THis is a simple mission just to recreat a suicidal NV anti-ship mission. It's fictional.
 
Radar contacts 9 o'clock. Take-off and intercept. Probably migs trying to sink the USS United States. 4 contacts
They've gone mad!!!

*F-4B Late. This aircraft is included in the WOV Air & Ground War Expansion Pack Gold by eburger86.

Background:
 
In September, 1972 detachment 1 of the 474th TFS, 428th TFS, 429th TFS, 430th TFS
 
fighter-bombers flew to Takhli RTAFB in Thailand.

THE MISSION...
 
EWR report: Small fast-moving radar contacts approaching from the east. Probably fighters. 2 contacts on screen, probably on tight formation. Expect more.
 
Intellicence report:Soviet fighters are performing sweeps to gather information about our ECM. Data gathered will be of great importance for the east development of counter-countermeasures and EW. If shot down, debris from the Migs will be available for study.
 
Your squadron: You and your squadron are on CAP in the area at the time. Shoot'em down.

This is small modification of stock WOE Red Lightning campaign letting Mirage Factory F-14A Tomcat operates from Nimitz carrier on the Baltic Sea near Danish Straits area.
 
I changed stock CVA-63 carrier name to CVN-68 Nimitz and decals number to 68 (to be more similar). Also added Location013=Baltic Sea and placed carrier under Danish Straits area. And of course added USN Jolly Rogers squadron instead of last F-15A unit ([uSAFUnit029] -> [uSNUnit001]) with typical supply: AIM-7F, AIM-9L, AIM-54A, Tank330_F14_W.
 
Requirements:
 
- MF F-14A Tomcat (F-14A folder) properly instaled for first gen. sims (remember change F-14A.ini code format from UNICODE to ANSI, decals on right place and weapons) with VF-84 Jolly Rogers skin inside.

Briefing:
 

Reconnaissance mission: Perform a recon flight over Nikolskoye-1 Airfield, located near Severnoye Nikolskoye, in Komandorskiye Ostrova. Photographic information about anti-aircraft and communication facilities is to be gathered. You' ve ve flying a RF-4C Phantom II, deployed from Task Force 70, CSG-5. Iron Hand mission: Neutralise SAM radars and EW radars on Nikolskoye-1 Airfield, located near Severnoye Nikolskoye, in Komandorskiye Ostrova. You'll be flying a F-4G Wild Weasel V, deployed from Erickson Air Station, in the Aleutian Islands. Escort Mission: Escort Wild Weasels birds performing Iron Hand on Nikolskoye-1 Airfield, located near Severnoye Nikolskoye, in Komandorskiye Ostrova. You'll be flying F-15A Eagle, and deployed from Casco Cove CGS Airfield. A small number of hostiles is expected.
