ShockStroke= (what does the value mean or control and is it specific to the particular model?) SpringFactor= (what does the value mean or control?) ShockStroke=the length of movement the your Shock absorber mesh moves when landing or taking off. SpringFactor= how hard your springs are ie, too hard and your shock absorber wont compress when the aircraft is on the ground. DampingFactor= how "bouncy" your springs are....not enough damping and your aircraft will appear to bounce and wobble when sat on the runway etc. You Will find that you usually have to mess around with them all to get a satisfactory result. I mean if we had for example 3 different mods of a MiG-21bis, and each model has a different length for the shock absorber mesh, then each model would require a different ShockStroke entry equal to the absorber mesh length, right?

Sundowner Posted yesterday at 04:15 PM Posted yesterday at 04:15 PM I think the ShockStroke entry is simply the amount that you would like to move the particular mesh or meshes, the actual Shock mesh doesn't always have to be the the main part, it could be a child of something else...axel for example. The controlling element is the mesh that you've set your "ShockAnimationID=" to.....if you get what I mean . Hopefully one of our 3d experts can explain it a little better. 1

Top image shows too low ("too short") of an entry, and bottom shows too high ("too long") of an entry. IIRC, middle image reminds me most of what the tires on a Sikorsky S-61R looked like when parked - just a little squashed... 1 1
Gepard Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago IIRC, in the early days of SFP1 we had after some gamepatches the problem of "dancing airplanes on the runway". While running over the taxiway during waiting of take off the planes jumped like mad. With editing of ShockStroke, SpringFactor and DampingFactor this problem was cured. It was trial and error to find the correct balues. 1 1
