Dead platform.Spudknocker replied to CrazyhorseB34's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion I wouldn't say its a dead game... the people here make it alive! haha I think the biggest thing that could happen for the game would be a patch or some mod etc that would make the game more compatible with newer graphics cards and drivers

Well one big thing that can help is converting cockpit and aircraft skins to JPG's this is rather time consuming and annoying but it can help...another thing that can help is by putting effects to high instead of unlimited...while the sun wont look so amazing most effects remain unchanged especially if you have a unified effects package from stary. Also going into the options ini and forcing V sync off can add a little bit of a boost to the FPS
-
The unified effects package and any effects package will work in covering any missing effects... As to the trees thing i havent noticed that myself but I will look into it, in the mean time I would try replacing it with a tree tga file from a desert map

A sampling of MiG skins added to the Angola/South West Afrika page... The flogger skin will work on almost all the floggers available in the MiG-23 package available here at CA with only slight renaming of the skins for two seat floggers... just waiting on review from a moderator Additional Angolan/african skins are available here at CA

The Impalla is included with the terrain files in Parts 1, 2 and 3 Unfortunately right now it looks like there is no way around the DLC Mirage III's as a base for the SAAF mirage package... But it is nice to help support TK a little bit the DLC doesnt cost much

Umm well one thing I have noticed with the TV screen for LGB's AGM's etc is in the aircraft in question change the greentvfilter in the cockpit INI to a JPG file that will help... The second thing that will help even more is go into the weapons data files and find the value called SeekerHeadFOV= and bring that value down to 1.50000... The narrower that FOV that the tv display is trying to show the higher your FPS will be while launching a Maverick etc As to getting the fps stuck at 60 FPS I think that may be the limit for the game engine as I've never gotten over 60 myself... Strike Fighters Guru's may need to weigh in on that. But definitely play with the SeekerHeadFOV in your missiles data files, I had the same problem with AGM-65A and B's until I changed up the value Another boost for the FPS can be turning off the cockpit mirrors as well as turning down shadows

Strike Fighters 2 ScreenshotsSpudknocker replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots Two IRIAF F-4D's on the way to the front lines to drop napalm on and strafe Iraqi trenches, yesterday they were enemies of the state, a grave threat to the revolution then in its infancy... now they are the Ayatollah's only hope of survival...

Hey everybody! New Update to the campaigns put up! Please Overwrite old campaign files... Update submitted just waiting on approval

Ya I figured Argentina would be a bit of a stretch I was thinking maybe replace Argentina with some Turkish upgraded F-4E's? I think red aid would def be Venezualan Su-30's and maybe F-16A's... Ground forces would probably be Cuban and Angolan... Angolan Fitters, and MiG-23's and Mi-8 and 24's Libyan Mirage F-1's (cool match up for SA's F-1's) and MiG-23's... My intention is kinda to make it look like both sides kinda have rag tag air forces that are cobbled together with the couple Israeli pilots bringing the real muscle

Hey guys! Ive been playing a lot with Dennisoliveras fantastic cheetahs and Kfirs, it got me thinking about making a modern day fictional campaign for my Angola terrain... The premise I was thinking of was a setting somewhere around 2010/2011 where old Cold War rivalries are heating up due to terrorism in Sub Saharan Africa, Venezuelan, Cuban and Libyan forces have strengthened and backed up Angolan forces in preparation for an invasion of Namibia. South African intelligence sources have become rather alarmed over the recent build up of armor and aircraft in Angola and seek help from the United Nations and NATO hoping for a post Aparthied African Operation Desert Storm type of coalition. South African pleas for help fall upon deaf ears, even though huge defensive cuts in the 90's have left south africca nearly defenseless. Fortunately other small pariah nations that had banded together during the cold war have pledged their help.... Colombia and Ecuador send a combined Squadron of Kfir C10's, Israel sends a detachment of 6 F-15I's, a det of 8 F-15A/B AUP Baz's and a squadron of F-16C/D Baraks, Chile sends det of F-16C's and a squadron of Mirage M5M Elkans, Argentina sends a squadron of IAI Fingers as well... South Africa herself scrambles to hasten the delivery of JAS-39C/D's and to pull out of storage and refurbish older Cheetah E's and Mirage F1AZ's while cancelling the drawdown of Cheetah C and D's. Will it be enough to save Namibia? Any Interest? ideas? Thoughts? I was thinking maybe include a french squadron of mirage 2000's or Rafales...

rotating on axis?Spudknocker replied to savagkc's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion Hey Savagkc! I agree 100% with cliff on the joystick issue once and awhile I will get that same right roll for me it's always super subtle. I also get a slight nose down push once and awhile... Everytime it happens I simply disconnect the USB cord from the stick to the computer and it fixes the issue. Try this while in a mission... SF2 will not delete your stick layout during a mission while the joystick is disconnected. The deletion of your stick layout only occurs while moving through the menus. To repeat, go into a mission and disconnect and reconnect all the ports or plugs associated with your joystick until the problem goes away

Strike Fighters 2 ScreenshotsSpudknocker replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots French Rafales over Tripoli! Supported by F/A-18E's of the US Navy and USAF F-15C's... A lone MiG-23 pilot scrambled and was promptly taken care of after numerous warning orders from AWACS orbiting off shore... Tripoli Air Port and Ghadafi's SAM's are no longer in business.

Ya I totally understand that people love flying migs haha! My point was that if there are certain aircraft you dont fly such as B-52's and C-47's or 130's why have those cockpits sitting around taking up space... I also find the smaller and more compact my mod folders are the better the game runs and loading times seem to be reduced as well...

Hey guys! Figured I would share this I recently was running into space issues on my hard drive and it hit me I NEVER fly MiG-21's and MiG-23's they are simply sidewinder fodder for me so I went into my vast collection of migs and I deleted the Cockpit folders and INI's to turn them basically into AI only aircraft and i saved a TON of space on my HDD!
