Two of the prettiest ( In my humble opinion ) Fighter bi-planes ever produced, love 'em both. Pretty evenly matched in a fur ball I imagine.

Squadron patch woes
Trotski replied to Trotski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Hmmm the thing is, they actually do work, but only if you go into weapons loading first, if you don't do this, then they will refuse to display, however on going and adding weapons or whatever, on exit from that screen they do display, its weird, had the issue on other skins I have messed with too, and its only ever the squadron patch ....very odd indeed, not world shatteringly important I know but you get my point. Ok I shall try the level 0 option then, as I haven't started messing with Squadronlist ini's yet...... -

Hi there, just a quick question, one I am sure I have seen asked and answered somewhere before, however I can't seem to find it, so I am going to ask anew so to speak. basically my problem is this, I am currently faffing about with various Aircraft, to create skins and markings for both the Dhimar, and the Paran Airforces, but I seem to have run into a peculiar issue, I have been adding squadron patches, and or numbers to the noses of various aircraft, and when I go test it, to see where I have stuff placed etc. they absolutely refuse to show up, unless I then quit out of the mission, whatever mission it may be, then re fly and first go into the weapons load out screen, then, on exiting and then flying the missions, all of a damn sudden, just like freakin' magic, the damn things are there, in all their splendour, and correctly positioned etc. Anyhow, my question is, does anyone have an inkling as to why this happens, and how to prevent it from occurring as it is rather tiresome and one is getting rather irritated, so much so I may have to squash a grape, or even jump of a dolls house....any help and or explanation's will be much appreciated.

Well I know they say a landing is a controlled crash.....but that's takin' it a wee bit toooooooooo literally hahahahaha -
Bristol fighter was more commonly known as a Biff , FE2 was a FEE , and I am sure I read somewhere the BE2 being referred to as a flying hip bath

I stand corrected, however I was using the analogy as a semi humourus comment on an otherwise very nasty incident , however, I shall most certainly look at the article in question, as a little knowledge is as they say, a dangerous thing !!

they take their footy very seriously in South America !!! remember the Soccer Wars in the 60's or was it the 50's...cant remember

When I say slave to the mouse, I mean , the throttle mounted mouse joystick will copy what your main mouse will do........hmmmmm don't get why it should occur, mind you this sim sometimes has a mind of its own as you know, it will be something silly upsetting you joy / throttle set up somewhere.........keep trying matey !!!
-
is your mouse set up ingame for camera movement and zoom in zoom out ? or have you reassigned you mouse controls elsewhere ? the x52 mouse may act as a slave to the main mouse.....so maybe that would affect it, also I assume your x52 profile is up to date if it isn't try updating it . other than that dunno what would cause this problem, mine always works in game, and I have never come across the problem you have here.........if all else fails you could try unplugging your x52, and reinstalling it ? good luck mate

In my opinion....and it is only my opinion, this kind of game is fine, in its place, more suited to xbox/ps3 type gaming not so much for the pc / mac community......but hey different strokes, that's what makes us humans wonderful .....well most of us at least hehehehe
-
It may be a little too arcadish for our tastes......big Helo furballs like that are maybe a little ott .......but that's just my opinion

Trotski replied to Tamper's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I can personally see both sides of the issue here, however, what it actually boils down to, is control ie, we as consumers are slowly losing our control over software. For example, I myself, dislike Steam, Starforce, and any other so called anti piracy bulls**t, not because I am a software pirate, but because of the havoc these so called "safeguards" cause, I try and avoid anything that has steam or starforce, or anything of this ilk when purchasing a new game or sim. I think the concept, that Tamper is attempting to ge across, is the fact that we are constantly , and ever increasingly, targeted by marketing, behavioural control, etc etc etc. I am fully aware that this sounds like I am a conspiracy theorist, however, it is certainly true, that we are monitored, herded, and tricked , on a daily basis. I am sorry, bnut when I purchase a game, I want that damn game, on the CD/DVD that I have purchased, I dont wish to spend goodness knows how long downloading the sodding game ( after having paid for it, and then installing all the bloatware, and spyware, from the damn CD/DVD that I have just purchased. In summary, what right have the likes of Steam, and any other companies like them, have to dictate to me, or to any other consumer ? I think that is the nub of the problem, we as human being do NOT like to be controlled, at least the intelligent ones dont !!! And that is the whole insidious scheme, we will all slowly be sucked in................CAVEAT EMPTOR !!!! take note Mr Gunrunner, you are in the trap already mate. Sounds to me like you are toeing the party line...............Question EVERYTHING, believe half of what you see, and nothing of what you hear, especially when it comes to Corporations ( ie Steam ) and politicians, They are one and the same breed, and everybody is out there trying to sell you crap, especially the crap you DON'T need or even want....PPI ?!!!! Shutting my cakehole now, gonna go back to my good honest profession as a Soldier of Her Majesty
