Ok...Rules are: List FIVE only .... but post only ONE Youtube video, of your favourite comedy moment. I'll kick off the proceedings. The funniest program / series I remember which resonated best with my age and broke new ground was Not the Nine O'clock news. Then there was the Young Ones of course which was brilliant, though I didn't care for Alexei Sayle. Red Dward certainly had it's moments too, especially in the old days, and you can't leave out Bottom. But my funniest edition of any comedy series has to be Blackadder Goes Forth, Private Plane. The one with Rick Malal as the pilot. Peerless. I'm not a fan of Mr Bean, but all the same Rowan Atkinson is a comedy genius. So, the list - Rowan Atkinson. Blackadder. Rick Mayal. Bottom. Leslie Neilson. Naked Gun. John Cleese. Fawlty Towers. ..... And a nostalgic soft spot for Eric Morecambe. Eric and Ernie. There are sooooo many outstandingly funny comedians and comedic moments over the the years. Sam Kinnison - Probably the only person on earth that has made me laugh at loud. The Black Adder guy - Dunno his name but funny series. The Blackadder team 5. Loriot I guess, most of you wouldn't know the last name - he was a German humourist, who died only recently. Rest in peace, Loriot! I picked this scetch, because it can be understood without knowing the language. He plays a salesman, who has to wait for his customers a little. Alan Partridge (more recent, all time favourite comedy character which is pure genius) 5. Morcombe and Wise. 6. Peter Sellers 7. Alistair Simms.(not comedian as such but some great film roles) 8. Lee Evans (when ever I've seen a performance on TV it's always been excellent which is rare these days) 9. Mrs Brown (great TV show at the moment) 10. Bill Bailey. 11. Steptoe and Son. 12. Spike Milligan 13. When I was around 7 to 12 I loved Harold Lloyd. (pair of glasses and a smile) One thing I have noticed over the years that it's very, very rare you get a funny female comedian...even ones that are raved about usually fail to make me laugh. R4 is the crucible for so much superb comedy that it surprises me that many people appear to not have heard of it, and of the talent it's sprung - Steve Coogan (above) being just one of many. Wodin 0 Posted October 13, 2011 (edited) I disagree...I've heard plenty of female stand ups over the years and they are rarely funny. Thing is even my ex wife used to same the same thing. One recently on the Apollo who apparently is supposed to be this rising female comedian and also getting big in the States just wasn't funny...yet the crowd where laughing...takes alot for me to laugh anyway...so maybe I'm a harsh critique...but I know I could do a funnier act than most female stand ups. Just women don't do comedy well especially stand up. Their just not that good at it comapred to men. Most likely because we never grow up. Just look at our lists here..all men pretty much except Jennifer Saunders and Dawn french (who are now also spent up and not that funny anymore).
