*******
A6M
*******
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero-Sen legendary status mirrored the fortunes of the rising sun, in which four years, the sun would finally set. For the Japanese and its former enemies, the A6M was the symbol of Japanese air power. The A6M fighter marked the beginning of a new epoch in naval aviation and was the first shipboard fighter capable of surpassing land-based aircraft.1 With its tight turning radius, it was an extremely deadly weapon in a dogfight, and was famous for its ability to outmaneuver, Brewster F2A Buffaloes, Curtiss P-40s and Grumman F4F Wildcats. As early as 1937, Claire Chennault, the author of 'The Role of Defensive Pursuit,' warned the USAAF about the dangers of Japanese air power. Apparently his warnings were ignored, as the superiority of the A6M was a complete surprise to the American forces.2 As leader of the Flying Tigers, Chennault constantly stressed to his pilots, 'Never try to turn with a Zero. Always get above the enemy and try to hit him with the first pass.'3 Because of the A6Ms exceptional range and performance, it was to bear the brunt of the action, of almost every military engagement in the Pacific, until the end of the war. 4
*******
Ki-43
*******
The Hayabusa was a sleek little dogfighter, relatively slow and lightly armed (just two fuselage-mounted machine guns at a time when other fighters were carrying multiple machine guns or even cannon in their wings). At first, these weaknesses seemed not to matter, but as time went on, the Hayabusa was totally outclassed by its opponents in every respect except tight-turning dogfighting. And even that advantage counted little against enemy aircraft that refused to meet the Hayabusa on its own terms. Unfortunately for Japan, the Hayabusa had to continue on as a front-line fighter to the end, because its successor-the Ki-84 Hayate (which see)-was never available in sufficient quantities, and was not as reliable as the older fighter.
Interestingly, design work on the Ki-43 began even before its predecessor, the Ki-27 Nate, entered service with the JAAF. In December 1937, the Army told the Nakajima company to design a new fighter to supercede the Ki-27. The new plane would be faster in level flight (300+ mph), swifter-climbing (5 minutes to 16,405 ft.), longer-ranged (a radius of action of 500 statute miles), with the same armament and maneuverability as the earlier fighter. The Nakajima team, led by Hideo Itokawa, worked steadily for a year, and the new plane was first flown early in January 1939.
*******
G4M2
*******
Designed to an incredibly demanding 1938 Navy specification, the G4M family (given the code-name "Betty" by the Allies) was the Imperial Japanese Navy's premier heavy bomber in World War II; yet the insistence on the great range of 2,000 nautical miles (3,706 km) with full bomb load made the saving of weight take priority over defence and the aircraft was highly vulnerable and not very popular. The wing was of the same Mitsubishi 118 section as the Zero-Sen and boldly designed as an integral fuel tank to accommodate no less than 5,000 litres (1,100 gal). The company kept recommending four engines and being overruled by the Navy, which, during the early flight-test stage, wasted more than a year, and 30 aircraft, in trying to make the design into the G6M bomber escort with a crew of ten and 19 guns.
Eventually the G4M1 was readied for service as a bomber and flew its first missions in South East China in May 1941. More than 250 operated in the Philippines and Malayan campaigns, but after the Solomons battle in August 1942 it began to be apparent that, once intercepted and hit, the unprotected bomber went up like a torch (hence the Allied nickname "one-shot lighter"). Total production reached the exceptional quantity of 2,479, most of them in the many sub-types of G4M2 with increased fuel capacity and power. Finally the trend of development was reversed with the G4M3 series with full protection and only 968 gal fuel.

FW-190A-8/R2 "Wurger"
By howling1
Foche-Wulf FW-190A-8/R2 " Wurger " Readme
------------
1. This is a mod of Wolf257's original FW-190A ( FW-190A-5 ) aircraft. The FW-190A-8/R2 was a field
modification intended to give the Luftwaffe more firepower when dealing with the heavily armored
Allied four engined bombers such as the B-17, the B-24, and the Lancaster. Primary change was to the
armament, with 13mm MG131s replacing the 7.92mm fuselage MGs, and the outboard wing cannon changed
to 30mm Mk.108s. Some FW-190A-8s also were modded to carry underwing gunpods with either a single
30mm cannon or twin 20mm MG151s. When these gunpods are released in the future, the FW-190A-8/R2
will be able to carry them, as well as Wgr 21 210mm unguided rockets on their release also.
2. To install, drop the FW190A-8R2 folder in your Objects/Aircraft folder. Then open the " Items You
Need To Add To... " folder and follow the instructions included in the readme there.
3. Special thanks goes to Wolf257 for allowing me to mod his "Baby", & Gramps for graciously allowing
me to use his JG300 skin.

