76.IAP-Blackbird Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) I have the source here, Tanks will be integrated into each model as standart. Bump and Specular maps will be added after finishing the 1 Basemodel of the Su-17 family. From this "Mother" I will build the rest of the family. I have checked AD source, its not bad but very simplyfied. So I will use my Mothermodel for the rest. Its only the nose and vertail that needs to be changed and many many small parts repositioned. AD did a great job on the SF1 model, I want to have a Su-17 that is comparable trough out the whole family. It bothers me on the Tornados, that one versions looked smoother than the other but lacked some features. There was no standart! For my part, I want it standartised and a familiar look! Centurion-1 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 Well that does sound like a very reasonable approach! Anyways, can't wait to try the new Su-20!
76.IAP-Blackbird Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 It will need alot of ini tweaking! new FM would be nice to, but i have no idea about fm`s

Stratos Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 How this one is going guys? Any important update?
Soulfreak Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 If there would be important news for the community, you will read them here.
Centurion-1 Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 There is a lot of important work done behind the scenes, unfortunately this has stolen a bit of the focus from the actual campaign. But ultimately, some of the most important planes in this campaign will be done to a SF2 "HD++" standard which will make flying a lot more fun! Quality takes time, I'm afraid, and because us modders are still relatively few and all have RL stuff to deal with... But in summary: -Martins Su-17/20 is still progressing nicely -Carlo has made some very cool MiG skins pictured above -"New" MiG-23s may be around the corner! And stary has a gorgeous MiG-23BN cockpit in the works. -Mirage F.1EQ is progressing nicely. -Dast24 is working on the MiG-29s as you can see I'll try to whip up some new pictures tonight! 1
Stratos Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Thanks for the info Centurion! Looking forward to see those pics, I'm sure it will be ana amazing campaign.
Centurion-1 Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 Well friends, some news about the campaign: I have decided to make friends with the Thirdwire Terrain Editor and after a pretty mind-numbing session of adding well over a 100 custom tiles to the default desert tilelist I have come several steps closer to my dream of realizing a more beutiful Iran and Zagros mountain range! JSF Aggies excellent SWUS map just blew me away and really shows what the old terrain formap is capable of, so I decided to borrow some of his tiles (haven't asked for permission yet, sorry man!) to see what they could do. One thing led to the other and now I have decided to retile the whole Zagros region. In the old tileset there were only two tile types apart from farms, sea and cities: desert and mountains. This means that all of Zagros will look more or less identical, and if you sample photos from for example Panoramio/Google Earth you can see that the nature there is really diverse. Here are some screenies from my work so far, some missing transitions still and WIP tiles but bear with me. All the art credits go to JSF Aggies excellent work! 9
Wrench Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 have decided to make friends with the Thirdwire Terrain Editor and after a pretty mind-numbing session of adding well over a 100 custom tiles to the default desert tilelist been there, done that!!! NOW do you folks realize why I'm so crazy??? seriously, that is looking EXCEPTIONAL!!!!
Soulfreak Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Looks very promissing Centurion. One general question I have. Is it needed, that the textures are in bmp format? Or is it possible to have them in jpg? Would save a lot of space and would be good for performance i think....
Soulfreak Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I´m not sure, but didn´t take Hunters part in the early days of the war? Can someone exactly say which kind of Hunters? I think they were used for attacks...
Centurion-1 Posted November 11, 2013 Author Posted November 11, 2013 The final textures will be in jpg for sure! IIRC it is pretty unclear what missions the Hunters flew but probably CAS missions along the front ACIG.org states the following: Flying Leaders School - Detachment ?, Hunter F.Mk.59A/B at Rashid AB (Baghdad) - Detachment ?, Jet Provost T.Mk.52 at Rashid AB (Baghdad)
Soulfreak Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Ah thanks for the Info, will then do an F.Mk.59 skin too... ;-)
