  1. Thanks for the heads up. F-15 2040C? Me like! Getting closer to the fictional world of Ace Combat
  2. Sure thing, the easiest way to fix it. I was asking because I thought that you made two different debris .tgas and that you missed to include the debris2.tga in the package, nevermind.
  3. Ok Stary, thanks. BTW I just noticed something else, although you may have noticed it already. In both LmgObjectHitEffect.ini and LmgGroundHitEffect.ini the materials call for the Debris2.tga, which is missing in your package, however there is a Debris.tga (without the 2)
  4. In the VehicleFireEffect.ini there's a typo in the last material (VehicleFireMaterial); the shader file is efectfire.fx instead of effectfire.fx. I told you just in case you plan an update, or if you want I can check the .ini and correct any typos that are found, at least I can save you some time Stary. BTW great effects pack.
  5. It seems to be a very strange issue, but I have a small advice for you, Viper. Weeks ago I discovered a freeware software called Driver Booster 2, it finds and installs silently (meaning automatically) updates to all the old drivers. You might try to use it, unlike other similar counterparts, this one really worked for me. Moreover I'm suggesting that you go inside the mod folder, find the Default.ini or whatever it is called inside the Controls folder and add the Read Only statement in the properties.
  6. Mirage F-1CZ Late

    Nice one! Outstanding quality work!
  7. Ok, thanks for the extensive explanation, no more stupid questions, I promise. BTW if the WeatherData stuff comes from the EnvironmentSystem.DLL as you stated in the other thread, me thinks that such entries were meant to be put in the EnvironmentSystem.ini as you did with SARCASM 2 beta, with generic values, and in each terrain .ini with its own values as you did with this Korean tileset.
  8. Damn, I don't even wanna imagine the place-holder entries in the graphics DLLs. Thanks for the clarification, Fubar512.
  9. SF2 F-16C/D Block 60 Fictional USAF Squadrons.

Don't listen to him, Viper. Poor mod my $$s, it's instead a nice and 'realistic' what if. I hate that the F-35 is replacing many aircraft in the US inventory, there will be less variety in the future, I think.
  10. I hope Uncle Sam follows your what if, viper63a! I know the F-16 is getting old, but it deserves some attention, it was/is one of the best multirole fighters that history ever witnessed. Oh, and BTW, nice mod as usual, keep up the good work, mate!
  11. Stary, other damned questions, sorry, it's stronger than me ; can you explain how the new cloud layer thing works (I see it's listed in the types .ini)? Can it be easily implemented in other terrains? I guess so. Moreover, does the WeatherData stuff you added working or does it nothing? IIRC it's some of the unused statements in the DLLs, right?
  12. Fubar, have you tried all of them? Indeed they are placeholders, but it's worth a try. KJakker, are there other unused statements in the other DLLs?
  13. Thanks for the quick response, I'll be looking forward to this mod, it seems very promising and refreshing.
  14. The fact that these two ships generate amphibious groups at almost fixed distances unlike addon ships, as you stated, makes me wonder. Maybe there is a parameter in the .ini files which controls this behaviour, or maybe the whole thing is controlled by the .exe, so no chance of correcting this 'bug' easily.
  15. Well, my main bottleneck is adding rivers and hand tiling the whole terrain with the TFD Tool (TW's Terrain Editor autotile function messed up the whole terrain, so I'm doing it the hard way). Don't worry, Stratos, I got this anyway; just yesterday I managed to add some rivers in Iran, and I quite enjoyed it seeing the result. I appreciate the fact that you'd like to help, but as of now I'd like to work on this on my own. Whenever I need some help, I'll call you with no hesitation, thank you very much. In other news, I'll be busy updating the terrain as stated above, by the end of the next week I'll release some screenshots of the progress that is made.
  16. Looks really good, I like it. The shape of the terrain reminds me of the stock fictional Desert terrain, which is in reality Mozambique but turned 90° degrees.
  17. Very nice work, mate. Regarding the new tiles shown in the screenshot, any chance they could be used in a SF terrain? There is a Spain terrain in the SF2 download section, IIRC. It could use a specific tileset like the one above, however as you said I'm worried about stretching issues, since generally SF terrains use a size of 2000 in the Terrain Editor, while FE's use a size of 500.
  18. Well, truth to be told I haven't checked them while flying on the terrain, I just noticed the file, and obviously I thought it was an easter egg. I told Stary to add the .ActiveYear=2008 statement to each of them, since it would be very strange to see them in the 50s, unless we have a time machine that is, LOL
  19. Yes, I am using the coordinates above. I was asking about the terminal because I have failed to find it in GE satellite images.
  20. IIRC Do335 made some small changes in the targets.ini, probably changed runway shape (changed runway2 to a runway3, for instance) of some airfields to better reflect the real world counterpart.
  21. Stratos is just making his own tileset IIRC, while using the original .HFD of the terrain released by Wrench, that .HFD is unfortunately geographically wrong, damaged let's say. So I decided to correct all the geographical inaccuracies, I created a new .HFD while depicting the area of the original terrain. I've been correcting the locations of countless targets and added more transition tiles (202 tiles in total atm), so I hope this is going to be the definitive terrain. As far as I can tell everybody is using the same .HFD atm, while I'm working on a completely new one (correct altitudes, Caspian Sea coast manually tiled according to satellite images and so on) In other news, does anybody know the exact location of the Mina-al-Bakr Oil Terminal? Today it shoud be known as Al-Basrah Oil Terminal, as the Yanks decided to rename it after 2003. I've been looking all over the internet, still no precise info.
  22. Thanks, krfrge. I'm really looking forward to your beautiful terrain, keep up the good work!
  23. I tried it and it looks awesome. I have a question; no more city tiles? I have no problem with that, but this limits the proper terrain usage to the 50s or so, while the Korean terrain could be useful for some Strike Fighters what ifs. I know, you lost interest in the post 60s era, don't worry it isn't a request. Second, I have a little important suggestion. Wrench added interesting easter eggs in mainland China, however it is in my opinion more suitable that they appear from the year 2008 and later. The reason is self explanatory; just find these lines in the targets.ini: Target[XX].Type=Beijing8 Target[XX].Offset=XX,X Target[XX].Heading=XX And add the following: Target[XX].ActiveYear=2008
  24. ModelCanopy.FX is a stock SF2 file, don't worry Gatling20. Stary added the common .tga files that come with some addon aircraft, so now they have a proper canopy shader applied.
