Whose flying the aircraft? Even a precise tool is useless when in the hands of a fool.
-
I learned about it in the 5th grade with those little aircraft info cards that you could put into your tracker keeper or binder. Like you I was sad to know the only thing left of the XB-70 was a few photos and some footage. Which we all know is super rare. (For all you yungins out there. We used these ancient devices that held all of your papers with 3 metallic rings that would click together. We had tracker keepers and Five star binders. These book like cases had all kinds of storage. We didn't have laptops, iPads, and smartphones. Closest thing I had to smart phone was my TI-83.) I know I might get smacked around for saying this. But the XB-70 so reminds me of the Concord. One of the safest aircraft in the sky I think. I believe it was a piece of FOD that ended the Cocord among other maintenance needs. But I never known one to crash.

It was all fun and games until ...

It always amazes me how aircraft bordering on science fiction actually existed and worked (for the most part)

Puts me in the mood to download the B-52 mod pack.

Oh, thank you for clearing that up. I'll check out the wiki.

Yes it was. Some things I didn't see coming, but that one thing at the end. I kind of wondered about. It was a lovely surprise still. The reason I wondered about that was something I saw when, Juliana, got the information to check out a location. It looked as if someone had been there, but they didn't linger too much on that, as they quickly moved to lay certain things to rest. That entire episode was awesome. With John being so methodical, I kind of wonder if his plan will still work out the way he said it would. Just not the way we think it will now that the camping trip is cancelled. Or that could be something to come back and get him despite his promotion. That is if Jo doesn't get to him first. Then maybe Jo will use that information against him. I'll just wait and see.

The A-Bomb helped out with that. I understand what you're saying I don't recall a lot of detail (other than the A-Bomb) about what lead to their victory. But there are few things that I think about which allow me to somewhat see how things could work in this "what if" world. What if the Americans failed at Midway. That Battle could have gone either way. A few random events helped out with the Americans winning. That and some skill. The Japanese were fighting in the blind working on old information to begin with. Had they known exactly where the US Carriers were that battle may have gone differently. Or what if the Germans won the Battle of the Bulge. Or rolled out their Jet Fighters sooner. Or didn't invade Russia. More resources could've been committed to fighting the Allies. What if the Germans didn't by the fact that Patton was coming from Africa? During the Battle of the Bulge when Patton was "rescuing" the 101st. He left behind a unit that wreaked havoc on the Germans. The Germans sent an elite armored unit to go fight the remnant instead of sending them to fight the bulk of Patton's forces. Had that unit remained committed the Allies would've suffered greatly. I could very well be wrong. But the little I know. There was skill, preparedness, and people who knew how to take advantage of opportunities when they presented themselves.

A damn good show. My friend knows the person who edits the sound for that show too. I'd drop the dude a line ... but I need him working on Season 3. I was surprised to learn that Season 2 the director quit mid season. They said it was run like a republic to which I said "Forget finding another director then. They did a good job by themselves". I'm so excited to see what's coming up this next season. So what do you like or not like about it? See I got Amazon prime which means my butt is going to be marathon watching Seasons 1-2 again.

Four hours ago, coming home from Church. I saw 3 blackhawks flying very low over my neighborhood. Two were up close another out in the lead. I thought this weird because I typically do not see military aircraft flying on the weekend. Now we have flights of C-130s flying Monday-Friday at various times of day (Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night) you can set your watch to them. I live near (30 minutes) away from LRAFB. Interestingly enough too (this happened a couple of weeks ago) I saw a medivac blackhawk orbit an area approximately 200 yards away from house as well. For 30-50 seconds they flew in a tight circle and then headed off to the north. The women in my town aren't that freaking hot. The aircraft altitudes (in case you're wondering) for both sightings, was less than 500 feet. It's probably no big deal, but it's not everyday I see something like that in my area. I was lucky to see a lot of aircraft fly over my house. When I was younger I thought a flight of cobras (4) was going to blow our house up. I just finished watching an hour long documentary of them, and saw all the stuff they were blowing up. Every time you saw one it's shooting something. So figured they were coming for me! lol. I ran as fast as my little legs could carry me. Another time I heard a loud roar and when I ran outside to see what it was two F-14s flew right over our house. I remember seeing a very long line of Huey's flying over too. It seemed like it never stopped. (that was a year or two prior to the F-14s) Chinooks woke up from a nap once, shook everything in house too. Sorry for rambling. The blackhawks for some reason have me wondering. There aren't any airshows going on as far as I can tell either. So it normal for military aircraft to fly on the weekend? (Peace-ish time?)

Reporter: Mr. President what is your response to the Kim Jong Un? President: We're not going to take it. No! We ain't goin' to take it. We're not going to take it anymore! I'll see myself out.

For some reason I'm wanting Conan O'Brien to be in this ...

Well this is worse I still say that little boy has a big head. This even worse than that. He probably executes people for doing the dance but then in his own house you hear nothing but the bass of that thumping throughout the place. As he's working ways of trolling President Trump with rocket test.

