Yeah I live in Derby, so very close to RR , they have a Merlin testbed engine which is on show an run at public displays a lot. And I saw that balbo at flying legends a couple of years back, the RR Spit flys over quite often too, which is nice.

How do I get me one o' these mate ? RAF Regiment (Veteran) ? or failing that just an bog standard Penguin, ( any one who isn't in the RAF Regt, but in the RAF ) one

I solved the problem by re installing my Stick, the issue was with drivers it would appear, mind you the whole thing had gone barmy, as I lost all cockpit sounds too, tried everything to get 'em back , but something was telling SF to ignore the Soundlist ini too, so uninstalled the lot, searched the pc aggressively for any floating files, ccleaned, adawared, spybotted, and hard reset the system, reinstalled it all and bobs yer Mothers Brother, everything shiny and new, and works spiffing. ~~~~I guess sometimes drastic measures are the best ones.

The full statement actually reads as Cockwombling Wankspangle , I find this statement can be applied to many and various situations and or persons...........and KJakker, I totally agree, however, as our friend the megalomaniac actually gets off on banning people, and denying them the access to these files, responsibility is irrelevant. The....Gentleman in question, gets off on annoying, upsetting and generally being a bit of a pillock. and as a couple of folk here have stated, not all the aircraft hosted on his Royal Spunkbubbleness'es site are that good, and the good modders on this site then work 'em araound a bit and make 'em 200% better.....The Viggen being a good case in point, the problem lies with actually gaining access to said files in the first place, to allow our esteemed modders to work 'em over , and stick it to da man ( his Royal Spunkbubbleness ) This site is till alive and vibrant, his is rather bereft of life from what I saw, especially his forums, where he is dead keen on everyone else toeing the line whilst being a rather unpleasant character himself......AVE CESAR.....do as I say not as I do.

The unfortunate thing is, there are a few bit 'n bobs he has which modders on this far superior and friendlier site have enhanced, such as the Viggen etc, and things like the Swift , Scimitar , and attacker, which aren't available elsewhere ( or at least not that I have found) I have managed to get a few choice files such as the Viggen, and the skywarriors etc which have been revamped by Wrench and other modders, however t I didn't manage to get the scimitar, and attacker, also some of the First Eagles stuff I didn't manage to retrieve unfortunately. I wanted the Tweets and the connies too, but he killed my account before I was able to get 'em......the insufferable LITTLE man. it's just annoying and frustrating. Just as a point of interest, how legal are his so called "copyrights " ?

