  1. Hi, Todt von oben My advice: put "pause" to a button of your stick, or on "space", were it's easy to hit. Then, paused, you have all the time in the world. You can switch through outer views of your plane with F4, you can turn around your plane with the HUD button, and zoom in or out (plus and minus), until you get the best view. Then, switch off all the text and instruments, and finally hit "F12". The screenshots are in "my files" or how it's called, on C: my files > CFSOverFlandersFields (more or less, don't know the English file path names); you'll find it. Have fun (and show some here!) Olham
  2. Yes, that was a plane, they didn't give to newbies first. Try FULL rudder left in both turns. And someone said a while ago, that one of the turns (I think it's the right one) was so bad, that some pilots rather did a three quarter left turn to go right (?), instead of one quarter right turn. (My aviation English is lacking - hope it's understood).
  3. 1. you can have the TAC on; that's like a radar screen. It can be switched to "All", Airplanes", "Buildings", "Vehicles" and "Ships". You'll see further away objects as white specs. Closer to you, friends become blue, enemies red. You can mark a target; that will then be a yellow spec. 2. You can have "labels on". All objects will now have a writing above them, including their distance to you. Distant objects will be "bogey", closer to you, the writing says, what it is. So, your wingmen appear with plane type, and their name even! Friend again in blue, enemies red. 3. You can fly "Quick flight" single missions. There are dogfight, escort or bomber attack. You can choose a lot; like your airfield, how many you are, or if you start in the air (various heights); weather, enemy plane type and number, and enemy skill (rookie, veteran, ace). But the best and most immersive are the campaign flights. You choose, which Squad. or Jasta you enter, and when in the war, and wich rank you want. Then, the flights come different every time. You can click for another flight route, when the first appears too long. And then, off it goes. When you put everything on most reality, it is really something to learn, and often very hard - a real challenge. But you could first put it on medium or simpler, to get into it. If you are an air combat simmer, and not an arcade flyer, you'll be absolutely right here! And welcome! Olham
  4. Wow! One of your skins? Good idea, that Egyptian eye! He may have thought: now we fly "partner look", we could as well demonstrate the Allies, how accurate our flying is. Perhaps he's just a very good pilot? I mean, YOU picked up a phone in mid flight (lol!!!) Good night, Widowmaker!
  5. Haha! Hi, UncleAl ! Good you're there. Would you take over, please? And good night from Berlin!
  6. Before I go to sleep, I put some pics in here. I wanted to put them into GALLERY above, but can't figure out, how that's done. Good night, everyone!
  7. Hahaha!!! That's a good one! Yeah, they always seem so proud of their little butterflies - dancing for you and the crews on the ground like a prima ballerina - that sometimes you think. they forgot, there's a war on! Lol!!!
  8. Tttiger, don't say such things. I really wish, you and all the others would write a bit more. I can see down below, that usually lots of our community are there, reading. Why don't you all tell us something? Maybe, Siggi and I talk too much - but perhaps we wouldn't, if all you others would come out a bit more. What did you experience? How was your best flight of the recent days? And no wrong shame - my English stinks, said Uncle, when he used to have another name. Maybe, it's not too good, but should I be ashamed of it and sit in my corner, only reading? Come on, all - give us some news!
  9. Above right at the Forum top, there's GALLERY. There I just saw some sim pictures. Now I'd like to put some in from BHaH - does anyone know, how that's to be done?
  10. Hey, Jim, nice you're here! I said it somewere before - since I use TrackIR, my framerates drop to 15 - 12, as soon as I start FRAPS to record. But I'll uprate my system now - it's rather building a new one almost. I got an almost unused GAINWARD HD 4870 with 1 GB for 180,- Euro from a friend (he sold it, cause it can't render movies - I don't need that). Also got 4 GB CORSAIR DOMINATOR DDR2 from him. Now, I'll get a CORE 2 8400 or 8600 CPU, and off it goes - the only weak part of the whole system will then be ME (Lol!) I'm a bit afraid though - the AI may also benefit from the possible speed?
  11. Ah, I see - must have missed something. Aaargh - now again: last post Olham. Couldn't you take over, Rickitycrate? I need some sleep (Lol!!) (here, it's 01:20 h after midnight)
  12. When it only happens at scrambles, you mustn't bother. You won't need the map there, cause you're at your airfield. There won't be waypoints necessary. Just don't press it.
