Decal bleeding : does it bring issues?
Cliff7600 replied to Cliff7600's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
It was on purpose, it's not an issue. To have the number 01 or 81 with a stripe on the fuselage side, and not the other numbers. It's a accidental discovery, but it can be done for horizontal or vertical stripes around the number. The idea of the MiG-17K is from Cocas ; ) -
Decal bleeding : does it bring issues?
Cliff7600 replied to Cliff7600's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
Here's some screenshots of the trick with the bleeding decals : The line on the fuselage (and the airbrakes) is made by the number decal, that bleeds horizontaly. neat number decal bleeding number with a level 2 decal on the rudder I still think it's a good idea, but it seems that is the final point. -
It's the old one. I discovered it lately and I still have much fun with the old F-111 models.

Happy birthday Dave!!!

Late answer, sorry... In the "Mirage2000C1_Data.ini" file : [RightWing] ... Ymac=1.07 ---------------------------------------- [Engine] ... ThrustAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 ThrustPosition=0.0,-5.0,0.0 ---------------------------------------- [LeftSlat] ... Setting[1].Angle=15.0 Setting[1].DeployValue=5.6 Setting[1].RetractValue=2.3 Setting[2].Angle=25 Setting[2].DeployValue=6.7 Setting[2].RetractValue=5.7 [RightSlat] ... Setting[1].Angle=15.0 Setting[1].DeployValue=5.6 Setting[1].RetractValue=2.3 Setting[2].Angle=25 Setting[2].DeployValue=6.7 Setting[2].RetractValue=5.7 ----------------------------------------------- You can also renumber the fuel tanks (I guess...) FuelTankID=1 FuelTankID=2 FuelTankID=3 4,5...

I tried TF and GMT, and it doesn't work. Or I'm missing something... For the A-7K, the ground map mode fix : A-7K_AVIONICS.rar
-
Thanks for the answers : ) I'll try and report if it works.
-
Well, I tried TERRAIN_AVOIDANCE but it didn't work. It should work with "AvionicsDLL=Avionics60.dll" in the main ini file. But the A-7K has the "AvionicsDLL=Avionics70.dll" entry. So it's more something like this : AvailableModes=SEARCH,TWS,STT,ACM,GM,TV (search, track while scan, ???, air combat manoeuvre, ground map, tv)

Hi I'm editing the TMF A-7K files and I have a question about the cockpit lod meshes : Can somebody tell me the mesh name of these three ripple/interval selector knobs, please? The OUT file is quite unclear about mesh names (Drawcall_xxx...) (hoping that they're 3 different meshes and not only one) Did the A-7K had a terrain avoidance radar like the A-7D? The -K avionics.ini file shows only ground map mode. Btw... in the avionics.ini file, what's the right entry for terrain avoidance mode with the 70avionics.dll? I've tried "TA" and "Terrain_avoidance". Thanks

http://www.airvectors.net/avjag.html "The Jaguar A had a high-mounted wing with a sweep of 40 degrees and an anhedral droop of 3 degrees, with relatively small wing area for a smoother ride at low altitude. There was a leading-edge flap along the outboard section of each wing, and large, double slotted trailing edge flaps on both the outboard and inboard sections of each wing. There was a "dogtooth" between the outboard and inboard sections of the wing. There were no ailerons, roll control being provided by a two-section spoiler on top of each wing, just forward of the outboard flaps. There was a prominent "fence" between the inboard and outboard sections of the wing. Along with a conventional tail assembly, with all-moving one-piece tailplanes, there were two ventral fins. There were twin hydraulically-operated perforated airbrakes ahead of the ventral fins, under the wings. The hydraulic system was dual-redundant." ...as modeled in the current SF2 Jaguar A. Unless you have other sources that talk about some "wing ailerons of the Jaguar"?

(Can you please confirm the flaps angles? I think there's a difference between inner flaps and outer flaps.) Some pictures here : http://combatace.com/topic/81436-jaguars-flaps-extented/?do=findComment&comment=652228 Edit : disregard, inner and outer flaps are linked with the same animation.
-
I was wondering about the flaps extent angles of the Jaguar, and the difference between inner flaps and outer flaps. And I thought it was a good enough reason to post some shots : ) All from www.airliners.net Nice!!!

About the fuel tank cells : I don't have specific datas about the Jaguar tanks. Only thing is 5225 kg (from wikipedia : l ) (wrong! lol) Just using the min/max extent values from the data.ini file, I find (1000 liters = 1m x 1m x 1m ; 1 liter = 0.76 kg) FuselageFC1 = 1186.15 L -> 901.47 kg (edited to 1228.34kg) FuselageFC2 = 348.18 L -> 264.62 kg (edited to 360.58kg) FuselageFC3 = 348.18 L -> 264.62 kg (edited to 360.58kg) FuselageFC4 = 212.24 L -> 161.3 kg (edited to 219.8kg) LeftWingFC = 564.27 L -> 428.84 kg (edited to 584.35kg) RightWingFC = 564.27 L -> 428.84 kg (edited to 584.35kg) Giving a total = 2449.69 kg (internal) (now 3338kg) About the drop tanks : Each auxiliary fuel tank is given for 956 kg So 2449.69 + (956x3) = 5317.69 kg (internal + external) Which is above 5225 kg, but quite close. Change the drop tank values from 956 kg to 925.1 kg and all is fine... : ) (edited to 948kg) It would mean that the empty drop tank now weights 75 kg or 165 lbs. Just guessing... I edited the post to show more accurate values. It's not a fix, it's just my guess.

It works ok in WOE Changed few things to my taste and it's definitely a plane of choice, thanks! [FlightControl] ... GunBoresightAngle=-1

Yes, they would be awesome in USN grey too. Like early Crouze.

If I'm right, FAA Phantoms had been tested aboard a french carrier during exercise. About deck landing or catapulting everything worked. But the F-4 would not have been able to operate on the Foch or the Clémenceau because, on the long term, the deck would have been damaged by the exhaust temperture. FAA carrier on the pic French Aéronavale thought about buying A-4, not F-4, never.
