[Fictional] Hawker Hunter FGA.9D (Desert Camo)
Spinners posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
View File [Fictional] Hawker Hunter FGA.9D (Desert Camo) Hawker Hunter FGA.9D for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock Hunter FGA.9 to create a fictional Hunter FGA.9D in service with Royal Air Force Middle East Command in the 1961-1972 timeline. It's really just a Hunter FGA.9 with a desert camo (two squadrons are featured; No.43 Squadron and No.112 Squadron with a sharkmouth) but it looks cool when on emergency deployment to Dhimar! INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9D folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9D folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. View File [Fictional] Hawker Hunter F.6 'Red Arrows' Hawker Hunter F.6 ' Red Arrows' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock Hawker Hunter F.6 to give my interpretation as to how it might have looked if the famous Red Arrows display team had flown it in the 1960's. I've kept it simple by using a Gnat-esque scheme but I've used white serial numbers instead of blue. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterF6ra folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterF6ra folder into your Decals folder. That's it! BTW the mission editor can be used to select all 9 aircraft leaving you to get some formation screenshots taken! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. A big thank you to Sundowner for releasing his Hunter tempates to allow ham-fisted amateurs like me to get a bit creative. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Hawker Hunter FGA.9 - RAF Far East Air Force

View File Hawker Hunter FGA.9 - RAF Far East Air Force Hawker Hunter FGA.9 - RAF Far East Air Force This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire Hunter FGA.9 to place it in service with the RAF's Far East Air Force in the 1961-1970 timeline. That really did happen but not with the Hunter wearing 'SEAC' national markings! New decals are included including 26 new tail serials and 26 new underwing serials. BACKSTORY The growing threat to Thailand, Cambodia and South Vietnam from nearby Communist states saw the deployment of the Hawker Hunter FGA.9's of No. 20 Squadron to the Far East Air Force in September 1961 followed by No.28 Squadron in July 1962. The Borneo Confrontation of 1963 saw this ground-attack wing deployed to Kuching and Labuan to commence offensive operations against Indonesian forces seeking to infiltrate across the Malaysia/Indonesia border on the island of Borneo. The Commander of the Far East Air Force, Air Marshal Sir Hector McGregor, ordered the re-introduction of the wartime 'SEAC' markings to avoid any potential confusion with the Indonesian Air Force's red and white national markings. Both squadrons were successful in helping to repel the border incursions by the Indonesians, despite the difficult terrain, and stayed in theatre until the Borneo Confrontation was declared over in August 1966 eventually departing in January 1967 when No.28 Squadron was disbanded and No.20 Squadron returned to Tengah. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9S folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9S folder into your Decals folder. It goes without saying that you'll need the Third Wire Hunter FGA.9 from 'Wings Over Europe' for this to work but if you have 'Wings Over Israel' you can use a substitute 'stock' cockpit as the aircraft LOD's are in that game. The folder designation FGA.9S is just to avoid conflict with the stock FGA.9 aircraft in 'Wings Over Europe'. CREDITS Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - 18/03/18 Submitter Spinners Submitted 03/18/2018 Category Fictional Aircraft, Experimental and UAV's -

