Amazing! My compliments to you FRPignon. This deserves 5 stars. The terrain especially needed this kind of treatment, and I love those flags in the airbases (that are Wrench's detailed work). Just remember that Sicily and Greece are 'green' and not deserted as much as Libya and it will be very great.

WTF? Sorry, Wrench, I don't want to sound bitchy, but I don't get your 'wow'. I already stated that I have other projects in mind, so I won't bother with the skin or the decals for a while. I respect your work, after all without you this community would suffer a major loss. Just to state things clearly, I'm not one of those who complain about one mod or another, so if you got a problem with someone else (or with me) you'd better solve it without being ironic in an offensive way. Ah! I can read a data .ini all right, it's just that I don't want to waste my time trying to find the correct position for each decal.

Thanks Geary. I know, decal placing is probably the most difficult task. As of now I'd like to finish a new terrain project for SF2 (it's a remake of the Iran/Iraq terrain). I'll probably add and remove some small details from the skin and release it for download if it seems reasonably good.

Finally I finished my school exams. Below I attached two pictures of the YF-12A skin I made thanks to Geary's template. Still I'm not happy with my work because of the horrible, low-res decals painted on the skin (I don't know how to use the decals.ini properly). Anyone feel free to post any suggestions.

Thanks again Geary. RL is taking most of my time though, so it will take a while before I can post a screenshot. However I already started painting the plane and I think the final result will be good. It will be probably my first upload.

Geary, thanks a lot. It is exactly what I was looking for. You should upload it so people can effectively download your work. BTW I have no problem with sounds and the missile works, while the missing afterburner makes me think it has SF2 level afterburner nodes, those that we miss in the first generation of SF.

Geary, sorry if I created some misunderstanding. I'd really like to see a dark skin matching the SR-71 first, but then considering that you've made various what if planes with the SEA camo, I had the idea of trying a similar thing with the YF-12A (after all it could have been deployed to Vietnam). However I'm not a 'what if' guy, so my first wish is to see the YF-12A in black colour. Thank you very much for your interest in this project.

Thanks for the replies, guys! Don't worry Veltro, thanks to you we still have some of the most exotic and finest 3d models ever seen in a flight simulator. Geary, I will wait for your template, I already imagine a what if YF-12A in SEA camo like the ones you've made for other planes.

It seems there are no available templates for this fast bird. Wrench once released a SF2 updated version, but it contained a white (and I guess fictional) texture. I think it would be great to have a black texture like its recon counterpart, the SR-71. It surely would be an alternative to those who don't have access to A-Team stuff. I'd really like to try paint the plane and update it a bit (wrong camera views allow to see the 'interior' of the fuselage), but I need templates, if anyone is willing to create them (I'm not good with that kind of stuff).

I solved it on some terrains (don't know why it doesn't work on other terrains) by changing these parameters in the terrain data.ini: [HeightOffset] LowDetailMesh=0.5 WaterMesh=0.8 BTW such effect could also be avoided using a better resolution and antialiasing, but for that you need a powerful computer.

He's amazing, at least someone tells the truth. The only part I didn't agree with was when he talked about the American casualties of the tank battles in Iraq back in 1991 (at least they risked their lives on the ground), but I agree 100% regarding the excessive bombardments that occurred in Desert Storm. Malibu, thank you very much for sharing this one. I noticed that the campaign set in 1975 doesn't have the SF2NA F-14 which was instead added by TW (since the release of SF2NA or later by a patch, I guess) in the stock campaign.

Hi regula50. I'm reworking the terrain as part of a major project for the Iran/Iraq war. Many of the targets are placed in wrong coordinates, hence why I wanted to enhance it. The info you found is useful, the fact that you found different names is because the US military changed the names of many Iraqi airfields after they conquered them in the invasion of 2003. I'm planning to add as many relevant airports as possible with their correct names according to their years, but the project is still far from completion.

Don't want to sound annoying... but are there any updates on this awesome terrain?

Hi Centurion, time ago I've sent you a PM because I've lost my backup files of the reworked terrain, but I guess you didn't receive it. Now I have a little spare time and I'd gladly rework the .HFD and the messy targets.ini I made, no promises though. Can you please check your PM for further details? Very detailed skins, keep up the good work! Modern Red planes need more skins for sure.

In my merged install I have both Red Crown and Hawkeye, with Hawkeye being there only when you fly for the Navy. To do this, you have to put Hawkeye sounds inside the "Speech\SpeechUSN" folder (create one if you don't have it), while Red Crown ones are to be put inside the "Speech" folder. Try experimenting with this. I hope my explanation proves useful enough.
