LOMAC: Your Opinion
Canadair replied to Feuerhund's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I can't get past the lack of a good manual, and the atrocious keyb command system -
I'll help you with that In the aircraft data.ini you have to locate the entry about the pylo where you want the fuel tanks to be applicable: for example this is su 27: [LeftInnerStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=5 StationGroupID=3 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition= -4.498,-2.65,-0.00 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 EjectVelocity=0.0,0.0,-1.0 LoadLimit=700 <------------I think this has to match the mass of the fueltank, whic you can read in the fueltank's weapon data entry. AllowedWeaponClass=AHM,IRM,SAHM,BOMB,RP,2BR,TER,FT,EOGR,LGB,RCKT,MER,lgr,cgr,arm,eogb <----make sure that FT is indicated here AttachmentType=WP,SOVIET ModelNodeName=LeftInnerStation PylonMass=86.18 PylonDragArea=0.02 FuelTankName=RTB-2000 <------------------add this line, with the name of the fuel tank you want, or change the fuel tank that was there before in case you already have this line I hope it is clear; I am sure about the FT and the fueltankname entry, I am not sure that loadlimit applys to fueltanks as well I wll try later Of course you have to do it alos on the pylon on the other side.

Sorry but I can't take this. In that case do AlliedForce and Desert Storm count? ? Yes they were shooting, but the scale of those operations were way bigger and the superiority of western forces overwhelimg And Afghanistan? Anyway, I can personally say that they used Hinds and Hips. Not sure if Mi-24, or Mi-35; hard to say when they are 3000 ft below you, flying nap of the earth

Little question... In terraindata: TerrainMesh] TextureThreshold=0.80 LowDetailMeshThreshold=0.50 MedDetailMeshThreshold=0.30 TileToHeightGridRatio=4 RenderMeshVertexCount=16384 //12288 RenderMeshIndexCount=16384 SolidObjectVertexCount=16384 //12288 SolidObjectIndexCount=16384 AlphaObjectVertexCount=16384 <----------by lowering this I should get less trees say I use 12288 //12288 //6144 AlphaObjectIndexCount=16384<-------------this setting must match the one above so it hsould be 12288 as well? //16384 Thanks -

Canadair replied to Canadair's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
thanks Stary,, as you read above I had it figured out; still now I will have to check all my terrains, since the all-true setupè is not in all terrains data. Strange no one noticed that before; to me this should eb a sticky -
trees, clouds and Z-buffer
Canadair replied to Canadair's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
could it be maybe the depthbufferwrite =true (instead of false)? in the terraindata's alphaobjecttexturematerial? With Formosa seems better.. I'll check the range Seems solved i the range as well Can someone confirm? -
This is the range terrain wit cellinsky's widesky mod, which has nothing to with this, since I have the same problem with default clouds.tga and environment.sys It does happen only in certain terrains; for example Formosa; since it uses WOE name comvention I used CA's stary forest and farms and I get the same problem, which does not happen is WOE's germany CE with the same mod, and neithe rin germanyCE imported into SFP; so it is not environmentsys related, not flightengine.ini related, not game (sfp, or woe) related: Seems terrain related: any idea?

yes it is actually an amazing load of crap. On the other hand I guess that everywhere there are stupid laws,, wasn't one in florida about "not being allowed to tie your alligator to a pole" Not to mention the few US states where I guess oralsex is forbidden,,

F-35A Lightning II
Canadair replied to Klavs81's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well you need both system; the built in laser designator for guidance.. and a dummy EOGR that will work as IIR camera after you drop last bomb; still it will be jettisonable,, -

Canadair replied to Trancer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
hmhmhm I quote you, carioca friend! -
that is a good one!; actually Wings Over Fires could be relased as soon as someone would help design an effect for the water drop; and perhaps refinish the CL215 Flight model, since the 3d model is done; There is also a "fire-fighting" campaign system implemted, in which you are called on fires scattered troguh the map (yes there is also a burning tree model); basically the project is on hold because of the water drop effect.. and the CL215 model

Quote the above, and with VERY close powerlines

hmhm I work in turkey at the moment....

Russia in indeed rejuvenated by this little "imperalistic act" On the other hand, any confrontation against Russia for European and Us power is basically not an option. For starter, it would be a "real" war, especially on the air side, while many of the operations conducted in the later years have been more counter-guerrila operations, or air bombing against a much inferior enemy (Serbia, or Iraq during Desert Storm) Here we would be facing a real threat in the air, land and sea. In their own land. Secondary, US power are reduced in number, althoguh High-tech, scattered around the world in two major conflicts, plus defense of the homeland and IRan to be kept under pressure. European powers are under the natural resources blackmail. (My natural gas bill is on the desk at the moment,, and it is high enoguh ) So, Georgia today, and tomorrow? Ucraina? maybe, but perhaps for those nations would be better to live under russia, on the long term, than their struggling indipendence. For sure better than a bloody long full scale war NATO/US vs RUSSIA on their territory. For once a hot-spot burnt and finished ina few days, hopefully with minimum causalties. We should happy that our leaders, (for a good vision, or simply because they can't) are not leading us into a conflict we can't do (I might argue that we should do NO conflict at all and leave wars in videogame,, but thtis is my utopia..so I'll stop herE)
