But that's not I want. please understand this. I just wanna disappear Iron pipes(?) side of HUD.(attached jpeg) After 2 days I anguished, found something that 'not a problem from meshes.' It can disappear with only change of cockpit.ini, but I don't know how to do it. Please Someone help me! Quote

logan4 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 You can try to use some other cockpit which has a single glass windshield - unless you want to use the above for a specific reason. Might save your trouble. I think those mesh parts are actually part of the windshieldframe so you going to end up loosing more than you intend. Quote

But thae cockpit.ini file based on SF1 series, it can't realization what I want. I tried add some functions to the file I found, but it failed. F-5E Cockpit is best I think. but It's Texture is really bad... I don't know how to make textures, so I'm trying i can do.(I think this text has lots of grammar error.....) The reason you don't see them from the outside, is the cockpit is a seperate LOD from the aircraft's LOD. They're not associated with each other, per se. ============ if you use the 'move mesh trick' cockpit ini edits -and one needs to know EXACTLY which meshes are specfified*-, you'll leave huge gaps in the windshield, as that framing "supports" the canopy glass tga called for in the cockpit.lod perhaps if we knew which aircraft you're working on, suggestions for other cockpits could be made as to the textures "looking bad", well, that's really a fairly simple matter of repainting the existing ones. Just like doing an aircraft skin, you create a layered template and paint what you want. Out of curiosity, which "edited" cockpit ini are we talking about? I've "moved" lots of things for lots of cockpits -- *and as we no longer have access to ANY lods, its a moot point. unless one has access to 1stGen lods, or prelocked SF2 lods, and can use a hex editor ps: your english is quite good! I used that file, so I think only editing can remove that 'frame'. If you use MIG29_Cockpit.ini file in that contents, you can remove frame even you useing in original meshes on SF2! But I don't know how it can remove it. Quote

Thanks Wrench. I love lots of your mods. Espacially, I really expect KAW Team's Korean War mod.My grand father was serviced in military at that time. I made a Campagin about korean war in korean SF series Community, I was so crude... I really expect KAW teams one! I'm poor 3d modeller. Actually, I learn 3ds max only 1 months. I have a plane model I can made, but cockpit isn't. 3D modelling is hard work to me... Hmmmm... Can you please help me found the threads how to make Texture of doing repainting? Firstly, all the model files (.lod files) are hidden in SF2. Secondly, lod files are uneditable, with the exception of texture associations (.bmp, jpg, tga, or dds). Only the developer of that model can modify the model file's source file (max file), and then export it as a lod file. Quote

I'd suggest looking at the Phantom Pit I used for the B-66. MASSIVE amounts of moves, use of "open cockpit' statment and lots of other unique things... Now mind you, it does use the 1stGen lod, which is stll accesable (and the SF2 lods DO use the same mesh names, btw). It it doable, via 'smoke and mirrors' 1 Quote

Name me one TW cockpit .lod that you've seen modified beyond the texture limitations that I have already stated. And if you reread what I stated, its the lod itself he is asking about, not editing .ini files so as to rotate windscreen frames out-of-view and the like, which we have been doing for like 8-9 years now.. The pilot was all by hisself, offset to the left as shown. Just like it's Navy brother, the Skywarrior. The right side was taken up by 'black boxes and electrircal panels. Hence, the use of the slightly less inaccurate Phatnom pit Quote
