  1. A-20A Havoc, 89th BS

Douglas A-20A 'Havoc' mod for SF/WoV/WoE PTO WW2 Installs

While working on upgrading the targets for the New Guinea map, I realized we didn't have any of the very early model Havoc's as used by General Kinney's 5th Air Force. To that end, this little mod was developed.

It represents A-20A aircraft from the 89th Bomb Squadron (Light) of the 3rd Attack Group, based at Port Moresby in mid-1942. I've tried to match, with what few photos are available, the serial numbers and nose arts. The first 7 serials =are= actual aircraft that served in the South West Pacific theatre, and I've matched as best I can the nose arts used. With the exception of "Rebel Rocket", whose serial number I was unable to find. Altogether, you'll have serials for ~28 aircraft, which is probably more than General Kinney had working at any given time, in that early stage of the war.

These aircraft, even though they still have the glass nose, have been given the 'strafer kit' of 4 fixed forward firing 50 caliber machine guns. The bomb aimer's station is not used on these aircraft; the windows have been painted over. The 2 cheek guns have been removed; I've found no data indicating they were used.

There are 2 ways I've designed for this to be used

    1) Just use it as another skin for the A-20C/Boston III. or,
this is the best way, and how I built it...
    2) Create a new aircraft for USAAF usage. All parts (inis, skin, etc), excepting the aircraft LODs and cockpit folder are supplied for you to do this. A new gunsight tga has also been supplied for use. There's even a new hangar screen, too.

= =You MUST have the latest Weapons Pak to get the WW2 Weapons and Guns!! ==

PLEASE read the enclosed readme for detailed, step-by-step instructions for both choices...I didn't write it for my health, I wrote it make YOUR lives easier... There's also the usual comments from "General Notes", plus a list of sources and Thank Yous

  3. B-29 Superfortress for SF:P1

This is first public version of famous B-29 Superfortress plane for Strike Fighters - officialy AI only. Enjoy it and please report bugs.
The first B-29 strike on a North Korean port took place on 13 July 1950. Within two months, FEAF Bomber Command had attacked all identified strategic targets in North Korea. The B-29 was also used for some close air support and tactical bombing missions....

  5. Douglas A-24 Banshee

Douglas A-24 "Banshee" Light Attack/Dive Bomber

This is a mod of Wolf257's SBD 'Dauntless' dive-bomber into the A-24 "Banshee" as used by the US Army Air Force, circa 1942 in the SouthWest Pacific/New Guinea region

This is to be considered as an "incomplete" aircraft mod, due to the non-inclusion of certain files. I've NOT included the aircraft LOD file, as per Wolf's wishes . See below "To Install" for a complete list of the necessary parts. The cockpit IS included, however.
You -MUST- have the SBD to make use of this aircraft, as you'll be coping files over from it.

The new skin, from a completly redrawn template, represents aircraft from the 8th Bomb Squadron, as seen in and around Port Moresby circa mid-1942. Serial numbers are suppled for 24 aircraft; these are 100% accurate AAF serials as used on Banshees, but I claim no accuracy as to if any of them were on the 8th's aircraft.

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft is designed for use in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-, it is NOT reccomended for use in a post 8/08 or 10/08 patch environment, as the flight model will probably be a little 'squiffy' =

= This mod is designed for use with the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06, as it contains all the needed weapons . If attempting to use this aircraft with any other weapons pak, you'll need to add ALL the WW2 era bombs, torpedoes, etc. They are NOT included in this package. =

As ususal, there's detailed readme with the install instructions. Read it or weep

  6. Douglas DB-7 Armee De L'Air (BoF)

Douglas DB-7 Light Bomber, French Air Force, for SF/ WoV/WoE WW2 installs

This is a mod of the Dev A-Team's A-20C Havoc/Boston into an 'almost' earlier version for the French Air Force during the Battle of France. I say 'almost', as the original DB-7s had several physical differences to the later USAAF and RAF and everyone else's version.

NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE THE LATEST WEAPONS PAK INSTALLED TO GET THE WW2 WEAPONS AND GUNS

It should also be noted, you'll be adding a new machine gun, and 3 new bombs for the AdA. Warm up your gun and weapons editors!!!

PLEASE read the readme enclosed for full, detailed instructions. Full list of contrubutors is there as well!!
With special thanks to Heck for creating the 7.5 MAC mg.

    Happy Landings!

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a PERMISSION aircraft ONLY!!! It is not to be included in any mods without express, written consent of the Dev A-Team. It is not to be shared in any other way!! Even though I, The Wrench, am a Freeware Signatory, this mod, and any other mods of DAT Procudts are NOT covered by the Freeware Treaty.

  7. Douglas DB-7A (French) Decals Update

    Douglas DB-7A AdA

    Decals and Decal Update

Whilst doing some research for another project, I stumbled across a long out of print copy of "Profile # 202: Douglas A-20 (7A-Boston III)" on pdf, and it had some really nice profiles and photos of French DB-7s from the Battle of France time period. Including placement of individual aircraft numbers.

