  1. Oh come on this is like fine wine, it gets better and better with age! Or maybe once something becomes sooooooo ghey, you can't help but laugh?
  2. I was browsing the First Eagles forum at SimHQ and came across this: http://www.simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?...570#Post2353570 So let me see if I understand... Forum traffic is down a bit so the sim is dead? These guys have no sense that their sim is but a small cog in the ThirdWire machine. What I mean by that is that First Eagles will be affected by the same trends as all of the other sims in it's family. For five years now we've seen that the enthusiasm for these sims ebbs and flows as new patches, mods and new games are released. These guys don't know what a drought is like--some of us lived through the 1-year dust bowl between Strike Fighters patch 1 and patch 2. That was some real Grapes of Wrath s**t, with every other post on SimHQ being some negative crap about how the sim was dead and lomac was going to rock the world.
  3. Its traditional to bust on anyone who asks for a "Super" Hornet. Because its a ghey plane.
  4. So you'll be coming out of the closet in 2 weeks?
  5. Releasing a pack with just the new effects and screens, and instuctions on how to apply them to the original MF F-14A, is no problem. We don't want our aircraft re-released as "new" aircraft becasue it can be confusing to people new to the sim, and it creates a problem when we release upgraded versions. Thanks for respecting that and thanks for your enthusiasm for our Tomcat.
  6. I think I can speak for everyone on the MF team on this. We appreciate all enthusiasm for our aircraft, but would prefer that "new" versions not be released.
  7. We have a new F-14 model, but its waiting its place in line behind other projects.
  8. Hmmm...should be easy to create an installer that will add a carrier to the Burning Sands campaign and move the Navy squadrons onto it.
  9. Sorry, I get mad every time I think about it. :blush2:
  10. Nothing. That's how close an ally Iran was under the Shah. To put it in perspective, there were a total of three full F-14 simulators built. One was at Miramar, another at Oceana, and the third one was in Iran. The Naval Air Maintenance Training Group even had a Det. there to support them. Then f*ckwad Jimmy Carter screwed the whole thing up, destabilized the region and brought an Islamic theocracy to power which has been directly responsible for countless thousands of deaths throughout the world. Then they gave him a Nobel Peace Prize for it.
  11. Christ allmighty...you guys have heard of a detail slider??? Jesus...let's just accept some 1998-vintage terrain 'cause some guys have weak systems.
  12. Of all of TK's sims, WOV is the most prone to stuttering and choppiness in my experience. You would benefit from an upgrade to 1 GB of RAM more than anything else, I think.
  13. Repaints don't cut it. Especially overpriced ones. There needs to be more terrain complexity, higher texture resolution and greater object density. Modders can't overcome a basic limitation of the engine, and in the case of the ground environment, the entire world is passing this engine by rapidly.
  14. TK has expressed an unwillingness to update the terrain engine, even though a lot of us have been asking for it for years. The best thing you can do is post on his forum and let him know what you would like to see. If enough customers express a desire for this, maybe he will change his mind.
  15. Of course but you have to take this whole thread with a lot of salt. ;)
  16. Nobody except TK knows. The Super Mystere is obvious from the screenshots, though.
  17. The date is suspect. Beta test has not commenced yet and IIRC TK has mentioned that the First Eagles expansion will be finished before the new jet sim (and there has been no beta test of the expansion, either). So take it with a pretty large grain of salt...or a large salted eel.
  18. D'oh! OK, we can deal with this. They have beer in Wales...RIGHT??????
  19. USAF switched to camo around 1965 for obvious reasons...I believe the standard NATO camo started showing up in the late 1950s but someone else will have to give the definitive answer.
  20. Don't all English museums have pubs too?