I am going to post this here, and I will possibly be reprimanded, however, I feel the need to state my feelings and views, I apologise if it ruffles any feathers, or presses the "wrong" buttons, so without further ado, I shall launch into my diatribe. I have only just recently returned to the world of SF2/FE2 after a 2 year hiatus, I am so happy that the community is still going, if not as strongly as it was, ( as there are newer and more "advanced" sims out there now) as we all know, there are a few aircraft, and campaigns that require the downloading of models from A-teams site. Now, when I was first into the Thirdwire sims, I of course registered with the A-Team site, and because I was a complete arse, I didn't read or take note of the rules and regs on that site, duly, I was leapt upon from a great height, and I deserved it as as I said I was being a total numskull. I was barred from the site, and that was an end of it. Now that was almost 4 years ago, and last month, I re-registered with the site, and was duly granted access. about 4 or 5 days later, I received an email from Capun, informing me I had be re banned , due to my previous mis demeanors, and I hadn't informed him that I had a prior ban, I replied to Mr Cesar, pointing out that as he was undoubtebly aware of this fact, I saw now cause to inform him of such, ( the prrof being , that he emailed me to tell me so ) I was then re granted access to the site but was limited to only 5 downloads per day, to which I agreed, as after all it is his site, and therefore his rules. Unfortunately, due to a mis count on my behalf, one day I downloaded 6 files instead of the stipulated 5, I wasn't even aware of the fact, until I realised I was yet again banned, and of course emailed Capun to enquire as to why, to which he replied, very tersely, that I had downloaded 6 files, and had thus broken my agreement. I emailed him back stating, that I was only aware of this fact because he told me so ( I hadn't even installed the dratted things) I informed Mr Cesar, that I suffer from P.T.S.D. and that sometimes my memory, or my attention span is affected, and that I hadn't done this deliberately, and was in error. However, the Great Mr Cesar, replied that he had heard all sorts of excuses , etc etc. and that the ban is final. I mailed him back stating, that Combat Stress is NOT an excuse, it is something that affects my judgement, concentration, and well pretty much everything. However, HWMBO. has chosen not to reply, Now, I appreciate there are rules and restrictions which he deems apparently paramount, however, I do feel he is slightly out of order here, we all know he can be a cantankerous, humourless, and sometimes rude individual, and I was quite willing to follow his strictures and enforcements ( even though I feel sure the issues he was having with all the downloading, which caused him to put the rules there in the first place, no longer are actually an issue) So there you have it, I am sure the ....gentleman....in question, will read this, and I hope he takes on board that I feel he is unjust, unfair, I also feel slightly put out that he thinks P.T.S.D. is merely an excuse. I think that being so precious about his beloved files is totally ridiculous, surely, as those files enhance a simulation, and in some cases are needed for certain campaigns (Armchair aces for example) Also, as those files are freeware, even if they do have certain "copyright" appendices, then surely logically they should be available to the general population........Sorry if I have ranted on somewhat here, but I feel really quite annoyed by this...gentleman....attitude. I am aware there was some sort of falling out betwixt he, and thee , reasons which I am not privy to, and reasons I feel should not concern me as an end user. So now, due to his ridiculous, and quite unwarranted banning, I am denied the pleasure of the likes of Armchair aces, or flying a Tweet in Vietnam. Anyhow, I could discourse on this ad nauseum, as it has really upset me, and I apologise if it is not an acceptable topic to post on here. however I felt I needed to put down in words, part of how I feel about this whole sorry affair. I also run spybot S&D (filehippo.com/download_spybot_search_destroy/ ) along with Malawarebytes, they do actually work very well together, and sometimes one detects things the other misses, CCleaner is also invaluable, I'm afraid I don't Rate Norton, or any virus killer that you have to pay for, security should be free and available to everyone, I rely on Win Defender which works as well as any payware Virus scanner, and it is in built already into Windows, after having major issues with Avast causing slow downs and memory hogging, I just now use the tools aready in place in windows, however, Spybot, and Malaware are vital, as they can spot key logging attacks etc. and CCleaner will clean out pretty much everything you want got rid of too, just keep 'em all updated and run them all about once a week and you are cooking on gas mate !!

The issue is my throttle is set at zero, but the flight seems to want to start at 50% ( randomly) so if I flick the engine off then back on, the throttle then shows as zero......so my mapping isn't the problem, there is obviously some conflict somewhere that causes this to happen, like I say its random, so the workaround is just to flick the engines off as soon as the flight starts. which isn't really too much of a problem really, its just a niggly issue which is playing havoc with my OCD lol lol lol. The issue seemed to start after I installed the A team Hornets......and NO !! I aint uninstalling 'em, before ya tell me to lol

Throttle is always set at zero, so that certainly isn't the problem, also as the problem seems to be at random, my physical throttle setting aint the issue here at all, its a very odd phenomenon, to be sure, I have checked the setup of my X52 and that doesn't seem to be the issue either, so maybe I shall just have to live with it, as if it were a common problem you guys would have known about it already....oh well....lol

And now, its stopped happening .......Arrrgh....I hate intermittent problems......however, I would still like to know where to look and see what may be causing this issue, also setting the engines to default off, at mission start

Well, I seem to have run into a new and interesting issue, for some reason, when ever I now start a mission, in any Aircraft or type of mission, for some reason, the throttle seems to be set at 50% by default, so, 2 questions, 1, where do I find the reason for this, and 2, how do I stop it, as it is rather annoying, as some aircraft have crappy brakes and start to roll as soon as the mission starts, which I don't desire to happen at all, also, is there a way to start with the engine off , so a physical start of the engines is required........Thoughts are muchly appreciated.......oh I have desert 4 installed, also sarcasm 1.5 , and cumulative effects , dunno if this will have any bearing on the issue, however I must point out that yesterday, all day, the problem wasn't occurring except with the A-team Hornets Signed you local and mostly friendly confused one.

There is just something, I dunno, fainly romantic.....is that the right expression ? About Silver wings era Aircraft. They were quaint, but very capable, and deadly. I have a love of all things Italian Aircraft wise any how, and I just love the Gladiator, Seen her flying a lot at both Old Warden, and at Duxford. My dreams were answered when I got a 1 hour flight in a Tiger Moth at Duxford for my 50th . I just wish I could afford more !! So bring 'em on I say, Gauntlets, Chirri's etc etc it would be nice if they were transferable to FE2 as well as SF2 , just because lol I salute your skill at modelling these beauties, I wish I had the knowledge and or skill to do it myself !! So keep 'em coming please.
