  2. Unit: No. 1 Squadron Royal Australian Airforce Mission: Strike against Ghale Morghi AB (TAB11) outside Teharn Assets: 2 x Strike Aircraft (RAAF F/A-18F) and 6 x Escort/SEAD (RAAF F/A-18F) Target: Runway Flight departed Kuwait International at 1334 Local time. Radar emission and jamming were keept to a minimum during the ingress and no threats were encountered enroute to target. 2x AGM-154C-1 JSOW were fired at the target as soon as the flight cleared the mountain range to the south of the target. Both weapons struck and severely cratered the runway, effectively destroying it. The Flight then started to engaged air defence targets around the airbase destroying 1x ZSU-23 Shilka AAA vehicle and Hawk CWAR. However before any additional ground targets could be engaged Red Crown warned of bandits approaching from the North West. Four Iranian F-4E Phantom II fighters were picked up on radar and engaged at BVR with AIM-120C7 missiles. Two F-4E fighters were destroyed before the merge with AMRAAMs and another with an AIM-9X after a brief one sided dogfight. At this point our RWR were lit up by two Iranian F-14A Tomcats. The engagement immediately shifted from the remaining F-4E (that was trying to bug) out to the Higher threat F-14A Tomcats. As Plt Off Clare fired an AIM-120C7 at one of the Tomcats he was fired on with no less than two AIM-54 missiles! Fortunately Plt Off Clare was able to 'spoof' the missiles and at the same time return fire with multiple AMRAAMs which destroyed the attacking F-14A. The remaining F-14A and F-4E both attempted to bug out in different directions however Plt Off Mccarthy and Plt Off Simmonds were both in a position to bracket the remaining F-14A from above and destroyed it an AIM-9X from each aircraft after a brief chase. With the air threats neutralised the flight regrouped and made a single attack run on targets of opportunity around Ghale Morghi AB before heading home. An additional 3x Hawk CWAR, 2x ZSU-23 Shilka AAA vehicles & 1x M35A2 Truck were destroyed. During this final attack A44-208 flown by Flt Lt Betherton was hit and suffered engine damage from a 0.50 calibre machine gun but was able to return safetly. Air-to-Ground Kills: -Runway by Plt Off McCarthy with 2x AGM-154C-1 JSOW -ZSU-23 Shilka AAA vehicle by Plt Off McCarthy with 1x AGM-65G -Hawk CWAR by Plt Off Hillary with 1x GBU-12E/B Paveway IV -Hawk CWAR by Plt Off Hillary with 1x GBU-38(V)3/B JDAM -ZSU-23-4 Shilka AAA by Plt Off Hillary with 20mm M61A1 Vulcan Cannon -ZSU-23-4 Shilka AAA by Flt Lt Betherton with 20mm M61A1 Vulcan Cannon -M35A2 Truck by Plt Off Clare with 20mm M61A1 Vulcan Cannon Ait-to-Air Kills: -F-4E Phantom II by Plt Off McCarthy with 1x AIM-120C7 -F-4E Phantom II by Plt Off McCarthy with 1x AIM-9X -F-4E Phantom II by Plt Off Simmonds with 1x AIM-120C7 -F-14A Tomcat by Plt Off Clare with 2x AIM-120C7 -F-14A Tomcat by Plt Off Simmonds & Plt Off McCarthy with 1x AIM-9X each Losses/Damage: -F/A-18F Block II Super Hornet A44-208 suffered minor damage to starboard engine compressor blades from 0.50 calibre machine gun rounds. Will be repaired within 48 hours. Intell: -Iranian Airforce still has an unknown number of serviceable AIM-54 Phenix missiles. The Missiles are believed to be early models and appear to be effectively countered by modern ECM equipment. -2x AGM-154C-1 JSOW were fired and failed to track their target. This is believed to be because the launching aircraft was outside the firing limits of the weapon- ALL pilots must ensure they are within the launch parameters of the weapon they are attempting to deploy to avoid collateral damage. -No less than 6x SA-15 Gauntlet SAM missiles were fired from Tor-M1 launchers during our second attack on Gale Morgi AB, all were easily defeated with ECM, chaff and spoofing/ manovering. -Iranian Pilots appear inexperienced and undisciplined, F-4E pilots displayed no skill in interception or ACM tactics and were unable to achieve a firing solution or employ any air-to-air weapons.

