Trouble is, just like the mistel http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...amp;hl=veltro2k it need a launch aircraft,,thus has to made in two ways

1. as a weapon then it can be launched from a plane,,but then no control

2 as a plane, you could control it, but then it cant be launched from a plane

Make it a pilotable aircraft.then after 1 or 2 training missions you could start a 1 mission campaign.Looks cool so far Veltro,Thank you.

I can't help but wonder if a Betty could be created as the 'weapon', mounted ABOVE the Okha, and you "drop" it upwards?

Or, use it as a weapon (EOGR class like the torpedos), and just attach it to the updated Betty's torp station....

many possibilites here...

It is possible to 'be' the weapon (in this pic, I'm in the T-38).

Already tested the concept.

The Suicide Rocket Airplane ( Yokosuka MXY-7 OKHA ) was carried under a Japanese Bomber

( G4M2 or G4m3 Betty ). It was essentially a missile that used a human pilot as the guidance

system. It was dropped about 20 miles from the target ( ship ). Then the pilot would guide

toward the target, then he would light the rockets and dive toward the ship going 600 miles

per hour.

Questions 1. Is a pilot is needed to control the Suicide Rocket Plane.

2. Can the Suicide Rocket Plane be control from the Mother Ship Betty.

3. Like some one said used as a EOGR Weapon.

Thanks

Fatman

I know I'm resurecting an old thread but now that NA introduced cruise missiles this might be more feasable if implemented as a weapon.

i've done it with torpedoes

the problem is they ACT like cruise missiles, arcing up and coming down as opposed to a flat trajectory (but it was only an experiment, and further testing/editing would be required)

Could you set up ground attack cannon with very short range, and play with the AI data ground attack variables for that plane?

Any thoughts on AI air - air ramming?

I'm eventually going to need it (acig link). My first though bubble was a *very* short range gun or AAM, or maybe a displaced collision box, but collision won't work for AI vs AI.

Lexx,

You can make it a cruise missile. SF2NA cruise missiles are targetable. It neatly solves the problem...no tricking the sim required.