Ki-43IIb "Oscar" Mod
By Wrench
Ki-43IIb Hayabusa "Oscar" For SF/WoV/WoE WW2: PTO installs
This is a modification of Wolf257's Ki-43 into the later version, the IIb as used by the IJAAF.
This is a semi- complete aircraft mod, creating a new version for use in your World War 2: PTO installs ONLY!!
I say 'semi-complete', because pursuant to Wolf's wishes, the aircraft LOD file is NOT included (you'll have to transfer it over from the exisiting Ki-43 --make sure it's Wolf's Ki-43, NOT ArmourDaves!!. Almost everything else is included; all the inis, an new skin, hangar screen and my damage tgas as well. The cockpit itself is NOT included, as you'll be using the one from AD's A6M5 Zero.
The skin represents 204 Sentai, in the Home Defense role circa 1944-to the end of the war. I've redrawn all the panel lines, added my 'interperative' rivet lines (meaning no claims to accuracy are made!), simulated fabric control surfaces and dirtied it up some. As this is a natural metal skin, it has no worn-off green camo. Individual aircraft numbers are 'best guess' based on a few profiles. Therefore, no accuracy is claimed for those as well.
PLEASE read the enclosed readme for fully detailed, step-by-step install instructions, plus commentaries and general explanitory notes.
Enjoy!

Focke Wulf Projekt II
By Timmy
This was the second design from Kurt Tank of the Focke-Wulf company for a single-jet engine, single-seat fighter, submitted June 9, 1943. The wing was mounted mid-fuselage and had a slight sweep on the leading edge and straight trailing edges. A turbojet was slung beneath the fuselage because of fears of operational problems associated with mounting the jet engine on top of the fuselage. The main advantage was to facilitate maintenance, but there were several bigger disadvantages to this design, such as the nose wheel blocking the intake on takeoff and landing, foreign matter being sucked into the intake since it was so close to the ground and the destruction of the jet engine in case of a belly landing. I have created three skins for the aircraft - JGI, JGII and JG26.
Airplane Model by Timmy with generous help from Capun. FM horribly done by Timmy - based on Geo's He-162 with bits and pieces taken from Wolf257's FW-190. Thank you Gentlemen.

KM Bf-109T10
By Wrench
Bf-109T10 Carrier Based Fighter
For SF/WoV/WoE WW2: SWOTL Installs
A definate "What If..." style of aircraft, based off of Wolf257's Bf-109G10.
I've taken more than a few liberties, most of which is using the later model G10 for the base aircraft. We make the assumption that the KM, having fielded the original 109T-2/3 (originally modified/rebuilt from Emils), found them a little lacking, and had the Messerschmitt factory create a newer version, based off the Gustav 10. Hence the reason for calling it the "Bf-109T10". Also, the fact I don't have the skin template for the Russo's E, and I do for the G...it was an easy choice. This is reflected in the 'StartYear=' of 1944
The aircraft has been modified for carrier usage via data ini edits; the arrester hook exists 'virtually' via said edits. The skin and decaling are purely from my imagination (and laziness). The basic splinter camo pattern, I believe, makes perfect sense when seen against the gray sea background of the North Atlantic. Also, I got the reuse the decals I'd made perviously for other skin upgrades I've done for the WW2 Luftwaffe.
Please read the enclose readme for FULL install instructions, and some historical notes on the real aircraft. (plus an explination as to why there are 2 skin bmps...)
With thanks to Wolf257 for giving us these wonder WW2 birds; and the rest of the modders who allow us to relive (and remake) history
Enjoy!

KM Ju-87T mod for SF/WoV/WoE: WW2 ETO
This is a modification of Pasko's Ju-878B Stuka into the proposed version to be used on the aircraft carrier "Graf Zeppelin" and it's brothers.
This pak contains almost everything you'll need to create this new version, minus a few critical files that you'll need to copy from the original Ju-87. In other words:
THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE AIRCRAFT PACKAGE --
YOU =WILL= BE TRANSFERING FILES FROM THE ORIGINAL STUKA
--- You must have the latest Weapons Pak to make use of the WW2 Bombs and Guns!!! ---
You'll find in this zip:
1 skin folders labeled "KM" (this is a re-decaling of the original skin. I've repainted only the 'body.bmp, to remove the insigina...so it still get's originators credit)
Ju-87T.ini
Ju-87T_DATA.INI (with the necessary naval mods)
Ju-87T_LOADOUT.INI
Ju87B_loadout.bmp
ju87t_readme.txt (this file)
KM Stuka Hangar screen -- only available in this mod!!!
various damage tgas "_holes.tga"
"KM" skin folder (minus 3 original bmps; you'll need to copy them from your Ju-87B - see below for details)
=the skin folder contains all the decals, textureset and decals ini=
I HAVE included Kesselbrut's Stuka cockpit, to make things just a little bit easier.
You'll need Pasko's original JU-87B for the following files and folders:
Ju 87B.lod
Ju 87B_001.lod
Ju 87B_002.lod
Ju 87B_Shadow.SHD
Skin files:
LeftWing.bmp
RightWing.bmp
Tail.bmp
More, detailed instructions are in the enclosed readme -- so read it!!!!! Don't be lazy!!!

