Restored Vulcan bomber takes to the skies

Recommended Posts

Not a big issue, it is actually good to see some good historical relics (or those somewhat related) in good hands.

Supported by charitable donations from the general public (some 20,000 of them apparently) and a £2.7m donation from the national lottery (i.e. government).

Man how did I miss this. I would love to see this thing fly in person. I mean it is by far one of the most beautiful planes ever made.

yup, I'm hoping that she comes up to Scotland for the RAF Leuchars airshow - been too long without the tin triangle in the sky & the howl of those Olympus in the ears.

btw another one, XL462, is being rebuilt/restored to power as well although the CAA won't generally allow aircraft like this to be operated by normal civilians.

We've got quite a few historic aircraft (Victor, Buccaneer, EE Lightnings etc.) in the UK that are kept at least in fast taxi status.
