As I've said on numerous occasions, I've helped Ron with some flight model stuff in the past, for free because I think a strong payware community is good for this game. Ron's pricing has been right on the money (no pun intended) for his aircraft, but these terrain repaints are way overpriced, and I can't support that. What's really got your knickers so bunched up, Russ?

$15 is outrageous. I have no problem with payware but this is ridiculous for a reskinned terrain. Fifteen bucks would be OK for a brand new, professionally built map with objects and target areas, but not for reskins. No way.

Oh man, if someone could make a Hoth terrain, some Snow Speeders and AT-ATs that would kick much ass.

I just discovered that the version of IPB I upgraded to a few months ago now locks out user accounts after a certain number of bad passwords are entered. Eight users were affected, and I have now unlocked those accounts. Capun, what are your plans with regard to the wingtips? I linked you up some pics that might help refine the canopy shape...but the post was deleted...any plans in that regard?

Anti-tipari policies are not only a violation of our free speech but also a serious civil rights issue. Yes I have heard the owners of C5s site say things like, "All tipari look the same to me," and "tipari are born knowing how to jack a car." I find this highly offensive. The fact is that only a small percentage of tipari know how to jack cars--most of us are oriented more towards hovercraft and their derivatives, but I would not expect to know that. Just so you know, I have retained counsel (Thurber & Thurber, Esquires Et. Al., LLC) to represent me because the tipari like to sniff my air biscuits. Be warned that the Nigerian courts take anti-tipari hate-thought very seriously.

It strikes me as odd that we would go to such trouble to be accurate in our models, skins, cockpits etc. but would be willing to play fast and loose with things such as loadouts and tactics. The game is probably too forgiving in this regard--the AI can't capitalize on the player who makes the mistake of engaging in A2A in an A-6 for example. I think the best way to anticipate how an aircraft would have been employed operationally is to look at its combat record and training doctrine. Anything else is pure conjecture. In the case of the A-6, countless missions flown over North Vietnam without Sidewinders should be indicative.

Weeeelllll....maybe not afterburners but the original A-6 design featured vectored thrust nozzles to shorten takeoff roll.

Animation ID assignment is different from aircraft to aircraft.

Yeah, and a good one. I have personally been intrigued by the idea of Sidewinders on the A-6 since I got the Warbird Tech volume which is the first time I saw it listed on a loadout sheet. Since then I've been looking for evidence.

With regard to canoipies, I agree with you, which is why none of my FMs have canopies that open automatically. With reagard to refueling probes, the aircraft I am currently working on will have an animated one.

I haven't worked on any AC in so long that I have missed some features. I believe that some keys were added that allow us to play animations, such as refueling probes, canopy, etc? Can someone give me a brief tutorial on this feature? Thanks!

1) Although the outer pylons were wired for AIM-9s, I can find no evidence that they ever carried them in any circumstance. The only in-flight pic I have ever seen of a Sidewinder-armed A-6 was of the A-6F prototype. 2) To my knowledge, the Marines had/have no stocks of nuclear weapons. 3) I have never seen this, either.
