F-35A Skinning Contest

Recommended Posts

Ok Klav's released the beta of the F-35. I want to have some fun with it.

Categories.......

1. Technical accuracy repaint, ie a country that will use the F-35 in its colors. With all the flare they have with them. Do not worry if this one is the right model or not, the goal here is technical accuracy of an operational F-35 unit USMC, RAF, RN, USAF, IAF camo. Yes the default skin is awesome but I want it to be your own work.

Fictional reality.....what? Something that has been used on a plane before but may never make it to the F-35. Anniversary schemes, Ferris scheme, USMC MARPAT, Russian Flanker schemes, Aggressor schemes. But nothing fictional from anime or anything like that. Has to be a real scheme used at one time.

1st Prize - WPAFB coin and a WPAFB T shirt.

2nd Prize - WPAFB coin

You have until Friday, 3 October 2008 to get your submissions in with, winner being announced on the 4th of October before I go on duty.

The best repaint will be judged by my secret minions of Lazer cats. (only 1st and 2nd prize.)

Good luck.

So we could use paint schemes that have been utilized in the past, but those would be considered 'fictional', right?

Thus the term Fictional Reality. I made it up. You could do one in a WWII P-51 scheme if you wanted. As long at one time it was a real skin.

oh yeah!

Considering I did SEA for the raptor, I think I'll be going with USAF Euro camo. Or maybe RAF desert pink

if anybody needs ideas...

-the RCAF (Canadian, you know.) plans on getting JSFs, that is as long as Dion doesn't get elected.

-SEA camo would look good.

-try doing a skin forthe F-35 that got beat by the "F-13"

-INVASION STRIPES!

I would do these myself, but i have no idea how to use photoshop. And I have loads of homework.

Who else? Anyone?

I do have a few more questions:

Are multiple submissions (not of the same skin, of course  ) okay?

Do mere decal jobs count as well?

If anyone wants to map tail skins and decal placement, I'll send you a 16x20 P-51 Print:

I meant if anyone wanted to place decals for the F-35, I'd send them the P-51 print.

The Mustang, BTW, was Blakeslee's personal mount, no kill markings, no nose art, my kind of guy.
