  1. My Fee pilot is still flying in 1916. The end of the war feels like a very distant dream. Collisions are less of a threat to him though, as there's considerably less maneuvering involved when flying the Fee.
  2. Good post, Hellshade. We mustn't forget that this is not our forum; we are all members here, yes, but there are rules that must be followed, and those rules are not set by us. It's like a being a guest at somebody's house. While such a complete deletion of a member's posting history is not typical, I trust it was not done lightly.
  3. That's pretty drastic, if everything he ever wrote has been deleted. He must have angered the wrong person(s), and seriously so. I personally never had any problems with Uncleal, but it seems that he never learned the lesson of staying out of trouble, especially from politically sensitive issues.
  4. I wish my French was a lot better... a great site.
  5. I recommend installing Bletchley's mods if you want to get rid of these ahistorical mission types. No more airfield attacks for Jastas, for example.
  6. Great reading, once again. Looks like Widowmaker is our BOC celebrity, making an appearance in each number.
  7. I think it would be great if HPW's DM improvements could be included in P4. Maybe it would be possible to have several DM options available in the workshop, so that it could be adjusted by the player, depending on how much of a challenge he or she is looking for?
  8. Book titles? Okay. Over Flanders Fields, or There and Back Again.
  9. Well, it's good to know that the cause of the problem has been found. I hope the devs can work their magic without too much trouble to make the skins work with the FM mods soon. I haven't had any problems with the DM mod, so that one I'm definitely keeping activated all the time. Thanks for your hard work, HPW and of course the OFF devs!
  10. I don't remember reading anything about such transfers either. But there was some cooperation, at least in the form of training, between the two branches. Many of the "normal" army and navy officers both saw the aviators of their respective branches as some kind of eccentrics. There was some talk about how the flying units attract the kind of people nobody wants to have as officers either in the army or the navy.
  11. How about Over Flanders Fields - Canvas Knights of the Sky?
  12. Jasta 11, April 1917, flying the Albatros D.III (early). I often have the Red Baron himself taking part in missions, so it's really easy to see when the skins are working and when they are not. Hard to miss that red Albatros!
  13. Sounds like Winder's reply might well be the solution to this problem.
  14. Doesn't the mod manager give an error message if something is not installed correctly? Everything else seems to be working just fine, but the ace skins are not showing with the FM mods activated. I really have no such computer skills that I could analyze this problem in more detail. But I don't want to try a complete reinstall and lose my pilots, so I'll just keep flying without the FM mods for now.
  15. In my case, the skins are shown with the DM mod on, but they are not there if I activate the FM mods. Can you help, Herr Prop-Wasche? I'd really like to use all of the mods at the same time.
  16. Elephant, I'm having the same problem. I have a test pilot in Jasta 11, and with the FM mod on, none of the aces have their own special skins. Jasta 11 is full of aces, so it's pretty noticeable.
  17. I think it's usually recommended to have a completely separate folder for games. That's what I have, and OFF works without any problems from there.
  18. Great pics, thanks for sharing them.
  19. I think Windows 7 truly is a real development. I don't miss XP at all, which is surprising, because I was very fond of it during all the many years I spent using it.
  20. It seems that OFF runs even better on my Win 7 64bit than it used to run on my XP.
  21. I wonder if the word "tackle" will be mentioned in the TIBOCN article? Sorry that we are ruining your thread, Widowmaker. Here, have a virtual beer as a consolation.
  22. I hope your tactic works, JFM. Maybe they could add some French two-seaters under the same hypnosis?
  23. I think that Buckler's book was published with a clear political goal in mind - to make Luftwaffe more popular in the years preceding WW2. It came out in 1937, didn't it? It was the kind of book the Nazi regime was glad to publish. I don't mean that Buckler was a Nazi - I have no idea if he was, but in those days, practically ever military-related book in Germany was somehow political. That was the nature of the NS regime.
  24. It doesn't even set here, for a while still.
  25. Creepy, though I'm not sure which one is more creepier, the voice or the "tackle".
