  5. yeah, I've seen your post there, I wonder if this is some uncovered feature, OR maybe some test/leftover from new terrain engine code? Most propably new terrain will use some sort of global maps apart from MAX models back on topic: If Wrench dont know how to fix it, apparently it can't be fixed...
  6. Ummm, no. This is due to use of heightmaps for tiles, I had the very same issue with my Israel terrain mod. I still haven't found fix for it, but this may be related to [HeightOffset] setting in terrain's data ini OR some tweak to flightengine.ini. And I really would love to find it as I have plans for using tile-specific heightmaps for one terrain Wrench works on right now edit: now I'm not that sure of the above, but after looking again on the pic, I clearly see there are no heightmaps after the line, so this points towards the heightmaps theory.

  8. sadly it's bug that we have to life with And based on my experience it's worse on ATI cards than Nvidia. Also there is some conflict with Widesky AFAIK edit: Russ, I think it's also related to the size of cloud particles in given environment mod, the bigger these are the bigger chance of alphachannel-based objects (clouds, particle effects, trees) scene sorting anomalies. Not to mention possibility of trees and clouds materials conflicts (Z-buffer offset and such) which is very hard to track and set, as at different patch level engine handles the very same settings in different way. In example what works (renders ok) in Sept 06 install may not work in Oct 08 and series2 etc.

  17. that's right, ARMA2 out of the box used to kill my card, when I came back to it few months later, patched one finally became playable. But BIS titles were allways resources demanding
  18. thanks JM! I'm worried about lowered framerates, on my system on high settings I barely reach 26-27 in A2 benchmarks. And I never liked sudden foliage lod shifting on lower settings.
  19. Anyone got it? Impressions? How's the campaign, units, missions, framerates compared to A2 etc?

  21. I don't think so... as TK wrote on Thirdwire forum there are plans for another expansion somewhere in mid 2011, but gave no details.
