Enjoy your road trip, hopefully put some fresh and new, better images in your head of the places some of us have been, instead of those images we try to suppress. Im sure you know what i mean . . . . . . zbogom, moji prijatelji. (safe journey my brother.)

Patches......

True though . . . . Love it, very funny! -
Ive noticed that after completing a mission objective, my wingmen try to insert themselves into orbit . . . . literally! This was one of many attempts it made, (for the record, its highest apex was 61,300ft!), what is causing this, and am i the only one?? It is ANY aircraft, and when it starts to do this, it will no longer respond to radio commands. The route it takes generally is to the edge of the map, it wont head even in the general direction of homeplate. Just endless rollercoaster ups and downs until it hits map edge, or runs out of go-juice and glides into the terrain. I cannot even lock it up in auto-aquire for a shot to put it out of its misery! Lol. Any clue as to how to sort this will, as always, be greatly appreciated. Gary Edit: forgot to mention, its SF2 Merged, but no SF2NA.

Ammo for my Argument

. . . And the F-4 never used RATO/JATO for ship-borne ops, the steam-cat was plenty powerful enough. AFAIK there has never been a rocket assisted take-off by any F-4 in any service. -

Ammo for my Argument

On what picture where???? The fit im on about is small, wedge shaped, and scabbed onto the pylon itself. It doesn't impinge on weapon carry (it doesn't take up a pylon rail), and has IIRC a 42 shot capacity (Flare) and 28 shot (Chaff). -

Im a bit of a Phantom Phreak, so as best as i can remember it . . . . . . . From mid 1980's RAF / RN Phantoms carried , on their inboard pylons (scabbed on installation toward the rear of the pylon, facing aft), the AN/ALE-40 (early) and AN/ALE-47 (later) systems. There are photos on the web of F-4 RAF over Mount Kent in the Falklands, firing off flares, when i locate (read: Remember!) where i saw the photo, i will post up the link. Chaff could also be bundled into the dispensers, typically flares were to port, chaff to starboard. The flare dispensers were angled down 15 degrees, the chaff dispensers were parallel to the wing chord line. Many a time i had seen the flares being loaded into the dispenser by GC's wearing fireproof overalls. -
SF-2NA April 2012 patch
garyscott replied to paulopanz's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Seems ok, SF2 Maverick zoom now as it should be (thank you god!), new effects (not too sure i like the missile trails . . .), enemy pilots hit the silk just before they either pile in, or explode, speaking of explode - the destroyed aircraft now explodes in a shower of sparks as well as aircraft parts (i can vouch for the authenticity of that effect . . i have been witness to an aircraft being "re-kitted", never forget it! ), flame trails are a little too contrasty, but hey-ho! AI now seems a little more bloodthirsty (or i was just not "in the zone"), and the vortice trails by gun rounds are a little heavy. Looking forward to what other changes i notice. As a sideline, some of my terrains now cause a CTD, whereas others are fine. . . . . . hmmm. -
Couple possibilities maybe . . ? Speedlink WASP I have this next one, it is collapsable, and has a lot of functionality. Cyborg Hope these are of interest to you. Gary

Weapon question

Turkeydriver, see here - Harm versus B-52 . I particularly like the name that was given to the BUFF after the incident . . . "In HARM's way" And in this link - Profiles - you can see a side view of the aircraft (its 3rd from bottom), plus side view artwork of a great many other B-52's. -
Weapon question

If AWAC's can be shut down for a short time due to threat of an ARM attack, then that is in effect the same as a "kill". The desired effect of no AWAC's coverage for opposing forces is as good as a kill - the enemy is blinded, or at least limited in its SA, which can give the aggressor the edge.
