charlielima Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 (edited) I'm not suggesting outsourcing, but these little brutes have a usefull load of 8790lbs / 3987kgs. Check them out at: http://airtractor.com/Default.aspx?p=8723 They come one seat or two and floats even. I could see chasing the gomers thru the bush driving one of these in green lizard or desert warpaint gunned, up and some of our favorite ordinance on hardpoints. Well Doggies! CL Edited May 19, 2008 by charlielima Quote
+Syrinx Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I remember reading a novel whereby some sleeper KGB operatives in the US used these AG-Cat aircraft to spray nerve gas at strategic locations in the US (NSA hq, Pentagon etc). Was a good story but I can't recall what it was called right now. Quote
charlielima Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 (edited) Oh Great! I hope this doesn't put me on some DOJ / DHS or what list. I just want to shoot the guns and drop the bombs from the computer sim airplane  CL Edited May 19, 2008 by charlielima Quote

+allenjb42 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Has anyone heard of this SM-27 Machete? it looks pretty cool as a concept COIN and tactical fighter, but I wonder what it would be like in real life? http://www.stavatti.com/machete/m_homepage.html http://www.stavatti.com/SM27JL_GALLERY.html http://www.stavatti.com/SM27ST_GALLERY.html http://www.stavatti.com/SM47_GALLERY.html There are models to download for Xplane on the site too. I wonder if we could get them into SF? Here's one in USAF colours And, of course, the obligatory IAF repaint Quote
charlielima Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) Wow! A ferrari with a gun. I was pondering how to have or put an internal GAU gun on a single engine prop. Nice cruise speed too. CL Edited May 20, 2008 by charlielima Quote

+allenjb42 Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 There was something similar in Iron Eagle III. What was that black bad guy plane? And that was over 15 years ago! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA941GqqJFU...feature=related Quote
+suhsjake Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I like it. Maybe Julhelm will do it, since he is really good at making fictional aircraft. Quote

Mladuna Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 There was something similar in Iron Eagle III. What was that black bad guy plane? And that was over 15 years ago! That was Scaled Composites ARES. ARES stands for Agile Responsive Effective Support, so basicly its a close support/coin aircraft. Here's some links to sites about the aircraft. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scaled_Composites_ARES http://www.scaled.com/projects/ares.html http://www.paralay.narod.ru/ares.html (in russian but nice pictures) Quote

charlielima Posted May 25, 2008 Author Posted May 25, 2008 (edited) Just returned home to my desk top. I have Capuns' EMB 314 Super Tucano loaded on my WOV. 5 hardpoints, 2 x 50 cals in wings. 2 skins by Gramps. The usual gripe. No pit. It uses an A-4 cockpit. I keep getting splashed by triple a. I guess because I fly it like a skyraider. CL Edited May 25, 2008 by charlielima Quote
Silverbolt Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 kinda weird, it uses the conventional tucano cockpit, and have a desert camo, when actualy it never used in any country, i just wish a template for that..... Quote
charlielima Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) kinda weird, it uses the conventional tucano cockpit, and have a desert camo, when actualy it never used in any country, i just wish a template for that..... I'm thinking we should start over. From scratch. Back to square 1. I'm spoiled by the works of Zure, Usafmtl, Razbam, and the Mirage factory. Capun has produced some great stuff. He builds planes that nobody else will touch. I don't want to criticize his work and I won't. A new ALX with a cockpit is where I think this should go. CL Edited May 26, 2008 by charlielima Quote