  15. *********************How to use the same pilot names mission after mission and have them show up in your after action reports.********************** 1, Extract the 'NAMESxxxx.LST file that your nation uses (you can see which one by looking in the NATIONS.INI file). 2, Delete all the names in the file exept for A; the amount of pilots in a squadron which is roughly 1.5 times the number of aircraft, or B; the amount of aircraft in your squadron if you want the same pilots flying all the time. There are two or three sections to the list: '[LastNames]', [MaleFirstNames]' and '[FemaleFirstNames]' You should have the same amount of names in the [LastNames] section as the [MaleFirstNames] and [FemaleFirstNames] combined (a lot of names.lst files have no female first names so you can have what ever number from each gender you want). 3, Put the file in your mods folder in the 'Flight' folder Every time you create a single mission the game engine randomly pairs a name from the [LastNames] section to one from the [MaleFirstNames] section or, if filled out, the [FemaleFirstNames] section. By limiting the names in the file to the number of pilots in your squadron you limit the names the game can chose from. In the roster screen you can pair the same pilot with a particular airframe. The last names will be probably be paired with a different first name each time you create a different single mission but since only the last names show up in the debrief screen that we are posting in the forum you should get a continuity of names and maybe create some aces *************EDIT:************* An alternative (which I think is better) is to replace the names in the [LastNames] section with a first and last name. Then replace the [MaleFirstNames] with the initials of your air force in brackets e.g. (RAAF), (RAF), (USAF) etc. You will need to have the same number of airforce initials as names in the [LastNames] section. By doing this you will avoid the issue of different matches of first and last names. Pilot names in game will appear as: "Plt Off (RAAF) Joe Smith" in the roster screen and as "Plt Off Joe Smith" in the debriefing screen. Dan.

  18. *********UPDATED template with J-10 added************************************************************************************************* *********UPDATED template with fixed Foxhound and a set of weapons at an angle like in EricJ's screen shots below ******************* If anyone's interested I've figured out away to add mission markings to a specific airframe. What I've done is created a set of blank numbered decals 'mmnum000.tga' through to 'mmnum024.tga' that basically act as serial numbers. The first one has kill markings on it as an example. Also included is a template with all sorts of kill and weapon markings on it. You will need to be comftable editing and placing decals to do this: Add the marking to the decals.ini file of your aircraft, you will need to figure out and use the correct coordinates for your aircraft as well as the appropriate mesh name. I've included mine from the F/A-18F as an example: [Decal027] MeshName=FwdFuselage DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=Left FilenameFormat=OpDarMissionMarkings\MMnum Position=5.9,0.30 Scale=0.95 DecalMaxLOD=3 After you fly a mission the Debriefing screens will tell you what pilots used what weapons and who shot down what. In the Roster screen each pilot is assigned a specific airframe. So now you can open the mmnumxxx.tga file that corresponds to that aircraft with a paint program and copy & paste the appropriate kill/weapon marking onto the decal. The mmnum.tga decals will match up with the corresponding serial number in the sequence e.g. mmnum003 will show up on the aircraft that uses the usnum003 serial number decal, which will be the fourth airframe listed in the numbers.lst file in the skin folder (003 is the fourth one because the decal numbering starts at 000). Now when ever that particular airframe fly's a mission it will have the kill/mission markings on it. This sounds complicated but it isn't lol and it may be to much effort to be worth it but I thought I would throw it out there anyway. MissionMarkings.7z updated template.7z