'What if' KAW Hawker Hunter F.1 with Campiagn

File Name: 'What if' KAW Hawker Hunter F.1 with Campiagn File Submitter: dtmdragon File Submitted: 02 March 2015 File Category: What If Hangar 'What if' KAW Hawker Hunter F.1A & F.1B with campiagn 1.0 The back story: In order to meet the Mig-15 threat over Korea and with no capable fighters currently in the RAF inventory the British Ministry of Supply instructs Hawker Aviation to undertake a crash production program of its P.1067 fighter. Project ‘Huntsman’. In less than a year since the prototype flew and two years ahead of schedule the Hawker Hunter is deployed to the Korean Theatre in early 1952. Since the Hunter F.1 designation was already assigned to the first full production Hunters due into service in 1954, the Hunters produced under program ‘Huntsman’ are (unusually) designated Hunter F.1A These aircraft are basically identical to the future production Hunter F.1 the most obvious difference being that they are finished in High Speed Silver. However the lack of paint means these Hunters are 21 Mph faster and 53Kg lighter than the full production F.1 Hunters. Operations over Korea immediately highlighted the Hunters inherent shortcomings. Of most concern was its lack of fuel and endurance with barely an hour’s flight time. Also of concern was the damage done to the fuselage caused by the ejection of spent cartridge links. These concerns (among others) would be addressed in time by future models of the Hunter, but in the skies of Korea in 1952 the lack of range and endurance had to be immediately mitigated. And thus the Hunter F.1B is born with the addition of wing mounted drop tanks installed in theatre. What's in it: - Hawker Hunter F.1A - Hawker Hunter F.1B - Various RAF 43 and 222 Squadron Skins in Camo and High Speed Silver. - NOTE: The camo skins are included as a bonus but the aircraft data.ini files are set up to reflect the high speed silver skins as I have included the weight reduction and increased speed that comes without using camo paint. I found the figures I used in an article about the trial OD green Sabres in Korea. - sounds - pilot - Modified Korea Campaign using the Hunters. This will not change the original campaign in any way, you will see an additional campaign called 'Korean War Hunters Over Korea' that you can select. Missions will be similar to the Sabre, No 43 Squadron is based at Suwon AB (K-13) and No. 222 Squadron at Kimpo AB (K-14). - NOTE: this mod can be added to the Wings Over Korea mod without any change what so ever to the original game play. You will never see these Hunters show up over Korea unless you play the above included campaign or start a single mission with a Hunter. Operations: - canopy open key=10 automatic closing at take off To Install: - Designed to be used with the Wings Over Korea mod but should work without it. - Put everything in you main StrikeFighters2 KAW mods folder - Get the Wings Over Korea mod here: http://combatace.com/files/file/15221-wings-over-korea-1-of-2/ http://combatace.com/files/file/15220-wings-over-korea-2-of-2/ Credits: - Third Wire - Paulopanz Hunter F.1 Skins & Edits for SF2 - Sundowner Hunter F6 Templates. - Do335 Wings Over Korea - Evryone else in the WOK/ KAW team Released under CombatAce Fair-Use terms. View File [Fictional] Hawker Hunter F.6M (Falklands) Hawker Hunter F.6M for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 Requires SF2 DLC 001: Hunter F.6 (60) Royal Netherlands Air Force This is a very simple mod of the above to give a fictional Hunter F.6M in service with RAF South Atlantic Command with markings for No.1435 Flight. You will need to have the new 'DLC' Hunter as this mod will not work with any Hunter that isn't DLC 001 although you are welcome to reverse engineer it to suit what Hunter(s) you have in your install. BACKSTORY The introduction of the Lightning F.1 and F.1A into RAF Fighter Command in 1960 and 1961 began to free-up Hunter F.6's most of which were earmarked for conversion into ground-attack aircraft for the RAF (as the FGA.9) or for export. But the Falklands Crisis of May 1961 led to the decision to base a detachment of fighter aircraft at RAF Stanley and a batch of 8 Hawker Hunter F.6's were urgently converted into F.6M's a minimum-change conversion armed with the Firestreak missile and improved navigation and radio equipment. The first four Hunter F.6M's were dispatched as deck cargo arriving at Port Stanley in September 1961 to form No.1435 Flight who quickly christened the aircraft Faith, Hope, Charity and Desperation. The second batch of Hunters arrived in December 1961 but, with improving diplomatic relations, they were basically used to keep the original four aircraft airworthy until a rotation policy was adopted. The Hunter F.6M's served until 1972 when they were replaced by Lightning F.2A's. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterF6M folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterF6M folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Hawker Hunter FGA.9 'Belize' - Royal Air Force for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1 This is a very simple mod of the sublime Third Wire Hunter FGA.9 to enable you to fly a 1960's era Hunter with either No.1417 Flight based in Belize or No.1435 Flight based on the Falkland Islands. Both are very famous flights in the RAF but such deployments are, of course, fictional. For gameplay reasons, No.1417 Flight are squadron strength whilst No.1435 Flight are just a four-ship with Faith, Hope, Charity and Desperation tail codes! This will only work in 'Wings Over Europe' but you can, of course, also make it work in the other Third Wire Series One games by extracting and exporting all of the relevant files. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9b folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9b into your Decals folder. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9 into your Decals folder. CREDITS Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim. Thanks to former member Syrinx for making the fuselage serial numbers. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