  13. Absolutely right, Geier. This provides us with stuff for years. For the first time in my life, I really invest quite some money in my rig soon, cause I want to see this sim in all it's unfolding beauty; and still be able to make a FRAPS movie with good frame rates. (Ant zen, I vill flood ze worrld vizz breasstakink dogfight moovies! Mmmuahahahahaaaa!!!!)
  14. Hey, Siggi - come out of your cockpit! I'm used to read YOUR name everywere. Now it's mine! Good grief!! What's the matter with you? Pancake poisoning? Too much Sushi? Holidays???
  15. I didn't say, he NEVER flew an all red one, Jarhead. I just don't know. All I found so far, seem to say more or less the same - that he flew an all-red-plane short before his death. Here's another picture from the WELT MAGAZIN. http://www.welt.de/wissenschaft/history/ar...Rote_Baron.html
  16. Pol: Phase 4 maybe if we ever get there. There, there, Pol - hope I don't trace a tone of disappointment? Why shouldn't you get there some day? But let's have this for quite some time now. I had been really upset earlier on today. Nothing went my way. First flight: the wingman, I had called for help, "helped" me out with so much ammo into MY target, that it became HIS claim (Hey! That's not what I called you for, mate! You were supposed to shoot the planes OFF MY TAIL - not off my nose!) Second flight: after having shot down two SPAD XIII within short time, I collided with god-knows-whoom! Third flight: I did all my very best; led my flight away from 6 Nupes, to get into a better position. Attacked from there. Helped my wingman twice. But as soon, as I had dense own worries, them wingies were damn lost; didn't see anyone, after having finished off my FOURTH Nupe! And you guess it already: right - claims were called "erraneus"! I changed the words, I wiped the last plane out again - still: "erraneus"! Got nothing. Now, calmed down, I see, I still haven't done all the right things. Otherwise I would have brought at least one of my wings back home. This sim can really teach me a lot of the things I should be doing the right way. Great! I'll try again tomorrow...
  17. And here's another link to WINGS PALETTE. And the plane from March 1918, still red and green. http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww1/f/416/59/1/6 I saw a firing debate there at the Aerodrome about a photograph of the planes of two Jastas, I think it was. And a guy could pretty well proof - with photos he had taken there himself recently - that the old photograph was not taken at airfield A, but airfield B (can't remember, it was about Roucourt and Brayelles, or something). And the fine senior member, Dan San Abbott, seemed to have been wrong with ealier statements. So what? He must be one of those to ask a lot, cause he collected a lot of knowledge. But we're all only human. Sometimes we BELIEVE to know something. Or - perhaps we BELIEVE to know something all the time?
  18. This is the German Wikipedia site, Pips, as they seem to be more accurate about German planes. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fokker_Dr.I This is still no proof, that he hadn't flown an all red one earlier. But I think to remember a T.V. program about him, were they said, his early Dr.1 were only partially red; the rest was dark Fokker green. This picture show the all-red replica; underneath it's said, that it was the plane he flew short before his death - so, in 1918. I could well imagine, that a pilot, writing about a dogfight later, gets some details wrong. I mean, I often can't even remember plane types, Squad. Nr.s or markings after flying a SIMm, safe from my seat, with a cookie and coffee next to me (thanks, UncleAl, for the cookie-idea!)
  19. Good grief, CAMELJOCKEY - don't show that to your son!
  20. WELS: ...dumb me ! No, no - it's okay. There is just so much to learn and remember (Lol!!!) I checked the "pilot"-folder, and there "claims", and saw, that the full text was in there. In my log though, the last lines are missing. But I'm anyway still too bad to get ANYWHERE NEAR a confirmation with my claims.
  21. Yes, I saw one, going through the skins with DXTBmp. Think, it's also from RNAS 10.
  22. Hoghead - will the wingmen still remain low, when you press "R". I think, I noticed, that they get confused by very steep climbs. So I keep that horizon instrument on, showing my climbing angle. I don't go much higher than 10 - except in dogfights. For me, they are always there; even after warping. All fine.
  23. Great shot, Sitting Duck! More, please!
  24. Are you sure, uncle? He might be a Scott! (Lol!)
  25. British_Eh, the rank is NOT to be mentioned. You could mention, were you hit the plane, and what exactly happened to it. When the plane type was the same, I fill in just one line, and click 3 at the beginning. Aussie Pilot: I believe, that the claim gets less chances, the further away your witnesses were at the moment of the kill. You may get a good looking pending number, as the program finds lots of data, that it also collected. But in the end, it seems to be decisive, how near or far your witnesses were. Anyone here got a very good pending, but rejected claim, from a fight, were he/she was alone? That would clear it.
