  1. Thanks Uncleal. I had done that and now I have tried it again. However, the error message is still being displayed.
  2. After a HD reformat I reinstalled OFF and the patches. Everything functioned properly. I then installed the HitR update. Now when I "go to field" I receive the message "Populate Airfield Facility: Aircraft Setup Error". I have reinstalled the Hat in the Ring expansion several times but still receive the error message. Can anyone tell me what file is missing or how to correct this problem? Thanks Jim
  3. Thanks for the prompt reply Polovski. I will try to check out the keyboard. Perhaps I have unintentionally turned on a function without realizing it.
  4. I have installed OFF in Windows 7 and am having a problem. None of the commands that the F2 – F9 keys should produce function. They want to bring up Microsoft Office11 responses or cause OFF to exit. The other key commands appear to function correctly. I have reinstalled Microsoft Office, the drivers for the key board. The Program has been installed several times and patched with fresh downloaded files for OFF and HitR. I am starting to run out of ideas. Is there a file in OFF that sets the response for the keys? 5. I'll add a third to Hasse & Winston's results with GOG. An interesting site to visit and buy from. :salute:
  6. Supplies! Supplies! I did not realize I had to use the XP compatability mode. But it is running under Vista.
  7. I am trying to get FreeTrack to function. The program functions with the skull screen. However, when trying to configure the virtual joystick (PPJoy) nothing happens. I just click for the "Center joystick", "move Joystick", and "center". Then when setting the axes, with the show results turned on, the numbers never change when I move my head. This is reinforced when at the end of configuration the "Test" bars also never move. Needles to say no 6DOF occurs in OFF or IL-2 when it is run. I am seeking input on what I might be doing wrong. Thanks Jim
  8. Same results as markkyle66! Isn't there a place to download this without being hostage to 000webhost? If so where do I go to get the "Ultra-Mod 2.0 ?
  9. I don't think I ever said "Thanks" for all the input on the FreeTrack vs. TrackIR. Olham, since Santa did not find the cash due to the economy, I am still working on this problem but considering your suggestion about the kidney. Many thanks to all Jim
  10. Well I guess I was a Goood Boy this year since Santa remembered me very well. I am considering the TrackIR and am wondering if the TrackIR5 is that much better than the TrackIR4 for the added money? Also I am curious if adding two GB more of memory would be any value in OFF? Right now I am using XP Pro with 2 GB of Kingston PC3200 DDR Ram memory, 2 nVIDIA GeForce6800 256MB cards, AMD Socket 939Athon 64 4000+ 2.4GHz processor Thanks for any advice or suggestions
  11. I guess each to his own. I have the CH Pro Throttle (Fighter stick and pro pedals) and find they work just fine in all my flight simulators. They are a bit more expensive, but I have found they hold up over the long haul so probably are not more expensive than replacing equipment every two years. I have used the Saitek HOTAS (but not the most recent one) and found it was also good and easier to program than the CH equipment.
  12. A Cool Yule and a Fantastic First. Vrolijk Kerstfeest!
  13. has not set their status

  14. Stickshaker, I have been using GetRight the past few years and like it. Supports multiple downloads at the same time and will search for other sites with the same file name.
  15. I don’t want to be charged with heresy, but TrackIR is a little expensive for retired folk. Has anyone had any experience with a program called Cachya that uses just an inexpensive web camera? I see Von Paulus mentioned it in a Sept. post but it doesn't seem there is any follow up either positive of negative.
  16. I am interested in getting the TrackIR system and am interested in any other uses that my wife could use it for. Would it allow her to control the mouse pointer or other computer devices? I think it would be much easier to justify the money spent if there was some uses for her in addition to my flight sims. Secondly, other than the wider area for the camera view, would I be missing out on that much getting the TrackIR 4?
  17. Another program that works well for me is VAC System, (Voice Activated Commands),which I believe is also a free download.
  18. So to repeat a question, "Exactly where do you find the DVD version to buy?" I believe the Amazon CFS3 is the CD version I already own. Is this correct?
  19. Beautiful skin Oldham! One would feel terrible even thinking of putting any holes or inflicting damage on such a regal looking craft.
  20. Does anyone know where the DVD version of CFS3 may be purchased? I would really enjoy not having to put in the CD to play OFF.
  21. I have to go with this argument. I'm just not that good a pilot and don't have the time required for campaigns. Perhaps with more practice and time I'll fly more in campaign. But for now I find enjoyment checking out sites and combat with QC. For now I am interested in fun and enjoyment rather that competition in my free time.
  22. Rooster89 & Cameljockey have the correct Immelman for WWI. So I believe it is very do able in OFF and there is less of a problem with carburetion since you don’t invert.
  23. Well I passed the "common age" by several days? errr years so now I see why my reflexes may not be up to competition with most of you. Oh well I'm still on the green side of the grass and my elbows don't hit wood when I wake up and try to rise in the mornings. It's still lots of fun to fly (and get shot down frequently) so I'll be the poster boy for the 95% of you who can say "Well if he can keep going that long so can I". A very interesting survey. Jim
