  1. I saw it mentioned in other site, and thought it might interest some of our Blighty mates. http://www.channel4....g-the-red-baron Lucky guys.
  2. Defender and Robotron... they are true classics. Probably the best ever arcades. Eugene Jarvis knew is business.
  3. I think you've a HP Pavillion a6353.de. This means that you've this motherboard. In this case as stated in the HP page you can only upgrade to QuadCore AMD Phenom X4 9500@ 2300. That means you wouldn't have any real advantage in upgrading. Not big difference. But to be sure I'd have to know what is your motherboard revision. That information is usually printed in the motherboard beneath the model name M2N68-LA. I think it's B2 not B3. So if all my suppositions are correct, I'm afraid creaghorn, in matter of CPU upgrade, you've no chance.:no2: Only by changing also the motherboard. And like all computer brands (HP, Dell, Fujitsu, Acer, Sony, etc) , we never know what is possible to do. It's a pity, your system would really benefit from a little more clock speed. Maybe OC it's possible.
  4. Sorry creaghorn, but I'm a Intel guy and not an AMD. So maybe Parky or for example BirdDogICT can be more helpful that I can be. However later at night I can give a look. Do you have an HP desktop? That motherboard reference doesn't tell me anything, it might be an Asus that is usually used with HP desktops. Do you have a motherboard manual? Or any other reference? I suspect it is a Asus M2N68-LA (NARRA3) but I'd like to be sure in order to be able to read the CPU support list.
  5. Wow. That's a fantastic piece of history, Lou.
  6. ... and Pong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pong
  7. And to think that the main inspiration for the Pac-Man's visual profile, was a margerita pizza with a slice removed. In a certain way, Iwatani, was touched by geniality. The history of video/computing gaming is filled with example like that. Those were the times where video game concepts and hardware were created out of nothing. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/article550758.ece
  8. Thanks for the video. What's your hardware? Do you use FRAPS to capture?
  9. Get well , Tony.
  10. I really praise this forum. The degree of civility is unequal. It's really I who am thankful, guys. Long live CA.
  11. Very fascinating. Every folk deals at his own way. It's a question of cultural background also. Generally, latins are more impulsive. But... As some may know, there was a dictatorship in Portugal which last 48 years. Ended in 1974 with a coup d'etat, a "revolution", done by a military faction. During the period of the dictatorship, the state political police (called PIDE), arrested and tortured people who were against the regime. Like it was expected, there was a kind of persecution for those who were PIDE's members. But nothing really serious. It was a bloodless revolution. I still wondered how was it possible. How was it in Spain after Franco's death? I don't remember to have read anything related to the prosecution of ex-members of the secret police force. Can any Spanish forum member enlighten me about that?
  12. If it's by cable, please don't use any external adapter. You've to buy an internal PCI network card. This isn't like wireless. I know there exists, but the speed and the resources....
  13. Welcome back. HiTR is a great addon. It brings more even more immersion, new planes and some nice new effects like wind bufetting. I think you won't regret if you buy it. As for MP concerning, I really don't know the things are, I just played it in SP.
  14. Well it's better to think he was on leave... Anyway it must have been hard times for your grandma. We tend sometimes not to think and forget about the home front, but there was a also lot of suffering over there.
  15. Hi, I'm not at home, so there are a few things I can't say for sure. 1. I think that in the workshop menu there's a place that states the version which is installed. It should say 1.47, which is the last patch for HiTR. 2. What values are you using for your sliders? With my ATI I use the tweaks from the FAQ, concerning Overrides and the Texture Info. My sliders are 5-4-4-4-3 In the ATI Catalyst Control Center, I use AA 2x, AF 4X and everything is set to Performance. The Catalyst AI in my XP is set to Advanced, but you can also try Standard. My specs: 1280x1024 in XP I5 750@3.2Ghz 4GB DDR3@1600 ATI 4890 3. Nope . I think it's a mod. I don't use it it's too dark for me. 4. Look at this thread.
  16. UK is right. That's the problem. And do exactly like UK as suggested. Only if it's not onboard and you have a PCI Network adaptor, before buying a new one, change it to another slot. But I bet it's onboard, if it's not a too old computer.
  17. Good holidays Olham. We'll be waiting for you.
  18. You can try to set a static IP for your computer. http://www.ehow.com/how_4393725_static-ip-address-win-xp.html I can help you giving you the right values. But I need to know what is your current IP and what are your ISP DNS server values. To determine your IP and Router Gateway IP: http://www.home-network-help.com/check-ip.html I need to know the values of IP, subnet and gateway. For the DNS it's more tricky. http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-find-out-what-my-dns-servers-address-is/#windowsxp This command ipconfig /all will give you the value of the DNS servers
  19. 1.Start Firefox in Safe Mode. Choose Continue in Safe Mode. See if there's any difference. If not exit Firefox. 2.Disable Kaspersky temporarily. Start Firefox in Normal Mode. Is there any difference? If not exit Firefox and enable Kaspersky. 3. Start Firefox in Safe Mode. Check Reset ALL Users Preferences to Firefox Defaults (the fourth option I think). Press Make Changes and Restart. Any difference? No. Then quit Firefox. 4: Start Firefox in Safe Mode. Check Disable All Addons (the first option I think). Press Make Changes and Restart. Any difference? I hope so, because I haven't anymore ideas.
  20. If it was W7 or even Vista I'd say it could happen. But with XP?! Have you tried to use a fix/manual IP address in your PC, instead using the IP given by the router? I suppose you've the DHCP enabled in your router, right?
  21. Reset your router, with a clip and configure it again. No it's not normal as far as I know. EDIT: Sorry I didn't see you've already reset. Hmmm. I've to think.
  22. My pleasure Rugby. Any doubt you can contact me by PM. And Antec is really a good brand; I've two Antec Cases. Report back please to tell us/me how is the performance with the new rig.
