  3. seems my sudden performance drops (down to even 7 fps) were 3rd-party high poly aircraft model related
  4. I think we can ForceDX9= in options.ini (or somewhere else -haven't tried this one) to use DX9, but then we loose all the shaders... I really love WOP color correction and bloom, personally I don't think new(er) terrain engine TK's cooking will give us such eyecandy
  5. I used this program for long time, helped me create "new" cockpits from stock ones via ini modifications -really helps to find specific mesh name
  6. Ok, I absolutely love Wings of Prey. The immersion given by the amount of detail and sound effects makes it the best WW2 aerial combat environment up to date. For me, of course. So I took my chances at giving the "Wings Over Russia" by A-Team a bit of WOP-style look. Here are current results side by side: and at dawn, ENB shot is the lower one: I'm using ENBSeries v0.075: GTA San Andreas edition, and custom palette.bmp I made to give the screen a bit greenish, higher contrast look.   10. So... I've started this one back in early 2009, but in the time I completely reworked this one several times. Very little from the original mod remains. This was one of those "PIA for creator" mods It's 512x512 two seasons tileset, treemod for Gepard's excellent Formosa Strait terrain. 512x512 for most compatibility even with older systems. I still have original 1024x1024 templates, so IF someone would like to use those... "wet" season more brownish "dry" season smooth mountains, but it's an option, I like it this way and the included experimental (need more tweaking and testing) clear day ground fog: as a bonus I've included texturelist with my objects definitions for all you willing to make own treemod or experiment (but no per-tile-placement ini files, I'm not THAT generous ) Status: uploaded, waiting for a go

This mod includes it's own, smoother terrain height data, but original rough version is also provided as an option. Also includes new TFD file, which introduces "large empty fields" in western Taiwan. Both smaller and bigger trees included, the latter as default for rich lush ground cover.   14. My mom took from school she was a teacher at then ZX Spectrum, I had it just for me for whole long weekend! I was 7: then my dad bought me C64, and times of ACE, ACE2: and Ace of Aces begun! They don't do such titles anymore, do they?
  15. So many valid point here. I wouldn't be here if not the moddability and the community -I had WoV on shelf for some four months, not touching it, until I discovered Column5's site and CombatAce. Then the craziness started Generally in flight sims the times are -if you don't make your sim moddable, you're lost. Must be the reason Oleg Maddox decided to open for modders slowly incoming (and finally taking shape) Storm of War. And closed Rise of Flight is loosing it big time for me. I perfectly understand that financial situation can prevent one from buying the titles, but we're talking 20$ per title here. Back on topic -frankly, I wouldn't expect ultra-fidelity breakthrough new features from Tomcat title regarding avionics or FM, but I know there will be many new little things under the hood. Like always. You know, it's TK. Not to mention new terrain engine, the weakest, stinking point of the series for years. You do remember how long we were flying without clouds? Until mega-update patch (and WoE) in 2006. That's four years for the veterans here.

  20. +1 for Lightning more ground activity would be nice, with mixed units types edit: some prop for red side maybe?
  21. Back in early August 2009 I payed 60+ bucks for ROF including shipping to where I live. Not going to pay them (Neoqb) a single dollar more! I fell ripped off. Still no playable campaign with historically matching era-specific planes, not a single one (1) new 2-seater nor heavy bomber to shoot at, no ground warfare, lack of any ground-activity detail, performance worsen with every new patch. And could someone explain this to me -IF I uninstall ROF now, but would like to return to it in the (far) future -I'd need to download some then 2-3 GB of patch data before starting, right? Man I love forced updates... Red Orchestra on Steam anyone? Sorry if I sound negative, but I'm deeply disappointed by ROF and the developer's approach This title still is, and going to be incomplete release IMO.