"What If.." Fw-190AT (KM)
By Wrench
Focke Wulf Fw-190AT, Carrier-Based "What If..." for SF, WoV & WoE WW2 Installs:
This is a semi-complete aircraft mod based on Wolf257's FW-190A, converting it into a 'What If" version hypothetically used by the Kriegs Marine on it's aircraft carriers.
I say 'semi-complete', because as per Wolf's wishes, the aircraft lod is NOT included. You'll have to copy it over from one of the other FWs.
This skin has new, redrawn panel and rivet lines -- to which I claim NO historical accuracy! I don't know enough about the Luftwaffe (or especially in the un-real Kreigs Marine version) markings and such; so accept them for what they are, just eye candy.
You also get new Luftwaffe-style outlined aircraft number decals (by me!), and a nice KM nose badge decal as well.
The camo pattern is pretty much standard RLM colors, splinter type. The other markings are all from my rather vivid imagination; as these aircraft never existed (and could probably NEVER be made into a fully navalized version), I ask that you all accept this is the spirt it engenders ... pure fun and a little exploration in the "What If..." realms of the Second World War.
PLEASE read the read me for further, detailed instructions. There's also a "Fictional Historical Notes" section that might be fun to read!
Good Hunting!

FW-190F8 "Jabo"
By Wrench
Focke Wulf Fw-190F Package for SF, WoV & WoE WW2 ETO/MTO/SWOTL Installs:
This package includes skin and ini mods of the original 190 into the =definitave= 190F ground attack/close support version.
This is a semi-complete package conatining all necessary parts to create the new aircraft =EXCEPT= the FW190.LOD. It's Wolf's wish that the lod not be distributed in new packages, but it's a simple matter to just copy it over from another Wurger.
All other parts; cockpit, all the inis, updated gunsight tga are included. I call it semi-complete package for the above reason, but NEW data, loadout, cockpit and main inis are included, due to several modifications I've effected. There are even new hangar and loading screens, specifically designed for this ground-attack version.
There are 2 skins in this package (hence the ETO/MTO tag at the top!):
9/SG4 based in France & Germany in the post D-Day time frame (attached to KG51);
I-SG4 based on Sardinia for use in the MTO/Italian theatre.
It is suggested that you do NOT mix these skins in the same theatre of operations, but rather 'split' the install between your ETO and MTO game setups.
---- Please note you MUST have the latest Weapons Pack for the WW2 Axis weapons ----
PLEASE read the enclosed readme for detailed install instructions, and other important notes. I wrote it...you better read it!!
Most importantly, information about the modified loadouts (see picture above for some idea of what you can get!)
Happy Hunting!

Bf-109G6 Mod Pak
By Wrench
Messerschmitt Bf-109G6 skin & ini tweeks for SF, WoV & WoE WW2 Installs:
-Modification of one of Wolf257's Messerschmitts....
This is a semi-complete package, creating another version of the famed Messerschmitt Bf-109. It contains just about everything needed.
I say semi-complete, because the aircraft LOD file is NOT included, as per his wishes, but everthing else is. You will also be adding 2 stand-in under-wing gun gondolas for the MK108 30mm and MK151 20mm cannons. I say stand-in, as the pod used is NOT the correct shape. So, you WILL be using the Weapons Editor to add the new gun pods. They use existing weapons, so there's no problems there. These are just here until a 3d modeler steps up and gives us the correct shapes for the 2 different pods.
The skin included represents JG53 in late 44/early 45, and has been enhanced with new panel, rivet lines, and new stenciling for the warning and info tags. My damged tgs and NEW 109G6 hangar and loadoing screens -ONLY available in this mod- are also included.
PLEASE read the enclosed reamde file for full detailed install instructions, as well as other notes and commentaries.
Good Hunting!

FW-109A8/R8 Sturmbok
By Wrench
Focke Wulf Fw-190A8 Package for SF, WoV & WoE WW2 ETO/SWOTL Installs:
This is a re-skin and ini mods of the original 190 into a FW-190A8/R8 'Sturmbok' bomber killer.
This is a semi-complete package conatining all necessary parts to create the new aircrafte =EXCEPT= the FW190.LOD. It's Wolf's wishes the lod not be distributed in new packages, but it's a simple matter to just copy it over from another Wurger.
All other parts; cockpit, all the inis, updated gunsight tga are included. I've also added my 2 newest hangar and loading screens (also available in the FW-190A5 update pak)
This skin represents Fw-190A8R8 from 11/JG3 in the late 44/45 time frame in Western Europe/Germany.
I have tried to make it as accurate as possible, even to getting the proper RLM colors added to my swatch list. As best I could, I even added the little warning placards around the fuselage, wings and tail. Along with the 'eagle head' shape over the fuselage, now outlined in red for JG3.
PLEASE read the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions and other stuff.
Happy Landings!

This is a re-build of Wolf's original 109G10 into the Bf-109K4. This is a semi-complete package that includes all the necessary inis, tga, skin bmps, cockpit and cockpit mods --EXCEPTING-- the aircraft LOD file. You'll be copying the LOD from the 109G10 for use in this mod.
The skin represents JG77 in the late war time frame. It was created by my enhanced template, with redrawn panel and rivets, and the stencling for the warning/service tags.
This package also includes a NEW 109K hangar screen, ONLY available in this mod.
PLEASE read the enclosed readme for detailed install instructions, plus my notes and comments. Important stuff, folks!
