Hawker Siddeley HS 748
The Hawker Siddeley HS 748 is a medium-sized turboprop airliner originally designed by the British firm Avro in the late 1950s as a replacement for the aging DC-3s then in widespread service as feederliners. Avro concentrated on performance, notably for STOL operations, and found a dedicated market. 380 aircraft were built by Hawker Siddeley. A larger development, the BAe ATP, attempted to compete with the de Havilland Canada Dash 8 but saw a limited production run.The 748 Series 1 and Series 2 were also licence-produced in India by Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) as the HAL-748. HAL built 89 aircraft in India, 72 for the Indian Air Force and 17 for the Indian Airlines Corporation.
This model was going to be released as eye candy with the Indo-Pak MOD and has been sitting on my hard drive for at least a year and a half, so it will be released as is since source file was lost.
Model: Veltro2k
Cockpit: Kesselbrut

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COMBAT ACE MODDERS AGREEMENT
The English Electric Canberra is a British first-generation jet-powered light bomber manufactured in large numbers through the 1950s. The Canberra could fly at a higher altitude than any other bomber through the 1950s and set a world altitude record of 70,310 ft (21,430 m) in 1957. Due to its ability to evade the early jet interceptors, and its significant performance advancement over contemporary piston-engined bombers, the Canberra was a popular export product and served with many nations.
Canberra B Mk.2 was the first production version, crew increased to three with addition of bomb aimer, Avon R.A.3 engines with 6,500 lbf (28.91 kN) of thrust, wingtip fuel tanks. 418 built by English Electric (208), Avro (75), Handley Page (75) and Short Brothers & Harlan (60) including eight for export (Australia, United States and Venezuela).

The Hawker Sea Fury was a British fighter aircraft developed for the Royal Navy by Hawker during the Second World War.
The last propeller-driven fighter to serve with the Royal Navy, it was also one of the fastest production single

Exported to a number of countries, it acquitted itself well in the Korean War even against the MiG-15 jet aircraft.

In order to provide an urgent counter to the air incursions, with Saudi towns close to the border being bombed by Egyptian aircraft, an additional interim contract, called "Magic Carpet", was placed in March 1966 for the supply of six ex-RAF Lightnings (four F.2s and two T.4 trainers, redesignated F.52 and T.54 respectively), six Hawker Hunters, two air defence radars and a number of Thunderbird surface-to-air missiles. The "Magic Carpet" Lightnings were delivered to Saudi Arabia in July 1966, with an additional F.52 being delivered in May 1967 to replace a Lightning lost in an accident.
Lightning F.52 Slightly modified ex-RAF F.2 single-seat fighters for export to Saudi Arabia (5 converted - 4 in service).
Lightning F.53, otherwise known as the Export Lightning, developed as a private venture by BAC; while the Lighning had originated as an interception aircraft, this version was to have a multirole capability for quickly interchanging between interception, reconnaissance, and ground-attack duties. The F.53 was based on the F.6 airframe and avionics, including the large ventral fuel tank, cambered wing and overwing pylons for drop tanks of the F.6, but incorporated an additional pair of hardpoints under the outer wing. These hardpoints could be fitted with pylons for air-to-ground ordnance, including two 1,000 lb (450 kg) bombs or four SNEB rocket pods each carrying 18 68 mm rockets. A gun pack carrying two ADEN cannon and 120 rounds each could replace the forward part of the ventral fuel tank.[20][nb 1] Alternative, interchangeable packs in the forward fuselage carried two Firestreak missiles, two Red Top missiles, twin retractable launchers for 44× 2-inch rockets, or a reconnaissance pod fitted with five 70 mm Type 360 Vinten cameras. (35 to RSAF; 12 to KAF)

BAC Lightning F.Mk 52 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 (EP2)
This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire BAC Lightning F.2 to make the little-known F.Mk 52 version that was exported to Saudi Arabia as part of 'Operation Magic Palm' an early UK supplied defence package that also saw the supply of Lightning T.Mk 54 trainers, Hawker Hunters and Thunderbird SAM's. Four F.Mk 2's were withdrawn from RAF stocks and were refurbished at BAC Warton to F.Mk 52's before being delivered to the Royal Saudi Air Force in 1966 with a fifth F.Mk 52 joining them in 1967. Rather confusingly, four of these five aircraft were re-serialled so there are nine serial numbers included here.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Lightning52 folder into your Aircraft folder.
2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Lightning52 folder into your main Decals folder.
3. From the SOUNDS folder drag and drop the Avon_Dry and Avon_Wet files into your main Sounds folder.
CREDITS
Thanks to Third Wire for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim.
And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
