This is the HUD which i made for my MiG-23MK carrierborne fighter. I used Magos excellent MiG-21MF cockpit and modified HUD files of MarcFighters Su-27.

What do you think about it?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man that is cool!!!!!!!!

I am trying to find photos of ASP-23D (MiG-23M) displaying elements, but no luck so far.

I only have a few seconds of video showing it, with just fixed reflected gunsight grid on.

And MiG-23UB flight manual does not help, since it has the same gunsight as MiG-21.

Thing is, I am interested what elements it contains. MiG-23ML and later have "normal" HUD, but that one had to be something to see!

MiG-23MF should be very close thing, but some were reworked MiG-23M, and it basically got for export at the time as MiG-23ML appeared (76-77). I speculate that some could have updated displays (like they got SOUA installation and dorsal fin tank "excluded").

Any luck with Overscan's info?

Can we add Horizonline or some other elements from radar (in avioncs70.dll) to hud?

Little summary:

1. we know, which versions are with HUD: M/MF/ML/MLA/MLD/P

2. we can use Paladrians Mig-21MF pit for them, and we know how delete "that thing to the right of the gunsight"

(look on post number 59 in this topic) - so we have good looking Mig-23 pit.

3. we can use Paladrians Mig-21MF pit without changes for versions with radar scope and looks and works good

4. Gepard has very nice HUD for "what if" Mig-23MK

Also we have many good Mig-23 cockpit photos plus many good HUD drawnings.

Question is: is anybody working on HUD which is closer to photos and drawnings, or we will use excellent Gepards Mig-23MK HUD (after its upload, of course)?

Another question is: is it possible make HUD closer (not the same of course) to photos?

And we have BIG NEWS: MIG-15/17 PIT IS WIP!

Looks real good. :good:

BTW, does the Mig-23 in the game carry radar guided missles or just heat seeking?

Mig-23 can cary both versions, R-23R and R-23T too (there are two pylons for these missiles typs on Mig-23).

This means 2xR-23R or 2xR-23T or combined 1xR-23R and R-23T.

You can carry them on Migs with Sapfir-23 RL.

Slightly off topic yes, but I want to add a HUD to the F-4E for a mod I am working on. What would I do for that?

Wow, that is good. Paladrians WIP pit is closer to Mig-17, I think

Well, can't wait for both :clapping:

And I am still happy, because there is one great HUD mod by Gepard in the download section

I am happy like little child