I know the font isn't exactly the right one, but it's damn close! To make thinks easier, I've left all the rudder tags in, as I'm too lazy to remove them, and the file size (zipped) is still below 500k.

Easy to follow instructions in the Enclosed "youread"

Sorry about that folks, but this is an easy fix!

    Enjoy!

  9. Grumman TBF-1 Avenger Mod

    Grumman TBF-1 Avenger -- A Mod of the Dev A-Team's TBF-1C

This is a mod of the DAT's TBM-1C Avenger of WW2 fame, into an early war version, circa 1942

This is to be considered as an "incomplete" aircraft mod, due to the non-inclusion of certain files. I've NOT included the aircraft LOD file nor the cockpit folder. See below "To Install" for a complete list of the necessary parts.
You -MUST- have the DAT's TBF-1C to make use of this aircraft, as you'll be coping files over from it.

The new skin, from a completly redrawn template based on Gramps' original skins, represents VT-3 based aboard USS Saratoga (CV-3) circa August/September 1942, approximately the time of the Battle of Santa Cruz and the fight for Guadalcanal. All the panel and rivet lines have been redone, new decals created for 'plane in group numbers', aircraft designation, and BuNums for 24 aircraft. It can also be considered a rather 'generic' USN/USMC version, as most units carried no markings. Some USMC VMSB units DID use a 3-digit ID number, based upon the aircrafted BuNum, but that's a story for another day...

I've included all the inis I've modified, so you'll be copying the minimum number of bits. The data ini includes mods that remove the wing guns, and adds the single 30 caliber MG on the nose. Unfortunatley, the LOD still contains the postions of the 2 wing mounted 50 cals, so you'll have to suspend disbelief (or pretend they're broom handles stuck there to fool enemy fighters that they're real guns)
Surface search radar has also been activated. NEW damage tgs's have also been created (they can be used on any of the TBF/TBMs).

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft is designed for use in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-, I have NOT tested it in post -8/28/08- patch WoI =

=This mod is designed for use with the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06, as it contains all the needed weapons . If attempting to use this aircraft with any other weapons pak, you'll need to add ALL the WW2 era bombs, torpedoes, etc. They are NOT included in this package.=

As you probably suspect, there's a highly detailed, step-by-step readme included, so you'd be wise to read it!!! And as always, the usual notes and comments and general nonsense....

  10. Hudson Ini Tweeks Pak

Lockheed Hudson Tweeks Pak -For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 ETO Installs

Some small ini mods and a new gunsight for Veltro2K's RAF medium bomber.

The data ini has had the lighting repositioned, modified and adjusted to more closely match those seen on Real Life ™ aircraft. The loadout ini has been adjusted for the use of 'RAF***' type bombs only (although US AN series can still be loaded on the loading screen), and the cockpit ini has the addition of a 'ring-and-bead' type gunsight.
Enhanced AI sections have also been added.

Several sub-folder that are included here contain new textureset inis for the "CC" and "RAF1" skins, with the addition of the squadron names, and the inclusion of the Squadron Crests as the patch.bmp. The folder name remain the same, but the 'in-game' name you'll see will reflect these changes. CC will now show "48 Squadron, Coastal Command". RAF1 will now show "500 Squadron".

=This mod is designed for use with the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06, as it contains all the needed weapons . If attempting to use this aircraft with any other weapons pak, you'll need to add ALL the WW2 era guns, bombs, torpedoes, etc. They are NOT included in this package.=

As expected, there's a nice readme included -- the MOD requres you read it and follow the instructions therein

    Enjoy!

Following Slovakia's participation in the German Invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, Slovak Š-328s were used for anti-partisan operations in western Ukraine in the summer of 1941, being used again on the Eastern front in the summer of 1942.
Three Slovakian aircraft were seized by Slovak insurgents and actually flown against the Germans in late 1944 during the Slovak National Uprising in September to October 1944. (Wikipedia)

  21. Pasko's Mosquito BIV

Here's request number two: Pasko's Mossie. Not mine; his. Kesselbrut did the cockpit, Starfighter the fm, Gramps the skins, Pasko the rest. I believe I have one of Wrench's skins in my folder also, the midwar Green and Grey scheme. As per my last upload, if anyone who actually worked on this wants it taken down, I'll pull it. Posting it simply as a favor to friends. It's just a .rar of the Mossie folder in my WW2 setup.

Well, the request line is still open and the requests keep coming in, so:

Here's Pasko's FB Mosquito in it's original .rar. Not even unwrapped. Same list of suspects as the previous version; Pasko, Kesselbrut, Gramps, and Starfighter. Presented here to keep this wonderful work alive. These guys did awsome modelling, and I would hate to see new people unable to experience it. Don't know what else of Pasko's work I have, but I'll look if you keep requesting. This is for all you guys who feel you have to have guns with your wooden wings....
