Don't get me wrong, but wouldn't be the Flanker a better base for such a modification? At least you would have a little bit of space between the engines to store one of the paks - with two "half -paks" beside the engines you wouldn't have to worry about the clearance hight...

...just a thought...

No, this was F-15 modification from the beginning, also I really like F-15 thats why. Flanker is cool plane and all, but its just dosent make me droll (:biggrin:).

 

Any comments about logo?

PKF gets a logo! More and more AC:KoF References everyday!

 

While it's obviously unrealistic, one must strive to make it as realistic as possible. While there are no transforming planes, they're not Transformers. They make sense, in that everything has a place, everything moves from that place, and everything stays the same size. Giant robots that transform into planes isn't realistic. However, it's realistic for what it is.

 

If the gear are too far rearward, not only will it be even harder to land (Try landing a plane with the landing gear too far from the CG), but it will be on a very thin area of the wing, where it's completely unrealistic, and it there was a physics model, it'd snap.

I know I dont try to create ultimate fighter (like in some other threads), with TAC Pack two first prototypes will fly only with subsonic speed (Gespenst will be faster of course), they will have some quirks that pilot must cope with etc. I would prefer to go with my idea about side mounted "gear holders" they good enough, I dont think we can come up with something much better, also we will have this out of way finally, also detail how much it have to be moved to the rear can be easily changed during modeling.

 

The IPKF logo was photoshopped by me, I didnt do much, I only joined two logos. There is no way that I could make something like this all by myself.

Im surprised that you cant tell what I used. Heres hint.

As for mechas: I much more prefer ones who are realistic as much as it goes, I love wanzers, (Wanderung Panzer) from Front Mission saga and Arm Slaves from Full Metal Panic, for example. Also I like realistic approach to Gundams in 8th Mobile Suit Team.

 

On side note: What should be official name for ISAF special forces. The back story goes like this: "When the Erusean war started and allies joined and created ISAF some parts of their own special forces, like OCU's Central Readiness Force or Royal Commonwealth SAS, were joined and created new formation under command of former SAS operative Maj. Catharine Shepard (a.k.a. "The Evil Bitch from Hell")."

Now Im lacking the official name for that unit, I was thinking about ISAF Joint Special Task Force. Could you give me some ideas?

Yo, I want to assure everyone that Im still working on this project. I decided to get little sidetracked and do some stuff for Resident Evil 4. I know this sound weird but what is really important I FINALY learned to work with 3D models, here is little preview what I was doing: My Resident Evil mod (WIP). I was tinkering with F-15E model that I got, but Ill need F-15 made for WoE (ya know poly count bones and stuff). Now, do you know someone who have F-15 model, preferably in Milkshape format (or 3D max .asc, or wavefront .OBJ), with bones textures and stuff, as reference also Ill provide full credit.

BTW: Any Ideas for ISAF special forces?

Good to know. Unfortunately i didnt get the chance to try to model the plane and i dont have access to any modelling software...It sounds as though youve made it past the first hurdle (ya know, starting :biggrin: )

 

Any way What about Nachtfalke (Night Hawk) SQN? What if they flew the soon coming Su-47? Or just to try something new, Tornados (the intercept ones of course, perhaps with a jammer and two bombers thrown in the mix).

I have written to fast cargo asking if he got usable F-15 model, Ill may write to other modders that were creating F-15's.

In meantime I did some little editing and see what we got now.

As for ISAF special forces: i90, if would read my previous, previous ( :biggrin: ) post you would know that I was talking about ground forces and I was looking for official name for them.

I did some reading and it turns out that my first guess (Joint Special Task Force) was VERY close how it should be. Joint task force composed of special operations units from more than one Service, formed to carry out a specific special operation or prosecute special operations in support of a theater campaign or other operations (this is exactly how I imagined ISAF special forces.), is named Joint Special Operations Task Force.

So from now on it that unit will be named: Independent States Allied Forces Joint Special Operations Task Force (ISAF JSOTF)

And heres their patch (I tried, but couldnt find two color font in Photoshop):

Hi all, I would like to start little project named F-15T TACTICAL. Basic concept and draft is already done. Since Ace Combat thread is gone, some details concerning TAC are gone too but at least I got sketches.

 

NOTE: This is NOT realistic plane so dont bother me how this monster would fly, or that its ovepowered.

 

Brief description:

Anyway, F-15T TACTICAL is experimental multitask plane designed for long range missions where it can provide necessary support and remain in combat area for prolonged amount of time. To be able to do that custom version of F-15E Strike Eagle underwent numerous changes. F-15T has been made able to equip TACTICAL Packs; similar to Panavia Tornado BDSP but giving pilot possibility to use any armament that was managed to be stuffed inside, be it AMRAAM's, GBU, JADAM, BDSP, FAEB etc. While TAC Packs limits F-15T they offer enormous firepower combined with additional pylons F-15T is capable to literary rain death upon the enemy. Of course if missions demands it TACK Packs can be detached changing F-15T into dangerous fighter. Still its just prototype so there are problems, biggest is inability to drop TAC Packs during flight since OS freezes and needs to be rebooted with takes time. Thats pilots are instructed to RTB to detach TAC Packs.

 

As for technical: TACTICAL is basically remade F-15E but bigger and with additional pylons (and second model minus TAC Packs). There would be 3 versions of F-15T

 

1) F-15T "Type R" first prototype with lots of bugs (lacks afterburner, slower etc)

2) F-15T "Type L" (same model as "Type R" only different colors) second prototype most of bugs were eliminated

3) F-15T "Type S" codenamed "Gespenst" (practically same model as previous ones but with "tailpipe") much better than two previous prototypes also carrier capable without TACK Pack and equipped with ARCS (Active Radar Camouflage System ie. stealth)

 

Please help since I have no idea about modeling but fell free to ask questions.

 

 

for me it would be better to use an f15e with tweaked pylons(add more)nevertheless, u can add some more conformal tanks over the fuselage or a dorsal wrap-around, like the mig 29 ones, or build new bigger wing droptanks.

Could you give me some comments about my markings (you know so I could improve them)?

 

And now for another devious idea: A defensive burst missile. If you played AC Zero you know what Im talking about. Its rather big missile but different from offensive variant. When dropped like bomb it spreads aerobrakers and as soon your plane moves away and enemy is in range in goes BOOOOOOM (in manner it did in AC). Great way to get those pesky bogeys on your tail. Hmmm what do you think?

 

As for modeling: While working on my small mod for RE4 i learned how to assign vertexes to joints, create faces, overall work with 3D models (moving, scaling the basics). While its not much and I still got random encounters with problems, on plus side; I gain more experience dealing with them (with help of course) a little more and Ill get level up :biggrin: (goes away humming Final Fantasy 4 battle theme)

Believe me, I too cant wait to get this thing done. However I need normal F-15 model to even start, Im pretty good at editing existing resources so if I get model I can at least make something that will reassemble my vision. Unfortunatly modeling from scratch is imaposible for me so we have to deped on someone else to provide us with a base model (normal F-15) made for WoE.

Note that I didnt make it, and it need to be turned into my vision.