It was just another night, I was going through getting things in order, listening to music, and looking forward to another long day. Then I came across this photo of a girl holding some kind of assault rifle. It looks like a SCAR, but how should I know what it is? I'm not that knowledgeable with guns. Other details quickly stuck out. Her school uniform, for instance, and a digital cammo backpack-bulging with books. I started to wonder; what world could she be living in? What kind of place is so torn with violence that kids have to carry assault weapons to school? A few came to my mind but then other details I skipped stuck out as well. Her school uniform is immaculate, her weapon clean, even upgraded. I know she has a Holo site with a zoom scope, some kind of compressor is attached to the front. Too small to be a silencer. She even has a fore-grip attached to the tactical railing. The girl's visage seemed calm, yet alert. Then again maybe there was nothing to fear, because I noticed she was wearing headphones, expensive ones too. Then again if she or her family (if any) can afford the weapon she has, the headphones are probably nothing to them. But still, what the hell is going on in her neck of the world? She is surrounded by the things our media says do not exist. We have all kinds of groups yelling and screaming for their rights, to make a change, or to be heard. Yet there she is, in that photo, in her world, fighting who knows what and why. I've read about soldiers who were on a battlefield for so long that it became home to them. The horrors of war became a lifestyle. I wondered if that is what this girl, whose age I can't really determine, is going through. The things that make a five minute story on our news is what she lives everyday. People on our side are bitching and complaining about everything while this girl risks her life just to go to school. We have people who sit on their high horses speaking grandiosely about ourselves, and there she is, everyday, overcoming obstacles that would crush them. Sure they would think such things beneath them, because of their arrogance and stupidity, but the salient issue is that they're weak. She's stronger than they are. They talk. She dos. They bitch when they don't get their way. She finds a way. I want to tell her story, the story of her people, but a lot of things hold me back. Political Correctness being one of them. If enough groups aren't shown in a positive light, publishers will get nervous and bury the story. I also wonder, who will care to read her story? What about you? Would you read her story? Do you even want to know it? (thank you)

Yeah when I hear (or read) Armada I envision hundreds of vessels moving toward a target....but that's just me.

And a basket of fries.

What the hell did I miss? ... My news is talking about trying to kill death row inmates in a rapid manner. Something with some kind of drug not being humane enough. Mental stress on officers from killing so many so fast. Edit: Just read it. Steve Stephans. You know. That whole incident doesn't make any freaking sense at all. It's like ... why? Doing a crime is dumb anyway (for the most part). Usually you try to ... avoid anything that will tie directly to you. Filming yourself while doing it ... that's worse than when a rapper snitches on himself in his rap album.

I wasn't trying to be disrespectful. Apologies. I really thought you were a high ranking officer. Apologies.

Well I shut mole activity down in one sector of my yard. I'm gong to see what the activity is else where.

I was wondering what you'd think about it. ... Just wondering again: are you a Colonel? General? I just remember a long time you mentioned how some sergeants better be at parade rest when talking to you.

Care to Educate a Fool?
Skyviper replied to Skyviper's topic in Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Yes this. Sure thing. I'll answer both questions. I was wondering if scripts can be accessed so the engine can be "tricked" to do things it wouldn't normally do. Or do things it wouldn't normally do but within the confines of the engine. My hopes is that doing so can open opportunities for non-fighter aircraft missions. Such as support roles with the C-130. Or carpet bombing runs with a B-52. I noticed how an older flight sim worked with the player aircraft...the AI mimicked your actions. If you opened your bomb doors the other planes would open their bomb doors. When you dropped your bombs, the other planes dropped their bombs too. Or for a support role, when you want to deploy troops to a combat zone. So when you're flying a C-130 and open the bomb doors (the cargo door) the AI will follow suit, and when you deploy your paratroopers (bombs) the game will deploy theirs as well. So the engine sees bomb doors being opened and weapons being deployed, but what we see is a D-Day style air drop. I'm also wondering if scripting can allow for certain functions like launching missions from an FOB to work (if you're using helicopters) do short range troop transport/deployment. Support Missions (again C-130 ... I live near the world's largest C-130 base so I have a soft for them). If scripting can be done then you can drop supplies into an area, or transport VIPs, troops, and equipment to another friendly base. And it count as a successful mission. So for example (with scripting and fooling the engine). It uses the structure of a recon mission. Reach this waypoint, mission complete. With some scripting. That waypoint can be a friendly base, you arrive you, park in a designated area for so many seconds/minutes, objective is complete and you can either end your mission there at the friendly base or fly back home. You can have rescue missions. Fly to an area land at the target point. Wait a few seconds/minutes, passenger collected fly back home... mission complete. So that's what I'm wondering. If the triggers or scripts can be edited then we can really open up some things with SF2. There are a lot of great mods out there which deal with support roles. But the game is designed for fighter planes. Not cargo, or transport, or AWACS. If scripts and triggers can be edited then maybe there can be some more fun to be had. -
Oh an update on my situation. I decided to go with the MacArthur method and starve the enemy. I covered my yard with grub killing granules. Expecting rain to come down, pound the stuff into the dirt and kill the moles food source.

Hey it's me with my Dunce cap on. So be warned. I have a question about modding SF2... Can the SF2 series have scripts edited? Like I said. I'm wearing my dunce cap, but at the same, if it can be done. Then I'll reach out to a programmer I know and we'll see what he can do. Thank you for reading my silly question.

I don't understand. Why sink a ship with such great history? Why not make it a museum like the Battleship Missouri?
