garyscott 11 Posted November 7, 2012 http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?195594-Allied-Aircraft-in-Korea Whilst roving the internet, i came across this rather fascinating thread with a collection of photos taken during the Korean conflict. Quite a slice of history here, so enjoy. Gary

garyscott 11 Posted November 8, 2012 Noticed the pics of the Ace McDonnel? and the defected mig? Falcon I believe that that particular MiG is on display, still in the same markings, in a US museum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan-Gurevich_MiG-15 In this link, go down to the section on Korean war service and there is a pic of the same machine, in its new home. Lexx_Luthor 57 Posted November 8, 2012 uh ... wow. Yea bookmark that, some of those can make great loading screens over the SF. Some of the B-29 pics are very good, the Sabre taking off above other Sabres, the Twin Mustangs taking off. Really nice stuff thanks!!!!!

Yea. I visit the Mig everytime I go there since I live near the museum :) I saw a typo, I misspelled the Ace's name. Its McConnel. Falcon
Capitaine Vengeur 263 Posted November 12, 2012 I can also recognize 3 pics of what seems to be the wreckage of Guy Bordelon's Corsair: five red stars, VC-3 markings, and darkened roundels for night fighters. Bordelon was the only Allied ace on prop plane, the only Allied night fighter ace, the only US Navy ace, and seemingly the last scoring ace of the War. I think a rookie crashlanded it hours before the cease-fire Edited November 13, 2012 by macelena
