Which raises the question: How efficient was it? [which is to say, flak in general terms.] While flyers in OFF complain bitterly and often about flak, from what I've read, it was more of an annoyance than a danger...assuming you didn't just fly low and slow and offer your butt as a target.

Re-reading my CFS3 Disc, I see again that the name Microsoft does not appear until you get to the most miniscule type which affirms that they ultimately own it. But it's marketed under the XPLOSIV label, which is Empire Interactive Europe. Looks to me like Gates has sold off distribution rights. I even checked the Microsoft site. There it was: same disc. Now, Empire wants to sell discs...make them an offer on "X" numbers of copies.

All you have to do is, while the doc. is open in Photoshop, make a screen cap., which, by it's nature, is 72dpi, save as .jpeg. EDIT:...forgot to ask, which Photoshop filter are you using?

Why not contact the current distributor of CFS3 and cut him a deal on a bulk quantity, and simply issue OFF with both? I doubt if he has CFS3 flying off his shelves so fast that he couldn't negotiate. I bought mine for $9.97, if I recall rightly, from Amazon.com. Gotta' be some wiggle-room in there.

TEA IN A BAG? Brilliant. Now we won't have to fumble with that slippery little cannister. Holding the lid in your teeth while cranked over in a high-G turn, and extracting just the right pinch of tea for a single cuppa', while tracers whip past, and then...trying to stuff it into the Tea Receiver on the kettle [losing most to the wind and inevitably scalding the tip of your thumb] while a flapping aileron is about to tear loose...well...it's been trying on the nerves. And makes for a damned poor cup of tea in the bargain.. But now, [as soon as I read the bloody manual!] it'll be 'real tea' for the ol' Hauk, and "Six-of-the-best, trousers-down" for Harry Hun! Bruno Loerzer! That name rang a bell. I checked around, and sure enough, It was him. Lozenge pattern on top of wings. Wow! The Albatrosmeister goes Triplane? And a British Tripe at that! I think the character of the war just changed. Olham, whose Albatros are you chasing? I keep hoping that black and white paint scheme will turn up among my choices of adversary, but I haven't seen it yet. And while we're in Triplanes, does anyone know why the generator propellar [i'm assuming it's an electrical generator] on the strut turns so slow? Was it geared down?

I mentioned this book once before: SCALE AIRCRAFT DRAWINGS, from the publishers of Model Airplane News. This being Vol.!-World War I. It's filled with exqusitely detailed drawings, dimensions, performance tables and just about every square inch of white space is filled with engineering, and historical, notes. I recall pouring over these drawings, utterly facinated, as a kid. They still satisfy. [amazon.com had several used copies]

Very cool looking video, indeed. It would be interesting to get three people together for a multi-player dogfight movie: Two adversaries, and a camera plane that does not shoot but just tracks the action. All three planes would generate video clips for assembly later.

Ah yes, I neglected to specify...I go with the D.VIIF every time. Did a quick google, and found that it was given a beefed-up engine to enhance climbing ability. It worked.

It is indeed. When I first started flying OFF and getting the feel of WWI planes, I was under-impressed. True, it didn't 'stall and fall' like so many of the others. What I really wanted to see was its legendary ability to 'hang on the prop' and it didn't seem to want to do that. So I ignored it while I flew the others. Then, when I got back into a D.VII, knowing more about what's possible, I was very impressed. There are so many times when you're closing with another plane, you've almost got him, he starts climbing, the stall warning starts flashing on the screen and I'm praying, 'Give me two more seconds. Just two. OK, one. Almost there....and I squeeze off a nice long burst." I think a plane that grants that kind of fervent wish can truly be said to 'hang on the prop'.
