Milan" (Red Kite) is a D V, I use with Jasta 12, 1917 And the red wooden Albatros D II is my plane at Jasta 2, September 1916.
  24. Somehow can't open your attachments. I get the lines saying "attachment", but they are not attached in the same way, as others, were I see a reduced picture, that I can click on to enlarge.
  25. Attachment doesn't work, Beanie. To make an attachment, best go "more options", then search for the file to be uploaded, then press upload (Max. single upload size: 3 MB), then press "add reply".
